But we seriously need a more varied loadout for our soldiers. We need automatic shotguns for close range encounters. We need more accurate AKs, with ACOG sights.
Our army doesn't use ak 47s,they use akms and ak 103s,INSAS rifles, special forces use Israeli TAR 21s and the presidential and prime ministerial guard use belgian F2000s.
@ it's not that India can't produce good guns but thing is, it is illegal for private sector to produce weapons in this rule only changed 3 years ago, so we are in the beginning stage of building modern guns.
I don't know why the TWS dust cover (gen 2) gets such mixed reviews to this day. Before other companies started producing AK dust cover that allows you to keep your rear iron sights, I brought the TWS too. I still haven't had any major problems with my cover. The rear TWS to peep sight does suck, so I modified my TWS and installed an HK G3 turret iron sight in the back. The project was fun. Just mill the last 3 picatinny slots off the cover, file/mill down the G3 base plate, tap 6 holes, and use countersunk screws to install the plate and turret peep sight together. I marked all the screws with a little paint as a precaution to see if they move over time too. Doesn't the AN-94 have a rear turret peep sight too though? There's so much other stuff you can do to improve an AK rifles too

Awesome vid... That AK looks so badass. The paintwork is really well done too. And thanks for the links to sources for parts! Question though, why did the operator shoot at the ground at the 0:28 mark in the video?

Why do people still calling every AK with AK-47 name? First of all there were no AK-47 in the history but an AK. Second, in the video we have custom AK-100 series.
Goliar That's just stupid, we're not calling all russian rifles AK47s. We're calling all AK47 variants AK47s. Because between an AK103 and an AK47 there's really not much difference besides cosmetics. Internally, everything the exact same thing.
Immortalkalashnikov goddammit, whats wrong with u? This is the same call that all rifles, who are descendants of \ similar to the M-16 name, which never happened. While these AA are more differences between them than the M-4 and M-16. What do you call an AK-47 - it is a regular AK. It was followed by AKM - has no fundamental differences. Then AK-74 - a completely different rifle with ammunition and other characteristics. AK-74M - Modernization of the previous one. AK-107 - a significant difference from the AC-74M, not cosmetic. For example, automatic balansrovochnuyu magnifying patterning several times. And this is not a complete list. Before writing nonsense, you'd at least study the issue. You demonstiruesh stupidity and incompetence.
Goliar Why don't you Russians chill the fuck out? You people freak out at everything, you have a massive superiority complex that you guys need to drop. >more differences between them than the M-4 and M-16. no.
Funny. I have the majority of the products on that rifle including the rifle. At one point my Draco SBR was configured similar to that years ago. Awesome rifle.
+PistnRods If you look closely at his trigger finger, it looks like the operator intentionally pulled the trigger. In the main video showcasing the drill, it looked liked he had good trigger discipline for the most of the drill. I could be wrong of course, but this is what I noticed.
I want to point out that apart from in this video, there has NEVER again been photos or videos of Russian special forces using the Texas Weapon Systems Dogleg railed dust cover. This leads me to believe that it was simply given to them for the video so Larry can say they have been influenced by American after market. They have no reason to use it because Zenitco has existed since early 2000s and their B33 dust cover is proven to hold zero every single time, unlike the TWS cover.
As i know they choose and buy accesories they want themselves. its quite easy to buy any western guns or equipment in Russia, only AR's are still expensive here cause of sanctions. I wanted to buy AR some time ago but i got rid of this idea since i saw a price of 2500$ for the cheapest one. We would like to trade u americans couple our AK-12's for some of ur AR's. But since our governments are playing around, thats hard to be market friends, which is sad.
@@jes2447 I hate to hear that. I have huge respect for the Russian military, soldiers and weapons. As the video showed, they are inspired by some of our stuff too. I'm sure we would all be good friends, but instead we are supposed to be enemies because a few people at the top can't play nice.

Crowd control shot,or a warning shot, very affective and quicker than the normal warning shot which is a shot to the sky,I saw this explanation from the comments of the original video.
it was an intentional shot for a cc (crowd control) in a dangerous situation where the operative is overwhelmed by a quantity of opponents/angry people who are trying to grab his arm or unbalance him
+Joseph Baltz That's actually part of the FSB training to induce stress and fear. In Russia, warning shots at the ground are considered acceptable, unlike here in the states. But yeah, seems a bit too risky.
According to another post I read, it's part of their training. It's suppose to basically scared the crap our of the people he's trying to get to move back
+Joseph Baltz Go watch the whole video, that wasn't a ND, it's part of their training. They also shoot each other on the bullet proof vest at close range, the warning shots to the ground aren't really their main concern.

