@@analyticalhabitrails9857 unfortunately I haven’t found out anything about the son or anyone else making those wind chimes, so I ended up buying a couple of Music of the Spheres wind chimes, which are handmade in Austin and the sound is absolutely beautiful and they seem to be well made.

@@analyticalhabitrails9857 So sorry.....no idea. As it turned out, Music of the Spheres chimes in Austin TX is run by other folks. If you're looking for chimes, they are excellent and great to work with. But it sounds like you may be trying to locate Blankard and that seems to be a mystery for now. as far as I've been able to find....I can only assume they might have just retired. Music of the Spheres seem to offer the same type of chimes that are tuned to specific notes and super good quality. I did end up ordering from them and very happy.
Unfortunately Davis Blanchard passed away and I am not sure that Franz is continueing. I have purchased about 10 of these in the past 15 years and they are beautiful. I am looking for an artist that even "closely" compares to this duo in tone and construction. If anyone has any additional information regarding Franz or another company affiliated with them, I would certainly appreciate the information.
@@VariablePotpourri Also Music of the Spheres makes some Bass chimes as well, and you can get a purer resonance out of them by putting a rubber band around the striker's circumference. Alliance Pale Crepe Gold number 82 and 84 might work well for that. Alternatively, swapping out the stock striker with a softer striker would also work.
I am trying to track down a wind chime that I believe was made by Davis Blanchard, it belonged to my mother (now deceased), the tune was 'Ancient Echo' and it was both beautiful and haunting. Sadly, the wind chime was destroyed in a house fire. I've wanted one of my own now for some time, for sentimental reasons. Any information would be helpful.
Strikers shouldn't hit the dead center of chimes but be near the ends for the best sound. Your mathematician dad and musical training didn't tell you that?

Correct on Music of Spheres . No Blanchard chimes tho they do create a similar product.
