I was looking up ergonomic rotary cutters yesterday like Tracey @TheSewingChannel uses. Now I have to decide which size to purchase…decisions, decisions! She showed in a recent video some life-changing tips for using minky on the back of a quilt. I’m so happy that she published that video before I back the baby quilt I’m making. Your fabric piles pale to mine! I know you can work through yours. Sew with joy, Becky! 😘
Thank you, Lynn! I forgot to mention the ergonomic rotary cutter I bought at the Sewing Expo this year. It works ok, but it is a little awkward going around corners because the handle is on one side. Still, it's a good thing to try. I've seen some good hacks for using minky to back quilts. I'll have to check out Tracey's!
Beautiful makes! I know exactly what you mean about piles and the sewing space getting a little bit disorganized. I was sewing in a frenzy before leaving on vacation and when I got back this weekend, I couldn’t believe the state of my sewing room! 😂 I really need to get this room re-organized and cleaned up! Can’t wait to see your finished Arden Pants! 💞
Thank you, Izzie! I'm still trying to get motivated to clean up. LOL, I get so easily distracted when I clean up that I end up wanting to completely re-do my room! But, I'm going to get going SOON. I am sooo excited about your vacation to the UK; I really want to go. Happy Sewing!
Ah, nothing lifts the spirit like putting all the stuff away! 😁 Haha My room gets cluttered when I'm not working in it, which seems against logic, but there it is. It is nice to be able to find stuff! I'm down to finishing a pair of shorts and then I need to finish a Heather Blazer I had started this spring (and it got too warm) Then I get to cut something new 😁 The Harmony is lovely, and there's nothing like sister time, amiright? I'm grateful to have mine 1/2 hr away, and we see each other often. Put on some happy pop music and get r done! You got this!
Yes, indeed! Thank you so much for your encouragement! I have been thinking about making a blazer for fall, but have no fabric for it, (believe it or not) but I'm trying to cut back on buying fabric. Who makes the Heather blazer? I am thinking about making the Jasika blazer from closet core. Happy sewing!🥰
@@GoSewBeautiful Heather blazer is from Friday Pattern Company. I ordered the whole project from Stylemaker with LAST years' birthday discount haha. It's more unstructured and casual, much less tailoring. Now that fall is coming I will be able to use it. If it's finished. 🙃 You're probably all ready to go now!
Lovely Rhapsody. Nice to see it in a cotton. You’re a good friend. I’m working on two Harmony tops that I want done before moving on to fall sewing. They are my first LN patterns, so I’m interested to see how they fit. Have a great week! 😊-Deborah
Hey Deborah, I have the harmony top as well, but have not made it yet for myself. The LN patterns I've made usually fit fairly well. Hope yours turns out great!😍
Hi Becky ,its very tireing all that driving ,i find things take longer to recover from as i get older. I do like the jacket your wearing, it suits you. I need to clear my alterations pile, as its getting far too big lol. Take care, hugs Jean.xx
I wind off 2 bobbins from serger cones and use 1 as the main thread and one in the bobbin. Means everything matches and I am not buying extra threads but also means a thread stand isn't necessary. I've almost never finished a cone. I've also started buying only 2 cones of each colour and winding off bobbins to use in the needles of the serger, to use on the sewing machine and for the coverstitch. Yes, I need a lot of bobbins but I buy generic ones in bulk. It works for me :)
Hi Becky! I know you didn’t make it, but I must say that the tie die jacket looks so nice on you! I always feel so much better after I get a clutter mess cleaned up. Hope your cleanup makes you feel the same way 🙂 Haha! I have to laugh at you finding the board you were going to write on that you needed navy thread…only to find the board and see it already written on it 🤣 I’m just laughing because it’s something I can totally see myself doing!
Thank you, Michelle! I love my tie dye Hoodie. I will try doing tie dye one of these days. I'm looking forward to getting organized, so I can find things and get my memo board hung up so I can keep track of things I need! Happy Sewing!😊
LOVE those linen trousers. I don't know if this was mentioned in the previous video, but you can also use baking soda as an alternative to soften cotton or try using both baking soda and vinegar. If you google it you can find a few blogs on the right ratio to use to get a soften top. I agree with you, I can't work in an unorganized craft room. I get depressed really easily. I switches from rotary to scissors for the same reason you mentioned in this video. They hurt my hands, and the screw or knob that holds the blade in place come undone and I have to stop and fix it. Its a pain, so I stopped using them.
Thanks, Tea! Great minds think alike! I'll have to try the baking soda next time I wash my cotton fabric. I procrastinate cleaning up because I've always got a new project to work on. But I'm going to do it this time! Thanks for watching!😍
I'm working on a few projects that I have cut out a year ago. I want to start on new things but forcing myself to work on the already cut out projects of toos.
You put a big grin on my face with the memo board lovely blouses great thift find
Thank you, Robyn! I made myself laugh, when I saw it.😆. I love thrift shopping 🛍. Have a great week!
Beautiful blouses, Becky! And, that hoodie jacket is a fab thrift store find! Looking forward to seeing your completed Ardens! 💗
Thanks, my friend! I am really enjoying finding some new thrift stores. I love seeing all the things you find.🥰

Hi Jean, Alterations are my least favorite things to sew, until I want to actually wear it! Happy Sewing! Hugs to you, too!🥰

What a great idea! Thank you so much for sharing! Bobbins are pretty cheap. I'll have to try that next time. 😁

Those tops are gorgeous. I have the Love Notions pattern but haven't sewn it up just yet.
Thank you! Love Notions patterns are probably my favorite Indie pattern company. I'm sure you will love yours!😍

Thank you, Janet! You go girl! Happy Sewing! Thanks for watching! 😊
I am looking to buy some electric scissors. I do have arthritis
Let me know how they work! Maybe I should consider using them as well .🤔😉
