Last week it was dry enough to spread cattle slurry on the lighter soil. We had to wait for the manure supply. Finally, contractor Wieringa from Espel was able to drive with his new Kaweco tank on Thursday afternoon. The transport of the manure is monitored via a track and trace system. The manure is also weighed and sampled so that the mineral contents are determined (afterwards).
After injecting the manure, the future sugar beet and onion land has been ploughed. I finished it at night because it was going to rain the next day.
Last but not least, the purchased new tractor has been delivered. It has become a Fendt 516 with an air pressure exchange system. With this system we hope to compact the soil as little as possible with low pressure in the tires.
