Recording 30 bpm slower and deeper, then bringing it back up for production, produced such a beautiful melody. It's almost the audio-equivalent of when videographers film videos with everybody singing/acting in over-speed and then slow it down to give it that slow-mo effect, while still keeping pace with the track. A good example of this is the Rosenrot video from Rammstein. Never pressed subscribe faster!
As probably most of the people commenting I saw you in the 4 producers video. I gotta say your track was without doubt the best one. It's really really good! You absolutely killed it! PLEASE make more videos, and longer videos! I'd love to hear more of your music and learn more of what it is you do. Would love some tutorials on how you work within Ableton Live and how you use different plugins etc. You have a new fan in me for sure ❤️
I am glad that I found your TH-cam shorts. You're love for the craft really shines through in your videos. I love seeing people enjoy what they do. Look forward to seeing more of these videos.
Hello So Wylie. Great job young lady! 👏 - I am an old-school, classic R&B and Funk musician. To help you relate to me more specifically,, imagine the music of Parliament-Funkadelic, Prince, the GAP Band, Herbie Hancock, and George Duke, b/c they were my primary influences. I must say, I'm completely amazed by how music is created today. It's so completely different than me taking one of my workstation keyboards, and building a song track by track, simply recording the piano or electric piano for chords, a bass track, a drum track, and possibly strings, and/or horns, along with various "moving" and rhythmic parts like rhythm guitar, or rhythmic clavinet style parts, and then capping that all off with my lead and back ground vocals. That's the old-school way of doing things. Yet I look at your song creation and recording process, and it's so different. Using vocal sounds, and changing them into playable musical instruments is just amazing to me. - And taking synth sounds, and pads, and crunching them, arpeggiating them, fragmenting them, and filtering them just blows me away. I love it! The finished product sounds great. Keep up the great work, and thanks for providing a renewed sense of excitement and anticipation for an old-schooler's dim view on the future of popular music. I thank you. 😎
i am here generating more traffic on your social medias because holy fuck your song was a masterpiece, your voice went absolutely perfectly with the textures you created!
I almost never comment on videos but I just felt really compelled to say this, given the impact your channel has had on me. You are such a cool, impressive person. You come off as eminently grounded, knowledgeable, and fully capable of articulating your creative vision. I spent a year taking time off work to focus exclusively on production and, ideally, prepare myself for a career that reflects yours. I'm not as skilled as you yet, but I think I'm within range given a year or two of continued focus. Your channel, music, and content are downright inspiring. Ive rarely encountered producers with this much musical range or fluency. I keep returning to this page to get reminded of not only how to compose and process music with a deft hand, but how to hold beliefs and practices related to music with the grace you naturally efuse. Keep up the fantastic work. Excited to follow your creative journey for the remainder of my life. All the best, and thanks for having a passion and character worth role modeling.
I saw your auto tune ad on snapchat and I just fell in love with your style of production, I'm so glad to see you collating with Andrew!! You're insanely talented, can't wait to hear more from you
I thought your track was super good and this longer video is really nice to watch your processing. Thanks for taking the time to create and upload it! 😎👍
You are so incredibly inspiring. It's such a treat to find female sound engineers AND ones that make the kind of music I like. Please, please, please post more videos like this. It's unbelievably helpful as a newb synth player. Much love!
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDETTE. Sheeesh, your track is bloody amazing :D Just watched the whole thing on Andrews channel. I've seen some of your shorts, but never a full production. I'd be down to seeing more of these full production videos. You're as talented as they come. Keep it up:)
I really enjoyed this track and the breakdown! There are so many little ear-tickling elements that make it fun to listen to over and over. Looking forward to more long-form content.
Yours, Rachel's and Andrew's tracks were all bangers. Your production is next level though, absolutely crisp and precise. It is clear that you are a mix engineer!
Just came on here to fangirl about how amazing your remix of Human Nature by Lorelei Marcell is, I scratch my brain with that song pretty much everyday and am so inspired by your sound/art IN GENERAL ❤ you make some of the funnest music to listen to! Thanks for teaching us your studio magic!!
I'll say this as someone whose followed your IG for a long time now: Long form is def best. Your productions and process are really intricate and I think people (myself included) really just wanna listen to you go through your workflow in a depth that IG reels can't capture!
This is so awesome! I'm in a music business class at my college right now and your video helped me understand the creative process of production so much more. I'm inspired and motivated to explore this technology and process further!
