It's good to see a young man appreciate a Falcon with a floor shift manual gearbox, I use to love the old XW, XY, XA, with both 6 cylinder engine and V8 engine coupled to the old 4 speed 3 linkage top loader gearbox, those gearboxes were just about unbreakable, those gearboxes were used in the famous GTHO Falcon
Great stuff man. The thing about the 6 is you can get V8 power out of them while using less fuel, less maintenance expense, and a lighter front end as well. Have an AU 5sp myself and I think you make a good point with the gears... yes they're a practical long distance car, but luckily ford (Tickford?) gave us low ratios for fun around town too! Very underrated drivers car the 90s Falcons IMO.
I love them. They actually sound great. Have a new video with an exhuats dump pipe coming very soon. I have the au injectors and a dizzy tune. This will chop a torque converter v8
4490 extractors will make it sound superb. there made for that engine. so highly recommend them. also custom grind cam to suit would be good. and it would be utilized by the 4490s aswell. once u cam it. you will want to advance the timing abit. but if your going to do that. make sure someone that knows what there doing is helping you. because you want to get it spot on. and run a 3inch tube from throttlebody to the airbox. its sort of a airbox mod in a way. but helps alot. as the stock one is restrictive. also the front intake that mount up near radiator to get airflow from under the bonnet u can modify by taking some plastic off it more. because the foam on the bonnet actually collapses the intake slightly so restricting air intake. a ported head would also help make it go better with a cam and 4490s. would reccomend a 3inch full exhaust with two magnaflow muffler setup. but thats up to you. that setup above on a manual eb with a ea manual t5 gearbox made 165kws at the wheels on the dyno. so those engines can make good power as is. if done properly
I’ve seen a lot of “drop in” cams that really waken it up. I have some sort of headers on it but definitely need some proper ones. My next video on the car is dropping a exhaust in it. Lucky my good mate is a qualified mechanic building a 400kw one of these. Another video soon there lol. I’ll definitely look into the intake too.
Pro tip to restore your steering wheel buttons and demister switch: Rub a tiny bit of Vaseline/patroleum jelly onto them with your finger. Leave it over night Wipe it off with a rag the next day and it will be back to the original black 🖤
Keep this bad boi forever mate and you will not regret it! these early sohc 4L engines can take a decent amount of boost/psi possibly 22psi? Iv got a 93' ED Fairmont Auto as a daily and its just super reliable. with a few mods iv managed to get the fuel usage reader down to 7.3L per 100km on the highway. Get rid of the clutch fan off the engine n get some twin thermos from a EF-EL, also chuck a highflow thermostat in just to be sure it won't overheat quickly if you forget to turn the fans on.
Should try and find all the woodgrain interior parts from a ghia model and the digital dash such a nice car though. Dont lpg convert it the savings on fuel is not worrh it

Mines actually a 94 ED Fairmont but is now all tickford spec besides the diff ( i have a 3:45 to go in ) interior is a mix of ghia and XR. Thing that bothers me with it is when it's cold its got plenty of up and go but when it reaches operating temp it loses power...🤷
I got a commodore omega series 2 2011 for free from the ole father, and I'm only on my L's drove it for 9 hours when I first got it from a city to the bush/home
Dude this is the business. Confused those at why it has the T5 stick shift in a Fairmont (according to the rear badge) & what looks like the Ghia interior. In the EB, the manual wasn't available in the Fairmont range. So do you know what spec the car left Broadmeadows factory in 1992/93?
@@maxgal another thing with these e series is keep a eye on the headgasket as it could be original if it does blow can be fixed by upgrading to a au mls head gasket

I'm in nsw and it's one of the only legal v8s I can drive while on my red p's but it still goes like a beast

highly reccomend a custom grind. try to avoid a off the shelf one. yeah same mate of mine is building a roll racing intech hahaha 500kw setup,@@maxgal

Yeah 100% thermo will be a mod soon. Less for the engine to turn so more power and economy. Who knows for turbo in future

recommend some ecotec injectors over au cheaper and also a ev4 drop in i el ecu and j3 chip will also wake the motor up

Are you sure those are AU injectors? Usually they are all black and are the skinnier type rather than the fat e series ones.
