You seem to know what you are hearing, so I probably don't even have to tell you that you have discovered someone very special here. Angelina was able to pack in a lot of her character into this two and a half minutes, but you won't really understand how good she really is until you have heard many more songs from her. She has an incredible versatility and can use her voice in so many different ways to tell a story.
It has been a while since I posted this, but I always try to leave this little bio for those just discovering Angelina, so that you can learn a little more about her background and her kind and caring soul.......
*Angelina Jordan*
- Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 15
- She began singing at the age of one and a half
- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...barefoot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 160 songs and over 75 artists in the last 8 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written five of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", "Million Miles", and 7th Heaven" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.
Updates: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist". On Nov 6, 2020 she released her first single under Republic... "Million Miles"! On March 19 2021 Angelina released her latest single "7th Heaven"
She has done so much already, but at 15 she is just getting started!!!
Thanks for all this info about the greatest story telling vocalist that has come along in my 74 years of being on this earth. I have experienced all the greats, and none move me like AJ. I have viewed the Christmas Show, that is still available, 17 times and it gets better each and every time. ...when I say, "a few", I actually mean about 100. As hard as it is to believe, she has done so many high level performances that I found it hard to even strip it down to only 100. I think every video on this list is reaction worthy, so you won't go wrong selecting any of them. You can throw a dart at this list and you are going to land on gold every time ;)

This was a little over 2 years ago if I recall (age 13). She turns 16 Jan 10th. She has over 150 performances. Most jump back to her 4 short NGT Norwwy performances when she was 7. There available grouped together with subtitles for judges reaction part. Others have given a lot of details so I will keep it short. She is amazing.
Crossing the event horizon means you can never get away from the black hole, and time slows right down. You've just listened to the vocal equivalent! Escape is not possible - because you don't want to. Welcome to the amazing world of Angelina Jordan, one of the most versatile and amazing singers we all have ever heard.

Angelina received the highest praise from the remaining members of the *legendary Queen* . Queen are enthusiastic about Angelina's arrangement. Queen shared Angelina's performance on their official Twitter account with the words "WOW, what a rendition". 💯 *AJ* 💯

People were amazed by her starting in a'capella but if you go back to
when she performed on Norway's Got Talent, which began when she
was 7 and ended when she turned 8, Angelina sang 'I'm A Fool To Love
You' from start to finish a'capella. The girl has always had nerves of steel

The biggest surprise here is that you haven’t heard Angelina before. I am not a musician or singer, but I’ve actively followed music since the 1950’s. Simply put, Angelina is the best singer I’ve ever heard. She sings across many genres, and she is as mesmerizing in all of them as you heard today. It’s not really describable-you just need to start listening. Her covers of Billie Holiday at 7 years old will show you something you can’t believe. And to see what she can do now at 15, watch her cover of Adele’s Easy on Me. Like many of her fans, I listen to Angelina everyday. I’ve never come close to that with any other singer in my 75 years.

Adele is gifted but there is a sense of effort and strain. Angelinas version sounds effortless.
The way you type is odd, it feels like very relaxed. I can't understand it. It is like you are typing in slow motion. I really can't explain what I mean. The nearest thing I can describe is like there is a 10 second gap between each word that you type. Sorry I am getting off topic, but I have honestly not noticed anything like that in decades on the internet. This is really weird to me. What amazes me is how easily Angelina draws people in ! This is no ordinary girl at all !!! I'm 61 and have never been so captivated by a child singer ! Her at age 10 is my favorite listening! It doesn't seem possible to active perfection at that age but, truth can't be ignored ! Go Angelina !!!!

Great reaction to a vocal tour-de-force! You've done it now. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (135+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse (and many others in between) and do them all justice!
If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40 piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come.

In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield").

