That was probably the most impressive kickflip we've had
When cutting a threaded rod, you can put the nut on the rod below where you want to cut it. That way, you can spin the nut off and it will straighten out the crooked threads from the cut.
Once I saw him start cutting I yelled at my phone, “gotta put the nut on first to back cut the treads”. It was an instinct response trying to prevent a problem that I would normally have to fix, even though I had no obligation or way to fix this one.
also - you can file down the edges of the thread at the tip and it usually will smooth it out.
Also - also you can use the grinder the right way around so the sparks aren’t flying up at you. And maybe put the crocks in sport.
You can also snap the top 1/2 thread off with a pair of Channel-locks (pump pliers) in 2 seconds. Clean thread every time.
Or you can just fckn send it

You should do a 40 riser pad full park game of skate. 20 on each side. That seems like a more reasonable, yet still difficult, crazy board to play on.
Every customisation you do to a board is even crazier than the last you give a new meaning to skateboarding

I've made some wacky boards before. I made one with a swing arm suspension in the back and flex in the front and I've made a couple with three wheels and a couple with two wheels and all kinds of things. What I found is counterintuitively lifting the trucks up off the deck a couple inches like 3 in not 20 reduces speed wobbles quite a bit.

The trick to cutting a threaded rod is once the cut is made you have to take the side of the blade and kind of buff the edges of the cut. It will Make it so you can catch the threads easier with the nut

A little tipp for cutting these metal rods, use a small file and deburr the end that you cut inwards. Towards the center of the rod. That way it will allow the nut to go over it easily.

When cutting something with threads there’s a trick if you put a nut on first and cut past where the nut is and after you cut when you back the nut off it will align the threads so the nut goes on easier at the end
This reminds me of the time I took the knuckles from 3 sets of Gullwing sidewinders and put them on one set. The longer the screw the more the bend. They have mountain risers.

I wear a size 16 shoe so I had to use like 2&1/2 - 3 inches of riser to keep my toes/heels from touching the ground whilst carving hills

- it's a real mental trick with that one I was 50/50 it would fold as soon as you stood on it !! ... those risers saved the day with the cross bracing on each one it does have a great effect

What you should have done for cutting the long bolts, is to already have the nut on there and maybe those upside down since they have the plastic and you don’t want to damage those but if you thread it off it will make the threads work right so you don’t have to try to fit it on which most of the time won’t work without putting a bevel around the outsides but you got lucky

Screw the nut onto the thread before you cut so after you cut you can run the bolt over the thread and make it smooth again.

What if you have a normal board without pads, and add the pads on top of the board with another board on top?
Then maybe you'd be able to raise it off the ground more easily, because the bottom board kicks the ground.
That kickflip was fire 🔥. I have a video idea, the centipede skateboard, have as many trucks as you can in a line on the skateboard. Or upside down skateboard where the griptape is on the same side as the trucks. Have a great day

It was often common to have three riser pads in the late 1980s as I recall, 3x1/8" or there abouts.
You get chatter with a counter counter sink if you press hard and go with a slower RPM.
What if super stiff springs were on each bolt? Would that take impact from the braille drop?

Gabe, next time thread the nut on next to where you are going to cut it. That way when you take the nut back off it will clean the threads up versus trying to fight it back on 👍🏼
You always put a nut on first before you cut allthread and use the nut to chase the threads backwards.

In case nobody said this yet, if you put the nut in the screw before cutting, when you unscrew it, it recuts/realigns the threads. Just a tip for future projects

Should've left the nut on the bolt before cutting. Then unscrew the nut afterwards. Makes it easier to 're-thread' the bolt
