To be fair the plot in older Disney fairytale movies may seem maybe too simple or have many "fillers" like with the songs. Thats because the original fairytale was only a couple of paragraphs so they had to come up with something to extend it and with the "fillers" they did generally add something to the story. For instance the part where Snow and the Dwarves are singing and dancing shows their bond in a short period which makes it more emotional when it comes to her "death". I personally don't think the themes were bad, they were teaching no matter how bad things get, (you are allowed to be upset) but you eventually need to pull yourself together, be strong, optimistic and have hope that things will get better. As for the Prince, the reason he doesn't do much is firstly because they weren't used to animating Princes yet, for he was originally going to be kidnapped then have an escape scene. And secondly ever notice why the Prince here and two other movies have no name (not going to spoil which movies they are, incase you haven't seen them). It's because they are supposed to be a symbolic representation of growing up, where the female lead goes from child to woman. The evil queen (who also doesn't have a name) is a symbolic representation of the thing that prohibits her from growing up. When she is cursed Snow is unable to complete the transition, until the Prince wakes her, when she is then a "woman". Because the Prince in fairytales are symbolic representations of the female's maturity, that she is ready to grow up, (get married have children, e.c.t) In short when Snow says she want her prince, she means she wants to grow up, and the evil queen poisons her so she can't and the prince wakes her so she can. And they don't rotoscope which I believe means tracing the live action models. They simply only use them as a reference ( Disney people make it perfectly clear that they don't rotoscoping lol). Lastly I love your video its your opinion at the end of the day, and I am exciting for more Disney content. :)