Hit song! Production is top notch! Arturia is very lucky to have you showcase their goods. But more important, you gave my ears the most wonderful music and tag. I like when you come around! I hope you have artist management to take you to the top of the flag pole. Wishing you massive success!
I love the idea of recording pitched down at a slower tempo and then speeding it back up, I'm definitely going to experiment with that. The resulting vocal sound reminds me of Four Tet - Baby. Also, the song evolves wonderfully and remains interesting throughout whilst still feeling cohesive. Love it!
You are incredibly amazing at what you do! Would LOVE to see the whole process from you sitting down and coming up with a fresh idea. The thought process, etc! 🤩🤩
I love your work and approach of music, so refreshing! As a newbie in music production I was also curious about the computer's specs needed to make music like this.
You killed it. So happy to discover you. So bummed there isn't way more Wylie content to drink! Wow. Lovely talented human. Also, those little vocal runs you went over towards the end TOTALLY remind me of Louis Cole.
This was by far one of the best full production videos I have ever seen! I loved that you labeled all the buttons and features on the different plug ins and explained what they did for your track. I am new to music production and have no knowledge about this stuff at all. It’s hard to find music production tutorials tailored for beginners. Can’t wait to watch more from you ❤
Came from 4 producers series. Love this track...love your overall vibe! Your Shorts are super fun...hope to see more full length down the road. Thanks for sharing.
that little trick to pitch down by 2 semis and slow down by 30 bpm is really nice, reminds of recording vinyl sped up (originally to save sample time), from what it adds to a vibe, just a different take on it.
Damn watching this video and your entire process really helped with my writer's block. Great insight and I really hope you continue making these sort of vids. Also, insane track!
Great video, your shorts are superb, I was super suprised to see that you'd only made a few. I can see this cbannel getting massive fast. Keep up the great work!!
I found out about you through the 4 producers!!! I love your choice of sounds and how you tell your story as well!!! I love story tellers through music!!! New to your channel!!!
Subscribed! Loved what you brought to the 4 Producers challenge. Being fairly new to music production myself, I feel so inspired by your tips and tricks particularly around the way you slowed down the vocal recording, some really cool production ideas here. Been following RachelKC for a while, look forward to following you too. Loving the 80's vibe of your full track, well done : )
Wylie, Loved this track! Especially loved the susurrations of the breathing Augmented Voices sound. It really made the song special for me. I didn't want the song to end and every time that breathing part came in it was like ear candy! Been listening to this over and over in the car on Apple music. It feels like this song has the substance to be extended into a longer format track. Enjoying your entire Apple music catalog. Thank you so much for sharing your musical talent with us!
Girl it would be so great if you could share with us more videos like this kind of like a tutorial showing us more of the way you do things.Loved your song!
I love your TH-cam shorts so much and the way you make your beats and sounds and I am actually getting into make beats and sounds and music over all, and i love video editing so thank you for this and also you are so beautiful and I love your vibe.
You are doing great. First I have heard of you was yesterday when I watched the 4 producer series- that was phenomenal. You are so impressive. Looking forward to getting more content from you.
I liked the textures and the 80's vibe you created in this plus it's amazing to see how someone produces because I've just started trying to produce music and it's a bit of a learning curve.
Girl you are so good! Loved what you did with your vocal riffs, it sounded like maybe a quick violin after the reverb. Loved the drums too. Glad I found your channel today, I hope you can continue to teach us too! ❤ subscribed
Hey 👋 I can’t stop listening to this track! I’m a producer and singer from 🇿🇦 Wanted to ask a q re your vocal chops that you stacked at the end: do you mainly cut from the lead and tune and stack to build harmonies? Also with your lead that you record 2 half steps down and 30 bpm slower, do you put it on ‘repitch’ warp mode in order to get that formant shifted effect? Would be super cool to hear how you process your lead vocals and stacking. Anyway, thanks for being an inspiration! 💃🏻
This was one of the best 4 Producers breakdown videos I've watched! Not only was the track great but you also explained your use of the plugins really well. I love using Efx Fragments, and this video gave me a bunch of new ideas on how to use it, thanks! I've subscribed and look forward to more long form content (especially if it's Rev Intensity or Efx Fragments related :) )
Still can’t get over the drums & melody in this 😍 soooo good
ty so much friend!!!

@@sowyliemusic what microphone are you using here?

thanks so much!! never thought of that but that is a perfect analogy! (analogy? whatever that’s called haha)
I always slow my tracks down when recording in baselines so I can intricate bass lines instead of just boring house type foundation bass lines
You’re brilliant 🍭✨
