These ads were just perfect. Simple and to the point, introducing the technology that would take over life as we know it in just 30 seconds
Apple ads today are very heavy on visuals concepts to maximise promoting a feature, but the genuine demo of usage is not shown like the old ads.

I was 19 when this came out I am 35 now and I can honestly say it was an amazing experience watching how iPhone revolutionized how we use cellphones today.

It seems so basic today but compared to what cell phones were at the time, it was amazing. I remember so much hate from the blackberry and flip phone crowd. "Fingerprints are going to ruin the entire screen." The doubters were proved hilariously wrong. It transformed the industry and without it, who knows what phones would be like today.
I saw a video where Apple was seriously considering a plastic screen even after the keynote. I think it would have been way different if had.

I'm still using a flip phone. And also, TH-cam still had the five star rating system when these commercials were made.
I remember watching the UK version of this ad when I was 11. I remember being mind blown at using the internet, to find a number, and calling the number.
They literally did change the world. Nobody can deny that.

I can't believe how mind blowing these ads were back in the day. A phone was just a phone before iPhone came along. I just noticed you can't even get the ringtone they used in the ad on the actual iPhone.
To understand how cool this was you have to have used a flip phone from the same time, AND tried to browse the web with it. iPhone changed everything in a single lightning strike.
When the first iPhone came out, my age was in the negative numbers.

As an older person, it’s weird to hear anyone call 2007 “simple times”.
These ads bring back so much nostalgia of what felt like a simpler time. Also loved what TH-cam use to be, now its just influencers of all kinds making content for money. In some ways the iPhone changed the world for the better and worse.
Does anyone remember when the TH-cam app was added? If you watch the ads it doesn’t have it at first and then it does. It also shipped with the TH-cam app. But was there ever a formal announcement or did it just appear in the ads?
It shipped with the original iPhone in the 1.0 software. Most of those ads said "coming June 29th" the phone wasn't released at that point.
@@timhershel2940 Yes I remember it shipped with the original 1.0 version but there was a time period between the Steve Jobs iPhone keynote and the launch day where TH-cam got added. But was there some kind of announcement or press release for that?

Yeah but it's your plan was a lot better than some of the shit they have today, at least you got a new phone every 2 years for $200, now you have to pay $900 for a new phone every single time you get one, which means that you're stuck with the same phone that you had for 5 years. This is why people still use the iPhone 6, years after it's been released, and Apple been constantly having to update it.
@@pikachuthegayatheist6215 with iPhone forever you get a new iPhone every 18 months and just turn in your old iPhone. I have been been doing it for years with sprint and T-Mobile is still doing it. Not sure who your service is with but something that might help.

I had an iPhone 7 and had a 2 year contract with AT&T. I decided to stay the phone with me for a bit more time. And I just got an iPhone 12 Pro and i’m not going to upgrade in about 2 years or more. Having a new phone each year is like a waste of money absolutely.

I love how this phone came out on my 6th birthday. Sadly, I didn't get one. That's to be expected though. I didn't get my first phone until I was 10, and it wasn't really a smartphone.

It's not 'crazy' at all. It just means generation. Considering where cell phones were around 1990, it's about the same rate of evolution over a slightly shorter time period.
The original iphone was 2g. The very next releases were 3g then 3g S.
