    yes it can shock you but its not the battery that can do that, you don't need the comb, it would be like being scared of changing the battery in your tv remote.
    It is the capacitor for the flash (that black thing looking like a short battery you can see behind the camera flash) that can shock you, and some points of the circuit attached to it, which is pretty much the stuff you were touching around with your fingers.
    To discharge the capacitor just short the two leads with a screwdriver, it will be a nice spark (repeat again to be sure)

    Why are the photos blurry? The mistake made here, was that you didn't unscrew the lens from the mount in the disposable camera. If that had happened, the base would have sat flush against the back of the body cap... Your version sits a lot closer to the sensor than it should. Have another go dude, and you'll get good results I think!

      Totally agree.
      Kodak disposable camera works better sa the lens has a little bit different shape, in order to make it work it has to be outside of the cap of about 5mm, I’ve done it two days ago and the photos are in focus and not blurry, it’s really fun to use and think about making a couple for some friends of mine

      @kezocreate 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @NickBeccalori what you put on the cap to make it 5mm above?

      I made this exact lens a few months ago. I found that Fujifilm lenses need to be further away from the sensor than Kodak lenses. I placed my fujifilm lenses outside of the camera screw cap, not inside. Then secured it with epoxy and electrical tape to avoid light coming in. My lens is sharp in the middle, with a gradual distortion in the edges. It’s my favorite lens.

      @ I’m not in Fuji system anymore :) I still have that cap but don’t remember where, I can remember I’ve took away the “lens” from the disposable camera and clean the whole surface, keeping only som mm of flat plastic. Then drill a hole in the cap of the same dimension (12mm?) and cleaned a little bit the drill. Installed it and “blocked” everything (especially outside) with some loctite and Kintsuglue…the photos looked like a disposable camera but not blurry at all

  • @DylanRotich
    @DylanRotich ปีที่แล้ว +31

    Why don't companies just make this and sell it for different cameras for around $20? I assume it wouldn't be hard to manufacture if it's all plastic

    This has probably been said in the comment section but if you put an old credit card outside the cap and then the lens housing instead of inside, it fixes the focus. I tried it with the same cap and disposable camera as you. Good luck!

    You should try focusing this lens with an helicoid, might be interesting for a video. Also, have you ever thought of doing the same with a rangefinder? Like in the DIY videos of Vintage Optiks, taking a non-fuctional rangefinder and giving a new purpose to its lens

    I don't think this has worked out. I have seen it done before with much better results. I don't exaclty know, what went wrong, but everything is just out of focus. That is weird, because usually these lenses are f10.

    • @ZanhIsMe
      @ZanhIsMe ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the lens is made for 35mm film (full frame sensor) but his camera is apsc sensor that why the focus is blur

      @@ZanhIsMethat’s not it. It is just too close to the sensor. The way he made it would be just as badly out of focus on a full frame sensor.

    • @james-greenhalgh

      Thank you! Chances are your camera is refusing to take photos because it thinks a lens is not attached, to solve this, find and enable a setting in your camera called something like "Allow shooting without lens". I'm not sure what it's exactly called on canon cameras but It will be there in your settings.
