And men looked up with faces pale.
The dragon's ire, more fierce than fire,
Laid low their towers and houses frail.
The mountain smoked beneath the moon.
The dwarves, they heard the tramp of doom.
They fled the hall to dying fall
Beneath his feet, beneath the moon.
Far over the Misty Mountains grim,
To dungeons deep and caverns dim,
We must away, ere break of day,
To win our harps and gold from him!
The wind was on the withered heath,
But in the forest stirred no leaf:
There shadows lay be night or day,
And dark things silent crept beneath.
The wind came down from mountains cold,
And like a tide it roared and rolled.
The branches groaned, the forest moaned,
And leaves were laid upon the mould.
The wind went on from West to East;
All movement in the forest ceased.
But shrill and harsh across the marsh,
Its whistling voices were released.
The grasses hissed, their tassels bent,
The reeds were rattling--on it went.
O'er shaken pool under heavens cool,
Where racing clouds were torn and rent.
It passed the Lonely Mountain bare,
And swept above the dragon's lair:
There black and dark lay boulders stark,
And flying smoke was in the air.
It left the world and took its flight
Over the wide seas of the night.
The moon set sale upon the gale,

Under the Mountain dark and tall,
The King has come unto his hall!
His foe is dead, the Worm of Dread,
And ever so his foes shall fall!
The sword is sharp, the spear is long,
The arrow swift, the Gate is strong.
The heart is bold that looks on gold;
The dwarves no more shall suffer wrong.
The dwarves of yore made mighty spells,

Barney Hill he made a new home mixed with reys theme, it’s pretty good (as per usual)

I’ve listened to this track countless times and I can’t help but realise that this arrangement is the perfect representation of what The Hobbit is about.
The song’s beginning and middle bits show the Misty Mountains song and the Ring theme, which for me shows that perhaps what makes the Hobbit exciting is either the journey that the 13 dwarves of Erebor (and Bilbo) go on to reclaim the lonely mountain, or that it’s a way to still relive the thrills of LotR, as well as the moments that foreshadow it like Gollum for instance.
But as soon as we get to the ending, we realise that that’s not what the story’s about. It’s not about glorious battles like the Battle of the Five Armies, nor is it a fantasy epic like LotR. Rather it’s about The Hobbit.
At its core, The Hobbit is a simple story about Bilbo Baggins and his personal growth, struggles, and adventures throughout this unexpected journey, and that’s why I love this story.
(This is of course my own personal views of The Hobbit and this phenomenal track. Great work to Samuel Kim!)

Me too. When i saw the trailer i had just started reading Fellowship of the Ring and was starting my first playthrough on Skyrim, i just went nuts. It's sad that the second and third movies were huge letdowns, the first one is a good memory for me.
Same here brothers, I cannot contain myself watching for the first time the Hobbits especially the music scores later on the Lord of the rings. Time flies so fast now I'm 19 :(

Star Wars music isn't that hard to improve IMO... but I don't think this is an improvement on the original Hobbit soundtrack. Don't get me wrong, it's really nice, but I just don't think it beats Howard Shore's original. I haven't seen his Marvel ones yet.

THIS WAS SO FREAKIN’ EPIC.... An orchestrated masterpiece! Never stop creating music!!! This was outstanding! I legit teared up at the end when Bilbo appeared on the screen and his theme sounded off so gently... the best theme added in surely for last... These are stories that should never and WILL NEVER be forgotten. I re-read the Hobbit and LOTR Trilogy every year, near Christmas time. And when I have kids one day, these stories will be the stories I read to them for bed time. Long live the Kings, Queens, Lords and Ladies, Ring-bearers, and Guardians of Middle Earth!

The House of Durin, Thorin's Theme, Tauriel & Kili's Theme, Gandalf's Theme, Misty Mountains, The Eagles' new theme (so beautiful), Bilbo's themes, The Destruction of Laketown (from End Credits), Bard's Family, Bard's Leadership...
