I hope when we one day become posthumans and digitize our consciousness, that we keep our emotions, feelings, and individualities which are what makes us human, and not some emotionless machine that just does stuff.
There have been many franchises that tackled the idea of hive minds, giving up one's individuality etc, one example being Deus Ex: Invisible War. There, the humans could communicate with an AI construct that administrated the planet, and it responded to every one's individual needs, also encouraging humans to communicate with each other. But they still wouldn't, because despite the arrangement being for the good (except for the loss of privacy), the humans still wanted to preserve their individuality and refused to open themselves up to others. On the other hand, for example the Khala in the Starcraft franchise, the psychic link that connected the Protoss, was from their perspective something good and they greatly lamented its loss out of necessity. It also formed the basis of their religion and led to a lot of discrimination of those who would willingly reject it. It never cost the Protoss their individual identities, though, so it's a very similar scenario to the one described above from Deus Ex. There are many much more sinister scenarios available too, with complete consciousness melding and full loss of individuality, that's way more ominous I'd say.

It would be interesting if on the other channel Marvelous you explained the anatomy of the alternative spider girl Peni Parker since she is inspired by animea and Japanese mangas, mainly Evangelion .
MarvelousAnime, i have a question after watching several of these videos about nge. And the blind spots i am seeing in these videos is making me question and doubt everything i have learned from your other videos. Are you aware of the real-world concept of Christianity? I dont have the time or patience to explain all the parallels between christian theology (what it actually entails and not what modern people think it does) and neon genesis evangelion. Which literally translates to "The New Gospel" You may only see edgy imagery from 90s anime. But have you considered that it is actual inte tional symbolism and maybe all of these events are clearly described in the source of inspiration? Any analysis of Evangelion that subtracts the explicit and overt religious nature of the property is doomed to miss important concepts ideas and events and to make erroneous conclusions based on their own lack of insight. The most eggeegious mistake is attributing anything lositive to Gendo. Not because i hate him. But because it made no sense. You claim Gendo wants to be reuinited with Yui which is why he does all this shit he was already doing before losing yui and only lost yui in pursuit of these goals. His "reunification" with Yui is how Gendo(a manipulative liar and cruel self centered prick) frames his own ascent to Godhood at the expense of literally all other life. Because it technically "ends" suffering by ensuring noone is around to suffer(except shinji and asuka lol) Evas are oni or the closest western analogue Demons. They fight Angels. Explicitly the messangers of God. It is explicitly the abrahamic God they serve and whether they present eden as another world or a metaphysical garden it is still adam and eve as the progenitors of humanity. With adams secret first wife lilith as a big bad. This is also reflected in actual theology. Why do you think every demon mother in every property is called lilith? These concepts are explored and built upon in apocryphal christian literature like the gnostic gospels, which were literally found in the Dead Sea scrolls and the Nag hamadi library. Jewish Kabalah deals with this as does early christian mysticism. All built on near east apocalyptic literature(i.e the bible). Japan loves jungian psychology and gnosticism. Franchises from final fantasy and persona to nge and many others deal with this. Every game where you kill god with the power of friendship is this. The god tou are killing is usually a stand in for or explicitly stated to be the Demiurge or Yadbaloth. That is not a coincidence. And the religious imagery isnt just for edginess. It is explicitly part of the message and you overlooking that aspect entirely on a work literally built on it sith themes directly taken from it is a massive disservice and undermines any faith in the level of analysis you offer. I also dont think it is unreasonable that you would just avoid that stuff for fear of algorithmic or reactionary backlash from religious people. But my stance on that is if you can not cover it, honestly choose a different topic.
That is very well worded. The only reason I think they may have not mentioned the religious symbolism is because one of the chief animators stated that most of the imagery was chosen because it "looked cool." The Christian symbols were different to what the Japanese culture usually understood, so those were in essence very alien to the vast majority at the time the show aired. However that should be taken with a grain of salt because that is what I have read about the symbolism in NGE, and as I am not one of the many talented people to have worked on it, I would not be anywhere near the proper authority on the religious implications.
thanks, i finished watching evangelion a few days ago, and i didnt understand shit, the only thing i knew is that something got terribly wrong, and third impact, my IQ is not that high

The only reason i don't like evangelion is because of the gore and brutality it has, otherwise i would've liked it
CALLÁTE

Ah, the fight against the angels. The most screen hogging b-plot in anime.

Nope, not watching videos with blurred mirrored images as borders.
Except this isn't how this goes down in the REBUILD trilogy. Which is canon.
I thought they just died😂
Gendou sucks
I know,right? I hate the dude.
This video got a few things wrong that even I could spot... and got some character names horribly wrong but I guess that's bound to happen when you make a video based off of spark notes. Dude 100% didn't watch yhe show.
Evangelion is so fucking boring
