Just wanna say I used this technique and it worked for me. I used a two wobble extensions for the far end screw. I came through the far back side, thats the only modification. Thank you.
Followed the video and changed out the left side successfully. Opted to do the right side in the same manner. Air filter box needed to be disassembled and forced to center to make barely enough space. Could not figure out how to remove the air box. Much less space than the left side but it was possible. This video made all the difference. Thanks.
2016 Touareg has a different wire clip that hold the bulb in place (No green/grey piece at 10:15 in video to remove) . You have to pinch it to release the bulb case. Flex screwdriver with T20 worked to remove the two screws. Thanks for the video.
I ended up taking the front bumper off and the light unit out. Next time I will try and do it the more awkward way you did, albeit not as scary-looking as my approach was :-D
@@ITFunk-is8wy Oh.. this makes me feel a lot better having gone the bumper route (for both bulbs) - took me four hours including extended coffee break whilst I swore a lot.
Great job IT Funk. Your video gave me the confidence to try this out on my Touareg Hybrid. I did also use th-cam.com/video/Xds6uAIwgZ4/w-d-xo.html. (for anyone who wants to attempt it). Successfully change the bulb on the driver side. It was very fiddly and tricky to reach but got there and got it right eventually. I'd advice anyone attempting to do this to ensure you test putting back the old bulb a few times to get the position right as you will be doing this blindly because of the position of the headlights. once you are confident to do this then replace with the new bulb. This saved me an expensive visit to dealer. I must add I didn't have to remove the bumper .. load of mis-information on how to do this out there.

Is the right hand headlight bulb also able to be changed without bumper removal???
I haven’t tried the right side yet, but it looks like there’s a lot less space on that side to operate.
