Yes they are herders primarily but can easily be trained to guard sheep or even children. Our small mini Aussie herds us!

My dog is 50 per cent AUssie cattle dog 25 per cent Aussie shephed and 25 per cent black lab. he is all black except he was white by his mouth. And a bit of white between his toes. He looks like a Aussie Shepherd
