We stayed at Motel one in 2016. Price was great, room was small but clean, comfortable. Breakfast was not included at the time, although they serve it. And you are right, very convenient!

I stayed at Motel One for nearly all my trips to Edinburgh since 2014 and the staff was always very friendly and the rooms clean. For this year myself and a mate of mine booked without breakfast as we want to try the places from your other video on the best places to get breakfast. Keep the videos coming they give me lots of ideas of what to do when I come to your beautiful city. All the best from Germany. 👍

The link from old town to new town is Jeffrey St.
An excellent St with loads of history and the oldest tattie shop in Scotland.
Worth a visit with designers shops, Beauty Salons, whisky & tobacco, barbers, tatooists galleries and restaurants/cafés

Thank you. I will be with a group tour this time who is in charge of booking. Last time, with another tour company ,(these are educational tour companies), we stayed in Kirkcaldy. It was a lovely drive across the Firth of Forth and I got to dip my toes into the North Sea off the coast near the hotel. Great memories there. However, I hope that we get to stay closer in to city this time. We are booked at a Premier Inn in London - so I was hoping that they may book one like the Premier Inn you showed here. At any rate, I may check into that for my next personal trip to Edinburgh. It is my favorite city. Thanks, Tony. We love your updates and passion for your hometown. Cheers.

We've stayed at the Premier Inn and the Premier Inn Hub hotels on Market Street and they are spot on. In fact we're staying at the Hub again later this month. The rooms there are small but when booking you can choose a larger room for just £3 a night more. The showers on the hub are fantastic but they only offer a coffee & croissant breakfast for a fiver whereas the Premier Inn next door offer there usual huge buffet breakfast for £9.

My daughter has a disability and in a wheelchair and needed a walk-in shower and a single bed or a couch bed that I requested but when I got there the room had a bath and just a double bed and to top it off the loo was broke and after explaining they couldn't do anything so not a good start to our holiday.

@@paulbets2driving no excuses for that Paul, they should have made your stay a happy one but they failed on your visit. However, every time we have stayed at either of those hotels they have been excellent value for money. We've also stayed at the Premier Inn at Newhaven Harbour loads of times too (it's just along from Leith) and always had wonderful stays there - free parking too. At that one we always phone them a few weeks before arrival and ask for a room overlooking The Forth and they always oblige. Not sure what the accessibility rooms are like there but the walk along the Forth behind the hotel looks very wheelchair friendly and it's great to take in the sea air.

@@DaveyPalmer1 I had plenty of great stays with them but when I'm on my own Davey its just a shame that my daughter experienced it , great talking to you .

Great info. We will be back in Edinburgh next week. We can hardly wait. Have re-watched many of your videos and remembered the great info you gave. ("Not just a hat rack, people!") Still hoping to catch you out and about. Thanks again, Tony!

Heading there this month. Staying at a hostel called kickass grassmarket, in a place called west port, old town . Hope its good. There's pod beds with privacy. I'm in my mid 40's so I need my rest and privacy lol. 13 years after my kids were born this will be my second solo trip for 2 days . Went to London back in January. I'm a little nervous but I'm sure I'll be grand. Hope it's not too Cold .

Always stay in the hub. Usually Rose Street and walk to the "proper" premier inn for the breakfasts. Clean, modern and cheap and in all reality how much time are you going to spend in your hotel room anyway

We just don't do the whole "We don't know you, but we're sharing the room" with you sort of thing in the US. We're geared to sleep with friends and family. I can't see many Americans doing that since weapons of any sort are not allowed in the UK. I just can't see it; not even at 14# a night. Nope. Maybe it's just me, but I might do it if I brought several friends and WE shared the room.
