Magnet fishing. Something a little different. When I was a young sailor in the USN (1969-1995) I used a heavy magnet off the side of the ship, in port of San Diego, and Long Beach. Fellow sailors thought I was crazy until they saw what I was pulling up. Tools like grease guns, screw driver's, complete electric drills, needle guns used to chip paint, walk mans, etc. You name it we may have found it. It was a lot of fun to pass time, even caught a ship a few times. (like to side of the ship I was tossing the magnet from. Enjoyable video folks keep them coming.

Lincoln Park was one of my fav “old” LA parks to metal detect and fish! It’s one of the oldest parks in Los Angeles....I caught so many big largemouth bass in that pond 3-4 years ago....I even caught a 30+ lb koi there....since then over 95% of the fish died off in the pond because of an algae bloom, along with my koi I had caught and realeased 6 months earlier.. I really miss fishing there....I caught bass to 8 pounds there. I’ve seen a few people magnet fishing like you there....back in the 80’s-90’s, guns were being found in the pond......As far as old coins, they were prolific there, but my buddies and myself have really hunted the park hard for nearly 15 years, and a wheatie or two is a good day there now. Surprised you didn’t try metal detecting one of the oldest parks in LA....but it has been hunted very hard by a couple of my buddies (and myself) last year, who are some of the top deep/old coin hunters in the country...no joke...we averaged 250-500 silver coins a piece per year for many years here in LA.
Interesting info.... We had planned on detecting but it got too hot. Besides, you took all the old coins already...lol. I am surprised people still fish in the pond....water is pretty bad
A bowline knot is an easy knot to untie and you can tie it to your belt loop if you don't have a rail to tie it to. Been watching your channel for a while & really enjoy the interaction between you two
Bill, and Cupcake in the hood, Bill, the hills in that park has lots of old coins, they are some what deep, but you can find them with your Nox, I have several Indian head pennies, several silver coins, Lincoln Park has been there forever, Great video.

I'm planning on trying this out myself this year. On another note, I was in Phoenix this week and across from the hotel was a Nothing Bundt Cake shop and I thought of Christine :)

Hi bill that slingshot as you call it is used for firing bait out in the water for fishing lol plus you wanna bob yr magnet up n down at the edge of the jetty ppl drop stuff over the edge or swing it under the jetty

Back in the 80's and 90's Lincoln Park was very dangerous to regular people.... Not a good place to take the kids for a picnic.... Looks like things have improved....🌹

It is fun and pretty simple. You can get a magnet kit on Amazon pretty cheap. I have done it off piers and even pulled up a fishing pole...crazy. No guns yet

Christine I can personally relate to the ewwws, nasty and yuck stuff. I'm not sure I could do magnet fishing here in Oklahoma. I don't really like water that I can't see my feet in and in Oklahoma...that's about all you can find is yuck water.
I just searched on Amazon...there are a lot of setups (magnets with ropes). Just get a fairly strong one. @@DigginSoCal The dirt in that park last time I went was VERY hard to dig. We used a K-bar knife to get a tiny point in the ground.

I have my magnet 🧲 on a carabiner that has a screw on part so that it’s less likely to come undone.
