      I use Ipad pro and cubasis 3. U can’t have as many tracks as with computer it start to crash but for me it is good to not have over 14 tracks it makes mixing very hard anyways but I think the power is not enough for real pros. But usability and workflow is good when travelling. Apps are getting better every day also.

      Grand Finale has gotten an awesome upgrade in the form of Grand Finale 2, it's now AUV3 so it can use it directly in your DAW on the master track.

    Hey man, just getting into recording with the Cubasis and your vids are a massive help. One thing I don’t think you’ve covered is about using multiple outputs. Say I want to be able to send a mix to a set to headphones or a monitor while recording the main mix.For instance a guitarist might want to hear themselves and the base more with less of the drums and vocals. Is there a way to do this? I’m guessing it might have something to do with groups but can’t get my head round it 🙄 I’m waiting on a 8 track interface thats got plenty of outputs so want to make use of them :)

    • @MobileMusicPro
      @MobileMusicPro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey dave. That's correct we haven't covered that yet as my interface is only a 2i2. But yes you can certainly output specific tracks to multiple stereo outputs but I don't think you can output the entire mix to multiple outputs from just within Cubasis. You may have to use a combination of Cubasis and AUM, it would take some experimenting with inputs and outputs but it should be possible, and fun :)

    So, when you use one of these stand alone mastering apps, would you then still apply the master strip in cubasis prior?? Thanks.

    • @MobileMusicPro
      @MobileMusicPro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      These stand alone mastering apps are meant to replicate the real mastering process so therefore if you are planning on using them you'd need to prep your production accordingly which means removing any master strip and limiter plugins on the master channel in cubasis and giving yourself a good -6db of headroom.

  • @Enginerr82
    @Enginerr82 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you think the Cubasis 3 master strip is as good as these other Apps ?

    • @MobileMusicPro
      @MobileMusicPro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's really all in how you use the app, some would argue some of these might be better than the master strip but I could probably find someone that could use the master strip better than someone else might be able to use one of these apps. Mastering is very subjective.

    Curious, why only take loud parts of songs?

    • @MobileMusicPro
      @MobileMusicPro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because if you work on just making the quiet parts loud then the loud parts will end up being too loud, so you want to first always start with the loud parts.

    • @perrypelican9476
      @perrypelican9476 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MobileMusicPro i don't know much about mastering, so anything I say is just my brain guessing. If you do it in parts then I would Imagine having to go back and forth to not have jumpy volume. Isn't that what compressors are for. I am confused about that. Also it's not only about loudness.
      One question I have is what about when you want uneven loudness. You might want a certain part to get louder and louder for effect.
      I suppose the musician can not just send the song to be mastered without explaining his/her ideas for the tracks. What the mastering guy thinks might screw up the goal,if the musician as far as what the song is supposed to sound like. That's why mastering engineers have to be very smart. You don't just follow simple mastering rules. Every song is different.

    • @MobileMusicPro
      @MobileMusicPro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@perrypelican9476 That is correct you'd have to go back and forth between quiet and loud but not too much, if you get the loud right then the quiet should be fine IF the production was good. If there are uneven parts that's not fixed in the mastering process that's fixed in the production process.

    • @MobileMusicPro
      @MobileMusicPro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jess_palm Well the M4A is the compressed version kind of like an mp3, so at some point you'll still need the high quality WAV version if you want to upload it to a streaming site.

      @@sejalmalhotra5245 Hey Dheeraj, it sounds like you have an android device and this entire channel and all the apps we talk about are for iOS because android devices were not designed to process real time audio and are not compatible with apples AUv3 standard. So the first step is to get an iOS device, then I'd recommend using Cubasis as it is capable of production, mixing and mastering :)
