The most brutal bit about all this is how good of a person Wilson was. His entire storyline is "bad things happen to good people".

Ehh Wilson isn’t as ‘good’ as the rest of the characters treat him, not that he needs to be; they’re all damaged people whose *need* to save people extends well beyond their professionalism for reasons unique to each character

One part of this show, this episode in particular, is how they can show just how strongly the physical pain is effecting House.
For a moment there, a genuine solid moment, he doesn't want to get off the bus of death to the afterlife simply because when he's on that bus, he doesn't feel the pain.
I've had chronic pain for 24 years now. There have been times when i very much want to die.

I think it moreso feeds into the idea of House as a selfish narcissistic user, of people and vicodin, that's why the journey through the psychiatric stint is learning to trust and actually value friends (apologizing to Wilson, making good faith efforts after Cuddy before relapsing). But definitely agreed, House blames himself and so will Wilson until like halfway through that season

I have been through this, and it was the hardest and worst thing I will ever experience. My 19 year old nephew got into a car with someone who had been drinking all day, and he somehow lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree at 70mph. His body hung on for a week until he was declared brain dead. He never woke up. I hope he heard all of us telling him how much we loved him, but there's no way to know for sure, so I'm going to believe he did until someone tells me differently. He took a big piece of my heart with him when he left us and I'll never be the same.

I would just like to point out that at the end, when you mentioned "This is not House's fault that there was a bus crash.", the reason why Amber told House that "he [House] kind of deserves it" is that House was not really talking to Amber. The scene was a dream, and the Amber on that white bus was just a product of House's subconscious. House was basically talking to himself, blaming himself on what had happened to Amber.

This was the season where the writer's strike was going on. So, they lost 4-8 episodes IIRC. That meant that they had to shoe in a lot of stuff into this final episode. So, the "it's House's fault" stuff and House's crush on Amber were meant to play it up further leading in. House had always been a problem for Wilson, but he always tolerated him because it was never so bad, and this season it was supposed to be the final straw. Unfortunately, we got a short season and all of those threads had to be rushed a little, so some of the justifications were shoehorned in and rushed.

When she said “you kind of deserve it “ she means that house always woke up Wilson in the middle of the night to go and get him while he was drunk somewhere.. that was something that happened often, so if you get drunk often and you always call someone to get and help you at every time in night and day, the probability that something happens and that someone gets hurt gets higher.. he was selfish and in his mind he thinks that he deserves to die

The actual consulting doctors for the show must have felt similar medical anxiety. They are given the parameters of going from A to B, and most of the medicine has to be removed for brevity, and what is left has to be dumbed-down for layman consumption,. The brilliance of Arthur Doyle was that he managed it without established reference... and even managed to influence real detective forensics.

Can confirm Jesse Spencer is definitely Aussie (born in Melbourne). It just makes it so much more entertaining when, in an early episode of House, House calls Chase British, stating, "If you have the Queen on your money, you're British." Even more entertaining, the show's creator and producer had no idea Laurie wasn't from the US, his accent in his audition tape was so convincing, and was shocked to hear Laurie's "real" voice.
As for the episode, a real kick in the crotch. Such a shame the writer's strike robbed us of so many potential stories. And it killed Heroes in season 2. Re: Chase doing surgery...After House fired him, Chase took up a surgery rotation at the hospital, which is why he did so many operations in later seasons. Lastly, the main problem I had with Amber's character is having trouble seeing past Anne Dudek's previous character from an episode of Friends, where she was Phoebe's eventual husband Mike's girlfriend "Precious". Every time I saw her, all I could hear was, "My name is Precious!"

I wouldn't want them to wake me up just to tell me I'll die in few hours. That's really just cruel, it's egoistical and only serves to soothe the people who want to say goodbye.

It just has a huge potential to make the dying person suffer more. I think dying in a coma isn't that rough compared to being awake while dying.
And if I love someone I would want them too suffer as less as possible.

I remember vividly that when this episode came out it beat the ever living shit out of me and it’s no different a decade later

Jessie is an Aussie and I am almost 100% positive he used to in Home and Away back in the early 2000's.

Also people are uncomfortable with death naturally. So, I think movie makers tend to either dress it up by making a dying person look pretty or horror genre goes gore galore.

Interesting thing about crying... when I had cancer, my mother cried, and I found that I had to comfort her, even though I was the one with the life threatening disease. Funny.

as far as PPE or helmets etc....the studios are paying for the faces you know and theyre gonna show em, otherwise it could be anyone under the masks. the same reason they pop off ironman and spideys masks at every break in action.

why can't they give her a kidney transplant to filter out the admantatene and keep her on bypass and when the admantatene clears her system they find her a new heart cause the damage to her organs would be reversed so she should qualify for the transplant list can someone please answer

No one is judging you. I was at work yesterday and a co-worker got some bad news and didn't tell anyone much about it or what it was. But he was holding back tears and felt he had to apologize. We've all been there. Especially me these past three years. Three family deaths and much emotional trauma.
You said "Fuck death" in the video, and that made me think of the show M*A*S*H, which you've at the very least probably heard of, but one of the main characters on there Dr. Hawkeye Pearce, was fighting to save a life (It's a Korean War medical sitcom/drama) and he yelled "Don't let the bastard win..." meaning the bastard was death.

🐶🐶🐶🐶Is protective Hypothermia a thing? As layman it sounds very werid. Hypothermia per se is bad, while it does slow down metabolism, it also slows down all processes and may cause them to fail, doesnt sound like a good idea when you arent somewhat healthy and are wounded. Like i guess with an infection or something it could be done to slow the spread and potentially kill (like fever) the virus...
The other reason to "freeze" someine seems to be to prevent decomposing which obviously isnt helpful with an alife person
