Its incredible the ignorance of certain dancers about the cultures they are trying to make a version. This is only a version of a old european interpretation of another types of latin dances (Caribbean, not brazzilian). Its a european dance with a misleading name.

This is a dance show. A show of technique and speed. I guess people on the streets of Rio de Janeiro couldn't do it that way. So there is no ignorance it's just a ballroom dance that has its root in Latin american dancing
So, just because they can follow the music speed they are already doing samba? Even if the music is not samba? I think theres something really wrong about european interpretation of dancing. They think they can do the same movements over and over - with some meaningless variations - and call it with a lot of different names (salsa, samba, cha cha cha, rumba) accordinly with the difference in the speed they use. But no: Thats only a slightly different version of general european balroom dancing.