When Larry shoots that rifle, a lot of parts dance. but that's an ak
Amazing yr
Our INDIAN forces Use AK47 AK 103 lots of Love To RUSSIA from INDIA
But we seriously need a more varied loadout for our soldiers.
We need automatic shotguns for close range encounters.
We need more accurate AKs, with ACOG sights.
@большой половой член who is pakistan i am INDIAN
@ INDIA produce Guns Tanks Artilery etc every Military equipment possible ok so just Fuck off
Our army doesn't use ak 47s,they use akms and ak 103s,INSAS rifles, special forces use Israeli TAR 21s and the presidential and prime ministerial guard use belgian F2000s.
@ it's not that India can't produce good guns but thing is, it is illegal for private sector to produce weapons in this rule only changed 3 years ago, so we are in the beginning stage of building modern guns.
4:11 You can see how the top cover is wobbling, therefore it'll not retain zero...
There's so much other stuff you can do to improve an AK rifles too
I love AK for me are the best assault rifle...for everything...I learn to shoot with it
Hey Larry,
Since you are a big fan of AKs, like myself. Could you do a video sometime comparing the most popular calibers found in AKs i.e. 7.62, 5.45 and 5.56. Let us know the positives and negatives you have found while shooting all varients. I always enjoy the videos.
Thanks as always!

Great video Larry! Love the guns! I watched this video as soon as it came out and thought it was awesome! It's one of those u can watch more than once lol
Love that zenitco kit
Gorgeous rifle . I'm sad I don't have my own . There needs to be more of this rifle . It's a very unique build/look I feel.
Awesome vid... That AK looks so badass. The paintwork is really well done too. And thanks for the links to sources for parts!
Question though, why did the operator shoot at the ground at the 0:28 mark in the video?
Это делается для того, чтоб держать толпу на расстоянии. Типо предупредительного выстрела
Awesome! I just picked up a Bulgarian 74 kit from K-Var. Im so making one like that! Thanks for the upload.
YES!!! More gun building videos. 1911's next. I know you love building them. Maybe some vids on HOW you make them, or tips that we can use to improve our own cheap $500 models. Yes theres a shit ton of vids on youtube already, but I trust YOU over anyone else. Thanks, and keep on keepin on.
:30 kinda tripped me out. Warning shot next to my foot is a no go for me lol
Looked like a negligent discharge (ND) to me. He’s lucky he didn’t shoot his own foot off
smittyct74 Larry explained it in the Alpha video with them and it’s a warning shot that they train for all the time in order to have civilians and non combatants to move away. They know what they’re doing
Love that tactical "almost shoot my own leg" maneuver.
Why do people still calling every AK with AK-47 name? First of all there were no AK-47 in the history but an AK. Second, in the video we have custom AK-100 series.
Sergey Popov It's just a name that has stuck to the rifle. I have an AK103 clone, I just say AK47.
Immortalkalashnikov It is idiotic. Let us then call all American rifle called the M-60.
Did anyone else catch that scary discharge with the pistol? Wow!!
I like how they immediate the US look. Make me feel happy
Why was there a discharge as he pushed the other guy away?
+PistnRods
If you look closely at his trigger finger, it looks like the operator intentionally pulled the trigger. In the main video showcasing the drill, it looked liked he had good trigger discipline for the most of the drill. I could be wrong of course, but this is what I noticed.
+Wolf of the Aurora They are supposed to fire at the ground as crowd control. Scares the people near him away.
+Echo
As I stated somewhat unclearly in my first sentence, it looked like it was part of the exercise.
+Wolf of the Aurora I was just stating that you were right :)
+Echo
Oh, got it :)
Wow that's a nice AK-47. Looks very Americanized.
it ain't 47, it's more of a civilian version of AK105
Vladimir Andjelic it's a 100 series?
nyet don't touch my ak?
It's not an ak47...
3:57 Dang! Watch that barrel whip in slow mo. Also a few more after that one.
Great job on the build vick! I will be cloning your AK. Thanks for the links
@@JohnDoe-zs6gj they can, they just dont need that. How would you make money on wars if there is no wars and everyone friends? Governments need a potential "enemy" to control people better. We are just 2 sides that were divided by leaders not by people. Huge respect to people who understand that and staying sceptical on everything
I think he forgot to mention the Magpul CTR butt stock he had on there ;)
hey where can i find that episode with LAV at 0:35
youtube only has the one with pistol drill.
cheers
Man the AK is something else. Not a big fan of the upgrades. They look cool but an AK on its original set up is enough for me. Although an optic sight wouldn't hurt but that's as far as I would go.
at 00:29 baklava guy discharged his gun almost shooting himself in the foot. that's a hardcore drill.
If you watch the full video, he does it about 5 or so times. It's intentional.
Larry you amaze me with your access, that interview you had with the Swedish PIKETEN was amazing. Nobody ever gets access to those guys accept you.
looks badass!
3:03 I just noticed that the optic was "Sig Sauer Romeo-4"
That's an Aimpoint T1.
@@ExplosiveFetus Aimpoint T1,Sig Sauer Romeo 4 are like same in shape but if we take a closer look,we can see the differences between Aimpoint T1 and Sig Sauer Romeo 4
@@KenTakakura666 In the video Larry say's it's a T1, and I don't even think the Romeo 4 was being made back in 2015...

