He is the voice of basketball to me. No one will do it better. I'm nearly 40, I grew up listening to him and my dad as well. It wasn't a Suns game without him.

I moved to the Phoenix area in 2013. As I would drive in the evenings I was drawn to the radio broadcasts of the Suns. That guy was really good, I thought. That guy was Al McCoy. I thought about how he called the game even though the Suns were awful then. I never cared much about NBA before then but he was the reason I started paying attention to the Suns.
