    Verse 1

    Verse 2
    What is excellence?
Excellence is doing the best you can with what you have been given
    Verse 3
It is not perfection, you can be excellent without being perfect.
    Verse 3
Excellence is not about comparing yourself with someone else who is really good at what they do.
    Verse 4
Excellence is doing something and asking yourself: "Would God be pleased with this work"
    Verse 5
    NB: Excellence comes from God
    God exhibits this through creation
We are created by God in His image and must reflect the same excellence in our lives.

    Verse 14
It's a personal commitment to dishonor wickedness and excel in righteousness.
    Verse 15
    Matthew 5:20
For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of God.
    Verse 16
You excel for eternity by confessing Jesus as Lord and savior. By not being ashamed of the gospel.

    5. Pursue excellence in giving
Jesus spoke about finances more than 2,000 times in the New Testament.
    Verse 28
He knew that the heart of our surrender to Him and the resulting Spiritual victory is our attitude about material things
    Verse 29
God has put a tremendous emphasis on giving. Why?
We are naturally selfish and stingy-giving is hard, for all of us.But God is challenging us to give:
    i) Our time
    ii) Our Finances
    iii) Our Talents
    Verse 30
As we do, we increase the Kingdom here on this earth and receive material, spiritual and emotional blessings in our lives
    Verse 31
Three principles about giving from 2 Corinthians 9:6-10
    1. The law of harvest applies to your finances
The principle of sowing and reaping applies to our giving
    Verse 32
NB: We don't sow seeds and expect a plant to come up the next day. It takes watering, sunshine and time.
Be assured, that just as a seed will produce a plant, your generosity will result in return
    Verse 33
    2. We reap more than we sow
3.We reap in proportion to what we sow
