I have never met Dr. McDougall in person. However in 2013 on a fluke I watched his video on the paleo diet . I thought he was pro paleo and i was mad at first but the longer I listen to him i was converted to the low fat vegan lifestyle. I have read all his books and watch at least 100 of his videos. Thank you Dr. McDougall for changing my life.

Thanks for letting me know that long term use of Blood pressure medicines cause dementia, fractures, kidney disease etc etc. Its way better to treat hypertension with food changes and lifestyle changes. Thanks to McDougall for dedicating his life to educate the population of the earth.

Helpful video even for first timers, hope all the hypertension patients had this information. But regular doctors will never guide this way. Many thanks to Dr. Mc Dougall for guiding me.

What is never addressed about high blood pressure is sleep apnea. Why not? It put strain on your cardiovascular system.

@ about 1:02-1:05 you misspoke by saying high blood pressure doesn’t lead to heart attack. All the studies show it does. I’m hoping it was more like a hiccup.

Many thanks to Dr. McDougall for his contribution to society. This is a real question, not a sarcastic one: If hypertension is just a symptom and blood pressure medications do not address the root cause, why do meds reduce incidence of stroke?

Thank you doc, I'm indebted to you this is such invaluable info. On your last BP/HTN video I asked for the info from the Cochrane Collab, and the British organization, and you came through and provided it here in the middle of the video, thank you!!!
My doc wanted to put me on BP meds, I was like "hell no!"...this info you provided was excellent....from your info, it shows that I shouldn't be on BP meds

Could not find source for some info - is video outdated? From Harvard Health: In 2017, new guidelines from the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and nine other health organizations lowered the numbers for the diagnosis of hypertension (high blood pressure) to 130/80 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) and higher for all adults. The previous guidelines set the threshold at 140/90 mm Hg for people younger than age 65 and 150/80 mm Hg for those ages 65 and older.

Yes, they moved the goal posts for blood pressure. I’ve been following this topic. I had high BP but after 6 weeks on a WFPB, SOS diet It went to normal range and lower.

I have fixed the food, I have eaten WFPB for months, no processed food, lost a lot of weight, and I have low cholesterol numbers. But my BP is still very high. What is causing the continuing problems with my arteries and veins? Any ideas? TIA!

Similar here - except years. Finally went on meds, which lowered the pressure. I’m wondering if some people are born with narrower blood vessels.

I wish I could find a dr. who would work with me on this! I stopped my BP med after losing 43 lbs as my BP went down. After three months it went back up to 160/90 and my dr put me back on medication. I am following pb diet and have no idea why my BP went higher. I am 75 years old.

Necesitamos ayuno intermittente, todos, para salud perfectamente.
We all need Fasting -intermittent ,for perfectly Health.
Fasting is a panacea ,that will overrides all mistakes we commit on our health.
But, you have to keep all your habits in moderation.( Eg: Do not overload your body with too much salty food)
Because, Remedial effect of Fasting, has a degree of tolerance, but the coverage is broad-spectrum.

      @@jgrysiak6566
      Coffee is a drug
      But not a poisonous one
      You can have your coffee.
For Depression, you need a shift of paradigm, about your thinking:
Because, Depression was uploaded by you, And, only yourself can Delete it,
No One Else can do it for your.
As far as Chronic Fatigue, you have to explore, and examine your past lifestyle.
If you can not find any cause, there is still Remedy: Intermittent Fasting
Intermittent Fasting will undo all factors that caused you Chronic Fatigue Syndromes.
You definitely need a lot of Intermittent Fasting, and several times
Fasting will undo every harm, but you have to stay away from harm causing habits,
During fasting, the body will go into deep cleansing, and healing phase,
Because, our body has that mechanism, but we always overburdened our body with too much eating, that body never have time for healing.

Sick people need medications. Medications make healthy people sick.
