Prehistoric period As for all of West Africa, Burkina Faso has experienced very early settlement, including hunter-gatherers in the northwestern part of the country (12,000 to 5,000 years before the Christian era), and of which tools (scrapers, chisels and tips) were discovered in 1973. Sedentarisation appeared between 3,600 and 2,600 before the Christian era with farmers, whose traces of construction have allowed to consider a relatively durable installation. The use of iron, ceramics and polished stone developed between 1500 and 1000 BC, as well as the emergence of spiritual concerns, as evidenced by the remains of burial discovered. Remains attributed to the Dogons have been discovered in the North Central, North and North-West regions. But they left the area between the fifteenth century and the sixteenth century to settle in the cliff of Bandiagara. In addition, remains of walls are located in southwestern Burkina Faso (and Côte d'Ivoire), but their builders have not been able to be identified with certainty. Lol. Dat professionalism.
What I like about Geography Now, for better or worse, is that Barby manages to make every place he talks about sound nice. He makes the world seem like a hopeful place. Maybe it's delusional, but it's also very comforting.
When we spoke about the African countries and capitals in class, really nobody was able to pronounce Ouagadougou 😂
Btw. When thinking about it, I would say their old flag wasn't the smartest choice 😂
Dat feeling when theres a new Geography Now episode^^
10:54 I know this was posted 6 years ago, but, if the camera ran out of space and you knew that it had only a few space left (if you knew), then why did you film it on that one? Couldn't you just buy a new one?
Bro this was from 6 years ago he ain't that rich back then
@@someguy2398 I just asked
@@GeographyWeirdAlFan ok
New sd card
this definitely would’ve been helpful in that ONE project i had years ago in 8th grade. been years and i still remember how difficult it was to get information.
better for the camera to run out of space near the end rather than in the middle :D
I am glad that you are back Barb.
I hope your dad is doing well and that you are feeling ok after everything, and I like fhe episode btw :)

The contry was recently hit by a coup d'etat.
Wow thanks for the info
+Andrew Mac Gaul Yes but the coup failed and the transition is back now!
Those architectures. Wow. I love to visit this place!
Mossi are not a tribe. There are *6.2 million of them*. You don't call British a tribe, so don't call an entire nation a tribe.
I AM ALWAYS SO AMAZED BY YOUR WORK.
I have been subscribed to this channel for quite some time (since the Belgium video, if I remember correctly.) and I can honestly with my hand on my heart say I've never been this interested in Geography. My own Geography teacher besides that is a living bedtime story for my long class naps, so I am incredibly thankful that everyone behind Geography Now! boozed my interest in this subject! Thank you. :D
Rip those who recently passed away in the attack this wknd in this interesting country. Thanks for this series as I came to learn more about the country after it is in the news. N
You are an amazing youtuber and I just wanted to say thank you for doing this. I could easily tell that these video's take incredibly long to create and as a History/Geography fanatic just wanted to show you how much I love this.
That was a great ending
I've been to Burkina Faso, the day after I left they started a revolution.

You are awesome - thank you! Just love you.
"the red symbolises 'revolution'...uuhhh...the yellow star symbolises..uh......guiding light..."

I like Thomas Sankara. Cool guy, great leader of a beautiful country with awesome people. I hope to visit one day!
Thomas Sankara did nothing wrong
I love this channel!
black, white and red flag?
wouldn't this have caused some confusion with the second german reich?
OMG BARBY HOW CAN YOU BE SO CUTE AHHH. else watched his dance moves 189 times?
Yang orang Indonesia disini angkat tangan :3
also in central libya, sirt, their is a hall named after the capital of burkina faso ouagadougou, because of the good relation between us, I think we should make it more stronger, that would be economically good for both.
