You were right. "Shohikigen" means "expiration date" This is definitely a continuation of their last Japanese release (2023) "IMA - Even if the World Ends Tomorrow". The ending fortune cookie of "IMA" is what opens up "Shohikigen". There are also flashback scenes from "Cheers to Youth" during Joshua's scene. Rewatch "Cheers to Youth"...then "IMA"...and then this...back to back. You'll see. Something else to note: there were 12 pods forming a RING...like the ones they wear on their fingers representing their bond...connected to a main ship (13) where Jeonghan is, who is pretty much considered the heart of the group. There are many things that will happen to try and tear them up (like Jeonghan's current military enlistment), but no matter what they'll stay together in their hearts and memories...just like S.Coups' can showing an expiration date, which he marks out and then writes in "Forever" which you caught. The little post-its are the "bucket list" wishes on the wish wall of "IMA" made by people of things they wish they could do before they die. So Seventeen uses each wish (or sticky note) to unlock a different holodeck-type experience (like the wish Vernon experienced of "I wish I had an older brother" where HE was the older brother, Wonwoo experienced "Just laying around doing nothing", Dino using non-translatable expressions used in Japan when people announced they're home, and the prayer they say to show thankfulness for the food, the Vocal Team experiencing "Celebrate our birthdays together", the Performance Team experiencing a day on the beach, the Hip Hop Team experiencing "Happy spending a day in the sun", etc. based upon the wishes people left before the world ended. However, during their experiences things begin to happen that would seemingly tear them apart. Dino, Seungkwan and Hoshi together when suddenly Seungkwan disappears; or how Joshua disappears from the Vocal team and finds himself alone in a holodeck "glitching " with scenes from "IMA" and "Cheers to Youth", Hoshi finding Dino after Seungkwan disappears and gives him a hug, S.Coups finding Seungkwan wandering around; and The8 finding Joshua. In the end it's Jeonghan's final upload of the members' wish (the sticky note you see being scanned) that they could stay together and "be happy forever" that saves Jeonghan along with all their memories/them together forever in his heart/mind/memories/spirit. For the record, I instantly caught the "IMA" connection...and you two are the FIRST reactors to catch it as well. I've been literally shocked at how many allegedly "Carat" fans have TOTALLY missed that. Seriously! I also cried ...no, sobbed through this one. YET...I think someday we'll see a Part 3. After they've all completed their enlistments, they'll find each other again "somewhere" and the ring will be complete once again.

Yous need to watch the mv in one clear watch then continuously pause in the second. It’s such a sad mv when you watch it full through 😭😭 so the sticky notes are their wishes. They place them on the key pad and that becomes the wish room. Even the simplest things are sitting at home for a day off makes them happy and being with each other. When you see vocal unit party wish room you can see Jeonghan and Joshua looking at each other making a promise when the time comes we will do the right thing. And the the hip hop unit and performance unit scenes before the shuttle explodes are wishes. Then the shuttles starts breaking down. Joshua is rushing to meet Jeonghan to save the rest of the members to sacrifice themselves but the8 finds Joshua and drags him to safety so Jeonghan goes alone to the wish control room and sacrifices himself to safe all the members while they escape to safety. The last scenes on the units is the reality their wishes came true except the party scene with the vocal unit there is no Jeonghan.
Guys this mv makes me so sad 😭😭😭 seeing jeonghan happy when the ship is about to explode hurts my heart cuz he was content looking thru his memories of the members 😢