An ak variant chambered in 5.56/.223 would sell like hot cakes in the U.S.
They make a ton of those, but they dont sell as well as 5.45 or 7.62
556 AK mags are not that popular, and unfortunately you can't swap barrels in an AK like you can with a AR15 Upper, as well as the 545 being an excellent round. I guess those are some factors to why they are not selling like hot cakes currently.
+Jose Delgado because we all know they AK..is the best..assaultt.. riffle...fact
Michael Kurzejeski I wouldn't say that.
if you made one chambered in 5.56 or .233 it won't be a Kalashnikov any more
I doubt these are actual alpha group operators. Apparently, these guys are the equivalent of our seal team six. Would they really send them on a PR stunt with some random American film crew?
Joh1002mm
Nope alfa team use western gear a lot and I saw photo with mp5 and russian clone of m4-a1 or hk416 in alfa team of Saint Pt.
Joh1002mm Alfa team is more comparable to FBI HRT or other Tier 1 police. The Russian counterpart to the SEALS would be SSO.
Larry is former US Army SFOD-D. He's not just some random civilian.

hahaha when he was firing at 4:04 their was a mini quake here in Osaka (4d experience )
This type of Kindly and gentle treatment is what we need !!!!!!
0:28 was that an accidental discharge? i'm not really understanding the point of shooting the ground like that
That's Crowd Control 100%.
***** hmm interesting, i guess it was for police or other security training instead of self defense?
Yeah, I'd assume a bodyguard-esce type of deal there.
That was an ND!!!!
Operation Valkyrie that's what u do when u have a double action / single action gun.. U have to "get rid of" that 1st round inorder to get it in2 the single action phase.. Duh... Every hardcore operator knows that..!....
0:27 yeah these are good operators
Minnesota Guy did no one else see the negligent discharge
0:28 *accidental discharge???*
Yup lol
its used for crowd control btw
No it's part of the drill
really cool of you to make this video and let everyone know where to get the needed parts... fun looking shooter..

Alpha and other special forces that use 5,45mm and 7,62mm, use it because this is the ammunition you will find on the battlefield. Insurgents of all kinds are using this ammunition. You can run out of your own ammunition really fast in battle.
Thanks for showing how well the TWS rail pairs up with a Zentico handguard. I couldn't find that anywhere. Looks fantastic.
Alpha guy almost shot himself at 00:28
Top men! LMAO
Nice catch
Part of the drill.
0:29 Is it normal that he almost shot himself in the foot?
Yes, Its meant to back up the person who is pushing him. Although, it is not something you really want to be doing and no SF/Seal/delta Op. guy would ever do this... KGB handbook shit.
@@sebastiansuberville919 kinda just for show too, don’t see SAS posting vids of their live fire exercises or anything

I like at how that one AK had a combination of your Vicker's sling and a Magpul MS2 sling.
Back in the 1980’s, part of the Honduran armed forces training required officers to be proficient in the use of Kalashnikov rifles or any other weapons in use by the “enemy “, named Sandinistas in Nicaragua, FMLN in El Salvador and other subversive groups. Early AK’s were mostly older Chinese made back from Vietnam, sooner the Sandinistas were equipped with brand new AK’s and the Contras were supplied with Bulgarian and Hungarian Kalashnikov pattern rifles, courtesy of the US Gov.. The rest is history.
0:27 did they slow-mo that *accidental discharge* like it was an actual deliberate tactical action?
+fpstina i think that is called crowd control or something like that, so the discharge was done on purpose
ya... i've never seen anybody in any tactical video ever do that, except when they fucked up... sooo... maybe the russians just like to shoot themselves in the foot?
+fpstina how about you watch Larry's full video on the alpha training before commenting stupid shit and being ignorant with a loud mouth?
i know your comment was awhile ago but i have to say that i watched the full video involving that clip right before i came to this vid. it is intentional he does it multiple times. when i had first seen it i too thought it was unintentional and as the video went on i realized why he was doing it. and if you think that is risky watch the video, they like to shoot each other in the chest then return fire. bottom line if you see me do that its unintentional for them its a day in the office.
fpstina
Here's another shot: th-cam.com/video/rI01qKAqYts/w-d-xo.htmlm46s
He scares unarmed opponent, it's ok.
(0.29) did that guy rip a round into the ground ?????
Danny Wigfall LUL, seems so.
This is crowd control, see the comments to the original video.
Danny Wigfall ,
Crowd control shot,or a warning shot, very affective and quicker than the normal warning shot which is a shot to the sky,I saw this explanation from the comments of the original video.
it was an intentional shot for a cc (crowd control) in a dangerous situation where the operative is overwhelmed by a quantity of opponents/angry people who are trying to grab his arm or unbalance him
did anybody else notice the negligent discharge at 0:29?
+Joseph Baltz I did, They really should have caught that before they put it in the video
+Lucas Tonoli that shits reckless
Larry Vickers, you are a godsend.
0:29 did that fancy guy just ND into the ground?
Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
Never fire your weapon unless you intend to kill someone.
Anyone remember this?
He did it on purpose
Ok im a ak guy now.

I'm amazed that red dot holds any kind of zero. In the slow motion that rail is bouncing all over the place. Looks amazing and I'm working on building something similar, just without that dust cover rail. Lol.
I think it's adequate but most would say the side rail is the best for retaining zero
