I appreciated the "walk through"! I would enjoy that and then a follow up video with more opinions/discussion of meaning if you were to continue the series.
I like your approach. Sharing an opinion encourages others to share their opinion. Reading the Scriptures with very little commentary does more to create a desire for conversation. If I had any suggestion it would be to make a distinction between the texts that are prescribing and describing something about the Lord's Supper and those that perhaps are pointing us to and preparing us for the Lord's Supper but aren't only about the Supper. For example, I absolutely believe that John 6 compels us to the Lord's Supper but I'm not sure that it is only about the meal. I haven't read the whole book but I did once listen to a lecture that was based on the book, "Eating God's Sacrifice: The Lord's Supper Portrayed in Old Testament Sacrifice." It was written by Dan Brege. He digs deep into the Old Testament sacrifices and meals and demonstrates a pretty obvious connection with the Lord's Supper. Keep up the good work, Jonathan. The Lord bless and keep you! In His Grace, Dave
Thanks David! Glad to hear you enjoyed it. And that is a good point - I figured it would be obvious that the Old Testament passages are by nature foreshadowing/prior context, but I may dig deeper into some of these passages in future videos, including more explanation of the texts and description vs prescription. And that sounds REALLY cool! I looked him up and can't help but notice Dan lives in Indiana too 😱 Blessings!

Good to hear! I might just do that 😉
It's been a busy day but I am looking forward to listening to this video. I'm glad you understand the value of having this conversation.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts! 🙌
