Feel the song. Have connection with your audience. You must be able to convey the message of the song so that the audience can also feel what you are singing. It is great to reach high notes but i think its not enough. You must sing with feelings. Sing from the heart. Singing is like telling a story to your listeners.
I also agree with Ricky's mom that gradual build-up in how the song is sung is more appropriate. It is not just a mere exercise of opening your mouth to sing; you also have to factor in the appropriate emotions and proper facial expressions. Going through emotions is always a process. You don't have to start belting out loud when the lyrics call for a more subdued opening. Depending on the story that that song wants to tell, i.e., a softer or soulful opening creates intrigue, which makes listeners want to hang around for more. Remember, every song is a journey. So, be sure that your listeners are with you from the first note to the last.
I agree with Ricky's mom. And also, I suggest you put emotions to your song. You have the voice but there's no emotions. Singing is like telling a story, the audience must feel and connect to you to understand the story. Hope you win the competition. Best luck :)
Erika’s vocal control is one of her strong points. You have a lovely voice, Erika. Good luck and hope you win! 😄 I agree with Ricky. First ten seconds will get you noticed then your mother-in-law has a good point about building up to a finale. I read some very helpful comments that I agree with about connecting with your song. Find ways to connect with the Korean song deeply so that your audience will get caught up in your performance of it. The best performances are the ones that get us swept away with something that only the singer is able to produce because it’s coming from something so true inside of them. You got this! Bring home the gold. 🏆🏆🏆
It's not always about the vocal power. Do not shout it out. Like I said before, dynamics is important (learn when to belt it out and when to sing softly). Like telling a story. Feel the song and imagine that you are in that song.
Ricky's an incredible guy, and I am astound with the way he shows his support to Ericka! He makes every Pinoy follower of their vlog, proud! Thank you Ricky, and we hope and pray that Ericka wins the contest.. God bless everyone!
I agree with Ricky's mom. it seems you are shouting, no feelings. Your voice is very strong and solid, but something is not right somewhere. it could be the breathing, hoping that the voice coach can help. Ricky is so supportive. Enjoy mo lang and forget about the expenses, just treasure the moment. Aratso. Love your family 😊❤
Erica: you’ll do it well! Whether you win or not, it’ll be worth the experience of working together as husband and wife; building beautiful memories to cherish in your old age❤.
I also suggested the last time that Erica singing sounded monotone.. It’s like when you’re telling a story.. it can’t be just one tone.. there should be highs and lows.. soft and loud.. that what makes the listening interesting
Erica you have a very good voice be proud of it and your beautiful don’t be shy of your talent having a good voice and know how to sing is a gift from God so ise that talent for you amd for your children’s and to your husband he is obviously your no 1 fan your lucky because he wanted to support you 100 percent go go go enjoy and hopefully you get the first price ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Good Luck Erica and just be yourself and feel the song and don't be nervous and don't stress much, just enjoy everything. Wow Dana your more pretty and Jio big boy now but look like a little shy boy,God Bless Kids. Ricky your really a good hubby and supporting your wife and spending money to her vocal voice improvement that is amazing support. God Bless the family.
erica i suggest try to watch the voice Philippines old videos and listen to the judges.I still believe that when u sing it’s like you’re telling a story it must be felt by the audience.goodluck you can do it!
Feel the song. SB19, the Filipino pop group is very good with this. Foreigners cry when they listen to their songs like Liham, iLaw, Nyebe even though they are in Tagalog because they feel the emotions in the song as the boys sing it.
Erica you have a blessed husband Ricky who supports you on your singing. As he taking you to a singing voice advisor and Ricky mom is so sweet in supporting you and giving you some excellent advice on your up coming music competition. We are also impressed with Dana reading and learning her words. And Jio we are so grateful to see your awesome smile and your cute facial expressions. We continue to pray for Erica on your final music competition that you will win. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤
I agree with halmonni.stwrt with soft voice and and as the song progress..give a strong finish..it's like telling a story..with emotions. Good luck mommy Erika!
Hello po. I had a vocal coach when I was a kid and I was taught to start soft then end strong. It's like in one note you do a crescendo. However, it usually depends on the audience and the judge hehe have fun Ate Ericka (please allow me to call you that hehe).
I agree with Ricky's mom's comment. Your voice is very good and it needs to be crafted in such a way that the emotion of the song is felt by the audience and of course the judges.
Nice..Good decision! ❤ Don't worry too much Ms. Erica, the couch will be a very big help for your improvement because you already have a big audience here plang in YT. 😊
Erica, you should sing with feelings, feel the song and as you sing....dont just stay in one place , you walk and let the audience and so the judges to feel the song so that they can relate . I believe your talent erica and i believe in you. GO GO GO FOR THE WIN ERICA.
If the song is popular already, you have an impact already. You have to find ways to sing it at your best. I listened to the song's original version/ It started soft and became strong towards the middle until the end. The story is about asking someone to come back or convincing someone to come back. Ricky's mom's advice is correct. Add your style to it, and connect to the song and the people listening to you, especially the judges. They know this song, so you need to communicate with them, add a twist to it, and add more feelings. You will be able to do it. Goodluck!
You must have connection with your audience and you should sing as if telling a story. You must feeling the song ❤ Good luck your really have a strong voice
Ricky is such a supportive husband❤❤❤. Enjoy your singing Erika 😊 not everyone can join a singing contest. Make the most of it and give it your best shot.❤
Hello just a piece of advice lang po. Proper breathing, open your mouth para hindi sa throat lang galing ang voice, mas magiging buo ang voice mo at hindi parang ipit ang sound. Goodluck!❤
Isang Lahi is a Contest Piece ...have sang it so many times during competition. If delivered well it's a sure win! Your song delivery is getting better and better. The vocal coach can teach you techniques that can enhance your confidence during performance . Sharing with you a secret here...when you hit the "o" in high note...make it "a" ...instead of Sa Palad MO...pronouce it as "Sa Palad MA" ...try it. Yes, I also had a vocal coach from Ryan Cayabyab Music Studio, and yes I did won that competition (modesty aside). Goodluck Erica!
Singing is like story telling. Start with your low voice then mid range like a roller coaster ride until you reach the climax of the story. Goodluck Erica, you got this
I strongly agree with Ricky’s mom… singing is not about coming too strong and loud. First, you should know what the message of the song is..if it’s being in love, being sad, being happy so when you sing it, it’s like telling a story and you need to convey the feeling of that song to your audience. Just my two cents. I’ve been a choir member since I was 6y/o until high school. 😊 But you have a better voice quality than mine and I am amazed with your voice range! And singing is all about the proper delivery so kaya mo yan Erica! I’m rooting for you! ❤❤❤
You are very talented in Ricky is superb help...It is always to have comments to be considered... critics is to improve ...how many years you've been away from singing...
Ricky has a point too. Now a days strong judges impact matters so she should show already that powerful voice she has. Its just few minutes given to them so she better bring out the very best in her to make an impressive performance Goodluck Erica aja!!!!
True when you sing must have feelings not by just go on singing and singing but nothing at all .Your audience must get an impact got interested on your song andbthe way you perform.
It is the art of telling a story.. You can learn everything about the technicalities of singing a song but if you don't convey the feelings, then the audience won't feel it, they won't relate. So the song is about missing someone. It is up to Erica to sing the song as if she is the one who wrote the song, yearning for someone she loves and misses so deeply. All the best on the 9th 😊❤

