I listened to this one night on the catwalk of an aircraft carrier transitting the Red Sea on our way to the Persian Gulf. There was a HUGE lightning storm lighting up the horizon over Egypt. It was an AWESOME sight and the music was perfect.
It's so evocative of rain, storm and weather. I really believe that Centuries from now, when most of today's 'superstars' are long forgotten, Enya, like Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, and Phillip Glass, will still be played and remembered. They are the 'Classical Composers' of the late 20th Century.
I think Enya and her music were reincarnated from an ancient era of civilization where ethereal wonders ruled the world. Absolutely beautiful beyond common words.
Ancient Egypt/ world wide before the downfall of man when we were all one …..why they created European hatred and also rhe world wars Germany was a melting pot
Celtic culture the Romans took us captive and enya and others kept it alive Celtic is pre history culture so yes she is our queen Keeping a prehistoric culture lit

Thank you for this. A big Enya fan and, since I’be been gathering songs for a Rain Story Party CDs, I wanted to mix the two versions. YOU made this possible.
Storms in Africa (Part One) is my favorite Enya song. I only wish the original recording was cleaner. On play back it can sometimes sound a little muddy. Not here though. Thank you.
I'm not in Africa. But this always sounds like the first rain of spring, as well as the first thunderstorm in April/May in the Finger Lakes region of NY State (5&20 corridor 🤟😁)
Absolutely beautiful and sounds so much more powerful in Gaelic Cá fhad é ó An tús go deireadh Tóg do chroi Siúl tríd na stoirmeacha As Béarla (in English) How long is it From beginning to end Take your heart Walk through the storms I am an Irishman living in England but I will never surrender our original mother tongue 🇮🇪🙏 Buiochas le Dia (thanks be to God)
Though I walk through Warm sands in Africa Winds will grow soon To storms in Africa How far to go I cannot say How many more Will journey this way? Dark skies fall on Black earth and ivory Far from your sun Clouds now close over me How far to go I cannot say How many more Will journey this way? Storms have come! Rains wash the earth away Dark skies fall down Into another day Rains have now come From storms in Africa Time will go on Through Storms in Africa

Thanks for uploading this extended version. I have got the album "Watermark," but didn't know this long version till now.🌻
By the way, mine is a CD with 11 tracks.
That's because I edited the two tracks together myself! This is a one of a kind definitive version of the song with both parts! Thanks for watching!
Dolcissimi brividi . Motivo che ti trasporta . Per me la più bella melodie di Enya assieme ad ORINOCO.

music that takes you home, ethereal
Ambient music before Ambient was a thing. This song is from the future.
Though I walk through
Warm sands in Africa
Winds will grow soon
To storms in Africa
How far to go
I cannot say
How many more
Will journey this way?
Dark skies fall on
Black earth and ivory
Far from your sun
Clouds now close over me
How far to go
I cannot say
How many more
Will journey this way?
Storms have come!
Rains wash the earth away
Dark skies fall down
Into another day
Rains have now come
From storms in Africa
Time will go on
Through Storms in Africa
Music heals
