Dressed to Kill will likely add special effects to armors in an RPG fashion, because I think they *_really_* need to give players a reason to want stuff, especially since we have no ability to actually loot stuff, as we don't have an inventory system. As of right now, there is *_no_* reason to collect anything, build anything, or really engage in anything, aside from a pure desire to spend hours travelling somewhere to do virtually nothing while risking losing everything.
To make an environment for both types of players, you can't force one on the other. It doesn't matter that SC is based as an mmo. Forcing never ends well.
I would love to see a year of assets, new ships and new planets. Base building as well but really hopeful they can fins a way to get a handle on the backlog of ships and have new systems to explore and play in.

I agree, I'm optimistic but I'm not yet sold gear grind needs to be a thing in this game as much as others do.