Ricky is a very secured, supportive and caring Person…..just imagine thinking winning for Erica, finding a Voice Coach ( a very proud Husband). Assisting his Wife to grow her potentials as Singer/Entertainer. Hello ericka, 1st time commenting here. Have you tried singing bituing walang ningning? I find it like isang lahi is too much of like screaming and you are catching your breath.
All the singing contest winners I've seen are those who have a distinct voice and they own the song they were singing. It's like listening to a new singer. I think you should sing that way. Sing the song as if it was written for you in a voice no one else heard. Sing from your heart in your own unique voice
Watçh leah salonga when singinĝ, you can get some tips. Even if she sings in low key, still beautiful to hear coz her diction is clear. Be careful with isang lahi coz it needs deep breathing in timè with thè high notes.
When I was in the singing competition during my high school years, my mom made ginger with lemon grass and it so good for my throat.. Fighting Erica..🎤🎤🎤.. Good luck..
Hi! Singing is like telling a story to your listeners.
Ricky is so supportive, he got a vocal coach for you because he wants you to win.😁 Erica, try not to stress just relax, enjoy and sing your heart out.
I agree with Ricky's mom. Slowly build up and then finish with a bang. Feel the song and sing from your heart. Fighting!
I also agree with Ricky's mom that gradual build-up in how the song is sung is more appropriate. I agree with Ricky’s mom… There should be pacing with the song delivery. Singing a song effectively with feelings is like telling a story.😊

True. She has to feel the song. She seems like shouting rather than singing. With the vocal coach that can be rectified. 😊
Good decision to have a vocal coach. Goodluck Erica❤❤❤

Erica just have fun. Sing to win and put emotion what the lyrics is telling you then convey to the audience.
I agree with Ricky's point that the voice lesson is an investment. Also, it can be a form of making connections and networking with other people.
You are such a supportive husband Ricky. You both are indeed match in heaven ❤
