The second hardest boss battle in the game. He's harder if you use Harle, since he can oneshot her (and falls just short of oneshotting Lynx), but I find it more fun to use her anyways-- I like her, plus the game needed a little bit of additional challenge anyways.

However WITHOUT the enemies always miss cheat both this boss and Miguel can 1 hit Kill Lynx so without that cheat on NEVER use Harlie for the same reason she will die in 1 hit.
I beat him just equip a shit ton of healing elements for everyone and it's a battle of outlasting the son of bitch and eventually you whoop his ass. So focus on healing and if your topped off hit him with spells and debuffs then.
Without the Evade cheat NEVER use Harlie here or against Miguel BOTH can kill even LYNX at full HP in 1 hit so using Harlie without the Evade boost cheat against both is NOT worth it just use Starky/Norris instead against BOTH.
Diminish is still kind of worthless Miguel could still possibly kill Lynx with Holy Dragon Sword after you nuse it. But I only used all the cheats in the remaster BECAUSE they exist.
You wouldn't need cheats if you just googled. I figured out the diminish physical attack only strategy through reading gamefaqs. It just sounds like you're tryna justify your lack of patience.
No I could beat bosses without the cheats but I still used the cheats BECAUSE they exist. I did the same of FF7 to 9 kept the Infinite HP/MP/Limit ( Trance) cheat + 3x speed turned on for those as well but even with Diminish I could still have Triple cut Will breaker and Miguel's Holy dragon sword still possibly kill Lynx in 1 hit that' why using Harlie against both is NOT worth it.
I beat Garai and Miguel without a single death with THREE innate blacks (Harle Wight Knight and Lynx) in my first run MULTIPLE times WITHOUT Diminish. Just pay attention to your stamina revovery, watch the field, chain/combo elements tactically off of three full stamina bars,. and carry multiple ALL healing elements. The biggest mistake i see people make is attacking and element combos in the same turn. Its ok to do but negative stamina can really put you in a tight spot in big boss battles. Considering "fatigued" a white elemental status effect that increases stamina consumption is common in white elements it is ideal to watch stamina in white elemental fights. one of the overlooked aspects on why some of the hardest bosses as lynx were against white innates

Equip your two side characters with dreamer's scarf, eagle eye and strengthen then use it on Lynx
This guy killed me a lot of times during my first playthrough back then.
I thought he was the hardest boss until I fought Dario.
I thought Dario was the hardest boss until I fought him in real life. Six months later, it can take a very long time.
Dario can be made a snap if you know how his AI and counters work and have the Black Plate. Garai you just have to slug it out.
