- Here we see the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy Type 052C guided-missile destroyer Xi'an (153) in Germany's Kiel Canal. The ship was on its way back from St. Petersburg, Russia where it took part in a military parade. Xi'an measures 155 metres in length and was commissioned on 9 February 2015. 最好的问候

Such a massive difference from the main vessels of the PLA Navy back in the 1990's.
The Chinese navy now has 6 of this type, 26+ of the improved Type 052D/DE, 8 of the very large Type 055 DDG and 12 or so older but still effective destroyers.
They also have 30 Type 054A FFG frigates. And 12 other modern FFG and around 70 Type 056/056A FSG light frigates

The angles taken in this video is outstanding. Agree with a lot of the comments here that this ship is a good looking one. And I'm surprised at how quiet it is. If you were looking the other way, you could have easily not known it was there sailing past you.

If u think this ship is cool, check out China's newest destroyer class, the type 055. Best looking destroyer imo and considered to be the second most powerful destroyer in the world, after the Zumwalt class (However there are only 3 Zumwalt class built, and the rest are cancelled). :)
@@Chickenworm9394 Thats why China only built 6, its the beginning of their aegis type destroyers. Their were way happier with the 052D (one in the video is the 052C) and they built around 30 of those, and they also already built 8 055 destroyers with more on order. The 055s are considered to be the second most powerful destroyer after the Zumwalt class. (But only 3 Zumwalt class destroyers are built and the rest are cancelled).

@@ryguymdphd No, the life of a series of ships can be over two decades. The Type 052 series is about a decade old and has already been three variants Type 052B, 052C and now the newest 052D. You can tell if it is the D variant by the rectangular VLS versus the round VLS on the C variant.

I'll bet the paint isn't even dry. That's the cleanest ship I've ever seen after a 5000 plus trip.
It has visited many countries in this one trip.
It is actually one of the PLA Navy's older ships commissioned in 2015 !
First 052C was commissioned in 2004, the one in video is the last commissioned in 2015, 9 in total, after then until now 9 052D were commissioned, 6 others in the same Shipyard but look like already launched in water as (spy) photo showed.
You mean the paint isnt cured yet. Epoxy paint dries pretty fast. Its just the curing that takes a long time. Ive painted some navy boats and they use some pretty tough stuff if you ask me.
What I know, 052c is pretty old back to 2005. They have 052D and even 055 in 2019, which is soooo huge!

this class 052C is already outdated and stopped production many years ago.

Well it seems that your technology is overtaking USA . If that’s outdated for China, then for other countries, this destroyer is very formidable not to mention the total tube of 48 missile vertical luncher and back to back total of 2 CIWS. I just hope China won’t show as the aggressor and bully to any other Asian countries where they claim the entire sea of the West Philippines Sea including close-in border of Vietnam.

true the type 052C is not multipurpose, it is mainly for air defence but still is quite modern , 48 HHQ-9 missiles is by no means outdated, it will be usefull in escorting future carriers along with 2 type 055 for each.

It is a 052C alright. Those 48 round-shaped VLS are a dead giveaway. And it has two CIWS. The successor 052D has 64 rectangular VLS. Only one CIWS, with the rear CIWS being replaced by 24 short-ranged missiles. The 052D is also being succeeded by 055, which has 112 VLS and is classified as a cruiser at 12,000-ton. I also found the exact same ship (#153 ship, Xi’an) in this video blocking the way of a US Arleigh Burke class destroyer lol th-cam.com/video/1vhJHpVjigQ/w-d-xo.html

I think the most dead giveaway is the fixed array radars that has humps due to using passive aircooling

Is that ship headed to the gulf of mexico. The coordinates are :- 23° NE & 58°SW. All ahead speed 25knots and you'll reach there in 3 days.

There is another youtube stating it has reached alexandria egypt. So it so quiet, that the royal british navy did detect it.
If you can sail thru' the straits of taiwan, I can sail thru' the English Channel.

Ich danke Dir vielmals! Das habe ich alles alleine gefilmt. Sind immer ein paar Kilometer, die man da fahren muss. Aber da die Schiffe im NOK recht langsam unterwegs sind, kann man das ganz gut schaffen. Ist auf jeden Fall toll, dass dort am Kanal so viele unterschiedliche Perspektiven möglich sind. Ist nicht besonders modern... ein Typ-052C, welches auf dem Typ-051B basiert, und noch in den 80ern entwickelt wurde. Die Klasse war bei der Einführung in 2004 schon veraltet. Mittlerweile ist die größere und modernere Typ-052D die gängige Variante, aber auch dieses basiert auf dem alten Schiff.
Ein komplett neues Schiff (Typ-055) wird gerade eingeführt. Jedoch ist erst eines von sechs geplanten Schiffen im Dienst.

Super Aufnahmen von dem Chinesischen Marineschiff. Ein toller Fang von dir. Interessant zu sehen wie der Anker da knapp über der Wasseroberfläche hängt. Die Szenen von der Brücke mit Blick auf das Schiff sind auch super. Das war ja ein Highlight im NOK. Daumen hoch dafür.

Any ship passing the Kiel Canal is required to have the anchor ready for an Emergency stop.
