Thanks for taking us along for the "ride", I'm sure filming it added another 25% to the time it took. Hope the new owner knows they are getting a well repaired vehicle.

I find no fault in this caring, intelligent, balanced Christian man. He will bring current events to us soon enough. My heart is also in love with taking things that most people would discard and taking time to salvage it. Kind of what Christ does for those who will receive him, taking that which had no hope and giving salvation.

I was thinking about air tools the entire time. I actually have an air impact/ratchet but my compressor is about 250' away from my big shop. I used to have some 3/8 beverage line that I'd run along the ground over to the compressor but it has gotten brittle and leaky. I really need to dig a trench and install that grey PVC for air supply to my shop.

@@tomreid5002 I prefer classic GM cars/trucks but Mazda's are about the same as all the other modern mfg's. I know several people that really like them for commuter cars. Let me guess, you must drive a jacked up as high as possible F150 or Dodge, lol. I bet it has truck nuts🤣.

@@TheHandsOnChannel LOL. Its a Dodge 4x4, but not jacked up and no nutz. I had a mazda pick up, and it tried to put me in the poor house. I was constantly working on that thing. Chevy or GMC are my favorite trucks though. A 68 thru 72 Chevy short bed 4x4 is a dream truck.

Hey HO, put it under load with your left foot on the brake and right foot on the fuel with the steering wheel to each direction L and R slowly releasing the brake and you will hear the CV joints rattling. Ball joints / Lower control arm can squeak and rattle as well but CV joints are a start. You can knock them off the shaft with a mini sledgehammer it may be cheaper. I think I have done this procedure a hundred times. Not joking ! 20 minutes each L and R, paid 1.5 hrs per flat rate. Check that the Strut bearing caps aren't just worn may not need complete strut assemblies, as well check the steering rack is secure no worn bushings or inner tie rods. Nip the stabilizer links off with your torches and replace them. Brother ! Get your air tools out zip zip zip !
    Lol

Good tips, thanks. I do need to crawl under and check the steering rack. My supply line from my air compressor is down, so no air tools this time. I was thinking about them the whole time I was wrenchin. The passenger side took me about 5 hours, mainly because the top part of the ball joint would not go back into the hub. I probably spent 3 hours trying to get it in. The drivers side went much quicker and everything went in on the first try. It took me about 2 hours. Considering cv axles, ball joints, struts, end links, and brake pads were changed, I'd say 7 or 8 hours is about as fast as I can go without the aid of air tools.

@TheHandsOnChannel Hey Brother that's not bad time at all , with just hand tools !
      That's a lot of Wrenching.
Sometimes the SOB just won't comply lol, seized, rusted ,stripped all slow ya down, and is very efin aggravating. I did a Saturday overhaul of my wife's Subaru Impreza back in 1999,
      Steering rack
      Oil pan
      4 wheel brake service
      Plugs and AF
      4 tires
      4 wheel alignment
      Between 8a and 3p
Man did I hustle and had no issues thank the Lord,
My wife absolutely needed her car Monday. It was $2200.00 in parts and 10 flat rate hrs was $900 in labor saved by being a Technician. I loved the work for 20 years but it's a young man's sport if ya know what I mean. I drive truck now , more my speed in my mid 50's Lol. I love watching you work HO, it's inspiring. Owning a Harley probably keeps ya in shape with the wrenches eh ! hahahaha. 😉
      Great Video Bud 👍
