Hello, I am really interested on finding measure information for 1/4 size contra bass. I only need to know the distance in cm, mm or inches between the body and the neck. I am thinking the highest point of the neck to the body. can you tell me ? please. thank you.
In my opinion, the more traditional and simple wooden extension systems are a justifiable compromise to keep the original neck and not going 5 string, but one might agree that this metal mechanism, although more handy, does not blend in to this fine instrument that well.
So, the whole thing is to lower the action, right? The old guy says that the bass "will get easier to play". My intuition is that the neck protruding more + fancy mods to the bridge would get the trick done, right? BTW, beautiful work!
Los contrabajos modernos tienen el ángulo del mástil más inclinado y el puente más grande. Esto da más margen para bajar o subir las cuerdas. Si te fijas, este contrabajo tiene un puente pequeño y no se puede bajar más según comentan los luthiers
Interesting! 👍🏼 keep on posting stuff like this. Thank you 😊
Very Nice Bass 😍🎻
Fantastico!!
Any Chance you could tell me where that beautiful poster of the "English double basses"? I want one badly
They are fine art prints from Arpeggio Publishing - www.arpeggio-publishing.com, stunning aren't they!

No entendí bien la razón por la cual van a modificar el mango, si alguno me puede aclarar...
