The ones who make these licensed versions of Monopoly are usually pretty lazy and just use characters as the properties instead of well known locations from the show/video game.
I would have bought this if they used actual locations from the show, as many have pointed out... a missed opportunity.
They did the same with the Pokémon versions too.
I don't understand why they didn't use actual properties xD like Reis temple, Mugen academy or usagis house... It's as if someone who barely had an idea of sailor moon just slapped this together because it was easier to use characters instead of actual buildings... lot's of missed potential here x-x but it was nice to see a review for it! Thanks for the funny commentary as always ^^
You hit the nail on the head. The arcade- the jewelry stoooore. So many missed opportunities.
The school, a race track for Haruka come on the pieces for the properties could have been at least the moon castle on the moon
Sailor moon collectibles review also thought there were some missed opportunities. She was mentioning the house pieces especially but...
The houses are just another nail in the coffin.

I just got mine last night and was a little disappointed about the properties, houses, hotels and dice. I agree, locations from the series would have made more sense.

I think they needed to do the franchise as a whole not a specific season. They were bogged down by that also.

This game board could have been way better. I love sailor moon, however looks cheaply put together. I was really excited to order it, I'll save my money. Thanks for the video
Lol! You guys crack me up :) I preordered mine but it won't be in until Friday. Can't wait to play. They did miss an opportunity for sure with the houses/hotels and dice. They could've even just made them pretty colors like box all rainbow and shit .. but it's still dope!
What hasn’t been adapted into Monopoly!?!? Even Yo-kai Watch has a Monopoly! And the world outside of Japan and France just said eh to it. (Granted it was made when the series was just brought to the states.)

Yes, I am seriously still waiting for a true to the series, awesome Sailor Moon board game! There are many vintage ones in Japan (of course) with the coolest game components, like actual sailor scout figurines that are at a nice scale.
Lol at the end you went passed Go but didn't collect your $200 but then got a $200 fine and then you quit, when you could have kept going.
Good observation! I was legit tired of filming by that point.
Buyer beware. There are no positive reviews of this product anywhere except for superficial blurbs from stores selling it. Monopoly should go back to the drawing board and design a "version 2".

In some way they could have at least made the houses stars and the hotel's crescent moons or the other way around just my opinion......

They missed their chance.Sailor Jupiter on green money,owning the Tsukino Residence and the Moon Palace,and Luna and Artemis pieces.Those are all misses chances.
Thanks Tortilla for an excellent review of this really disappointing product. I could wonder how many people who have watched the entire series of Sailor Moon they consulted when making this, but the answer is pretty obvious.
The tokens should have been sailor moon characters and they should begin in civilian form then have the ability to transform to their sailor forms then super forms which would grant some ability like the ability to buy "houses" then "hotels". The trigger for the transformation could be defeating an enemy (see utilities) or be acquired with hearts. The board squares should have been places you don't buy but "protect". The currency should have been called "hearts". The chance/community chest cards should have been characters/items you befriend/collect to help you on your way. For instance, the Mercury card could be used to hide from having to pay while on an opponents property. The Neptune card could be used to reflect a cost back at the person you need to pay. Of course there could be other cards with less effect but those are some ideas. One card would be the silver crystal which would allow you to swap places with another player. It would always need to be at the bottom of the deck. Jail should possibly be Nehellenia's mirror or a place they get trapped. Railways should be locations the Senshi teleport to. Utilities could be enemies you need to battle. Income Tax could be Tuxido Mask needs to be rescued. Mortgaging properties should be possible but it should be called un-guarding, after all you cannot charge for a Neo-Crystal Tokyo Palace if you aren't guarding the space-time door! Houses/Hotels should be represented by Sailor Moon weapons/items like moon-sticks/chalices.

what upset me is the fact that mario monopoly had mushroom houses and a castle, coins, etc. .. but sailor moon monopoly looks like a money grab with no thought into making better.

I just found this at my EB games and is only a new import so as soon as I saw it today I caved and brought it. I don't need it because it will just sit in my closet but my childhood self (and adult self, lets face it) just needed this, I don't know how much they got in but I needed it now before it was too late.
They could do the star chip candies Luna liked for the houses lol.

I feel like I've been living under a rock to not know that there was a Sailor Moon Monopoly. I heard about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 but not Sailor Moon. Also my sister loves Zelda and I love clue and now there's a game that is made for the both of us holy crap where did you get Clue Zelda? Also can you give me a website to where I can get the wands and brooches? Please & Thank You!
Clue Zelda and the Monopoly was from Gamestop. The wands and brooches are often available on Gamestop as well but I haven’t had a great experience ordering online from them (they cancelled multiple orders of mine for Xmas so just shop in person).
How much was that hope it's still on shelfs next month can't afford to purchase right now. Be nice to see a mega man x version
