I'm surprised nobody mentioned Bullfrog's Dungeon Keeper in their retrospective look at the origins of the genre. You talk about building a maze for enemies to run the gauntlet, DK from 1997 (!) is the OG. They Are Billions was way too frustrating for me due to the lack of a save feature. But I look forward to the release of Diplomacy Is Not an Option. Just one more month to go! Oh, and I'm LOLing at the AI outro right now. Good job on that! 😂
Good cast guys! Never expected a tower defense single malt but hey it is strategy! I want in on the Autobattler show!

The outro cracks me up every time. Love it.
THG is a big proponent of AI usage.

Defense Grid.. Best TD game.
Defense Grid 2 is still my fave tower defense game
Finally!
Been waiting for episode 86 my entire life.
Monsieur Historical Gamer, you must vote for Kamala and the Dems! Promise me.
Welcome Leth & Blxz!
I'm open to open interpretations of genres, but there's some real stretches in this one :p
Hear, hear! IMO if you go that way, anything can be anything and genres losing their meaning
I can comprehend "Frost Punk" as a tower defense, but I'm not an expert or one that plays these types of games.
