The old model Y could considered as ground breaking bcos there were little or no competition from china.
Tesla dont kid yourself now or at this DNA. EXCEPT for tesla hardcore followers or admirers, the new model Y got nothing new or ground breaking.
Take out the badge and do a blind test with 10 other chinese cars, i doubt this car will stand out as winner.
Tesla refreshes an 8-year-old platform with minor cosmetic updates-ventilated seats, ambient lighting, a rear screen-but no real EV innovation. No 800V tech, bi-directional charging, or next-gen motors. Yet, they charge more, banking on brand loyalty and FSD promises that won’t hold up in real-world conditions. Meanwhile, Xpeng G6 and Zeekr 7X offer more features for less, making Tesla's Model Y an overpriced, outdated choice-especially outside of sunny Austin.

@@DennisCW Tesla's brand power and Supercharger network still give it an edge, but relying on incremental updates won't sustain its lead forever. With competitors like Xpeng, Zeekr, and BYD rapidly advancing in battery tech, efficiency, and features, Tesla will need a major tech leap-like 800V architecture, bi-directional charging, and next-gen motors-to stay ahead. Brand loyalty helps, but at some point, better value and innovation win. If Tesla doesn’t push the envelope soon, it risks losing ground, especially in markets with strong EV competition.

@ thing is the Chinese make the phones we are typing on for 10$, similar format with the cars they are producing. Hence why the Americans can’t compete anymore. Tesla is old hat and overpriced.