Her younger stuff includes "Put a spell on you" which is fantastic. Her cover of Adele "All I ask" is brilliant but her own song "Million Miles" about her Grandfather is next level.
Great reaction! I sensed great authority here. Subscribed. You will not be disappointed no matter what age, but especially in her younger years. Whatever voice character she had, she maximized it. Hint: She is a big Billie Holiday fan from the beginning of her life. She's turning 16 in four days. That was her grandmother Mery Zamani who first stood at the end. She's responsible for starting Angelina's Jazz upbringing.
Young Lady.....you need to hear her back at 6 yrs old in studio singing I Who Have Nothing! incredible.....then hear her 4 songs at 7/8 yrs old on Norway Got Talent....then you will start to grasp this phenomenon
Liza ("with a z as a particular artist has said her whole life"), welcome to the wonderful world of Angelina Jordan! Many thousands (probably millions) of people around the world have been introduced to Angelina with this performance which I classify as a bona fide MASTERPIECE.
If you are wondering why you feel something going on inside you it's her love touching your heart and, Liza, she will never leave you. Play this again a couple of more times when you are alone and you will start to cry. Incredible? Yes, but it is real and you will understand what is going on as you listen to more of her. BTW, when you listen to her when she was 7-8-9-10 years old don't expect to hear a kid singing "very nice" and, isn't she cute! Close your eyes and you think you are listening to Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, and on and on. What?!?!
Liza, I don't know how much attention you pay to viewers comments but I strongly suggest you read them, particularly at this moment when you are getting to know her. You will get an idea of how strongly all of us feel about her. And, some fans (her 'Angels') will provide with all kinds of data (playlists and personal info) to give you a good start. And, if you have noticed already, our comments resemble short stories rather than one-liners because we have a lot to say about her. Love is definitely in the air whenever Angelina is thought about or listened to or seen. As wonderful as she is as an artist she is equally as wonderful as a human being. She is family to us and speaking of families, it is impossible to imagine she could have had the success she is experiencing without their total commitment to give her a chance to make her dream of singing to all the people in the world a reality.

Hi Liza, your emotion and surprise are the result of the perception of the qualitative aspects in this performance. Angelina surprised the world with this performance. She is an artistic genius who is humbly writing a few lines in music history. Follow the journey of this girl who has amazed the world since she was 6 years old.
Not enough words: Angelina is now 15 and is a polished professional genius that has been wowing crowds since she was 6 years old. All of the professional voice teachers who have reacted to AJ over the years have been astonished at her abilities and find it difficult to describe her because they have never experienced anyone like her. If you view all of her performances you would be aware they are all at prodigy level.

Here is an introduction to Angelina for you and your viewers who might not be familiar with her.
Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s version of “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong.
Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World.
After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview last year talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down.
Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan.
Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions.
At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities.
Angelina Jordan has about 150 songs in her repertoire. In 2020 she signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Her versatility is unmatched. She will wow and surprise you all the time. 15 years old today who is an excellent role model for today’s youth and her best is yet to come.

And a hidden gem *Im still holding out for you* is a leaked song that she recorded when she was 10 years old. And is probably the best song she has done till this day. This is a demo and not a cover. She was given the lyrics by a Norwegian artist called baby fuzz but since Baby fuzz never heard back from Angelina he recordes his own version and released it. So both versions are uploaded the same year but Angelina recorded it first. There is alot of rumors and stuff on how it got leaked but no ones really knows. There has been said alot on the comments on the video but they keep getting deleted and now last I checked the comments and were turned off.

Her singing and her whole presentation is so wonderful. In a number of arrangements (she makes hem herself) Angelina adds simplicity and slows down the songs. In that way you are drawn into her storytelling and hear the story of songs as if it is the first time. Last year she did a jazzy interpretation of MJ’s Billy Jean and all of the sudden the story is coming to the surface.

Angelina is in a special category of young talented singers who have both a very particular style of singing and a unique timbre combined together to make a very identifiable sound. She's a bit more well known of the other young international talent due to the AGT exposure, but still somewhat unknown.
Great reaction to my favorite artist! As the saying goes, "You ain't heard nothing yet". I'm telling you, this girl is really something special! You will get plenty of suggestions from her other "angels" as she calls her fans. As for me, I will be happy no matter what song you choose next. I've heard several young girls attempt to cover Angelina's version, and they just can't pull it off. Angelina is one of a kind, and at the tender age of 13, she is a consummate professional with 10 years of training. If you think this is great you should have heard the rendition that was done on her Christmas Show on the 23rd. She does have perfect tone and could have song the whole song A cappella. It takes place at 1hr and 15 minutes into the show and it will demonstrate the power and control she has.
This is a 13-year-old that does the arrangements of what she sings, let's not forget she has been on stage in front crowds since she was 6 years old so you can see how comfortable she is. She knows exactly how good she is, but she is not stuck up. She also writes music and is an author.
Angelina sings the blues like she's 45 years old with a trail of unfaithful lovers; which caused her to drink a pint of whiskey and down 2 packs of smokes every day. She already has all the skills and infuses every song with the inflection of a grand-master at 13. Who knows where she goes from here. You're late to the party, but you should enjoy catching up.
