I have over 100 eyeshadow palettes, but only two eyelids. I live in such a hot climate and sweat so much all the time that I don’t even wear makeup 99% of time. IT’S TIME FOR IT ALL TO GO! This is me! I don’t have quite as much but I have one of those plastic organizer from Walmart full of makeup and for why?! I live in Alabama I only wear makeup like three months a year. 😂
Re: donating makeup- I’m 15 years in recovery. In the first couple of years I was living on disability income and I would access counseling and programs at the local womens shelter. I had lost pretty much my whole life in my active addiction and I’m sure you can imagine that I didn’t have any disposable income for beauty, clothes etc. Early recovery is a really weird and wild time - your body changes drastically, your sense of self is all over the place and it can be pretty intense. I was able to access clothes through donations and through a thrift store that was run by the non-profit (We got a $50 gift certificate every 3 months). Then one day someone dropped off a ton of makeup, actual good makeup too, and I can’t even tell you how exciting that was. I honestly held on to and used some of those products for years and years. So just know that donating like this really, really, really does make a huge difference in the womens lives who are able to access and use them. Thx 💕💕💕
Hey Rachel, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the small positive changes you inspired me to make, ever since I started watching your channel (then binge watching all of your videos later). I'm an introvert with an at-home job, and while I don't really hate to go out, I feel the best indoors with my family. So I barely wore makeup, I kept hoarding perfume "for times when I go out" (then promptly forgot), and I often felt messy, plain, unsatisfied with my looks. But then I saw you going about your day in full glam makeup (even if I know it's just for the sake of the video), and thought, what's even holding me back? Why can't I wear mascara and do my brows even when I'm at home? I bought the perfume for myself, why am I not using it? So I stopped keeping things for "special occasions" and just made each occasion special whenever I felt like my looks needed some extra boost. Thank you for these special moments!

I was looking through a journal where I kept track of my makeup on a weekly basis. It dates back to 2018. I just started working on 3 eyeliners that I had purchased back then. Planning to finish those up by end of this year. Sometimes we forget how long it takes to finish up a colored eyeliner. I hope everyone who wants to minimize their collection can do an inventory and make a list of what you have and when they were purchased. It’s such an eye opener.
Even just a regular black eyeliner, which I use every time I do makeup, takes me aaaaaages to finish. Doesn't help that the NYX epic ink doesn't dry out but rather does the opposite hah. It's time to retire them when they start to leak

Gurl, yesssssssssss! We love a streamlined less stressful sleeping space. The nightstand stopping that one drawer set from opening fully tho- maybe put things you don't need access to often, like your empties/hated products that you only need for an end-of-year roundup in that one, if the layout is going to stay with the mild drawer blockage. Or use it as an extension of your bedside table 😂
I don't think most people realize how much work is involved in what you do. That's an insane amount of PR. I would get totally stressed and overwhelmed by all that and to think there is more coming in as well. Great job Rachel! 👏 PS Have you heard of Clutterbug here on TH-cam? She has a great quiz to figure out your organizing style (on her website) and then she has videos based on your "bug" to see how to organize based on that.
You should get one of those folding screens to hide your equipment and desk when you go to bed or are done recording for the day. I would increase the separation

Just a suggestion.. but you could put one side of the drawer of a certain product and then on the other side of the divider, you could put the PR ones that you want to test of the same product... if that makes sense. That way each product is in one place..? Maybe Either way I love all of your videos♡
8:06 THATS my favorite highlighter at the moment!! I use it for EVERYTHING highlighter, eyeshadow, eyeliner, sometimes even on the lips!! When summer arrives im using it on my shoulders. Its so good.
Would a screen divider help? I live in a large studio, so I have my office along the windows and my bed a few feet away. But I did get a screen to try and cocoon my desk for meetings and try to keep a visual block up when I sleep and watch tv (also a few feet away, haha, love an open concept).

Do you have a space somewhere in your house to move your stuff? Even if it’s a corner in your living room, or do you have a little open area upstairs? Or even downstairs in your basement. I’d have anxiety and sleeping issues too if my work was that close to my sleeping space lol my bedroom is my sanctuary, my quiet zone!! Lol but girl you killed it decluttering 👍🎉
I've only been really doing my makeup since fall 2020 and even then I haven't been able to get into a routine because I am still struggling to find the right primer-foundation combo for me (love my elf gripping primers, but I'm still struggling to find a foundation that doesn't pill in my T-zone). I have accumulated a lot, but part of that is because my skin tone is well suited to most colors and I love color matching. Colourpop is my go-to for pretty much everything (aside from primer since they don't have a face primer) and their foundation has the closest color match to my skin tone. Outside that, I pretty much cherry-pick based on reviews, personal needs, and if something stands out (like some of UD's palettes). If someone told me to declutter my CP collection, I'd legit cry lol
Rach, you should know how much I love you by the fact that I am watching this in little bursts because I love you and want to watch even though the tiktok style super quick jump cuts and unedited sound gives me a headache and makes me dizzy. usually a declutter video of this style is an immediate no but it is a "take frequent breaks" with you 💗💗💗

Maybe you could seperate the room with some sort of divider or ceiling curtain, that way you won't be able to see your workspace when you are not working :)
Maybe instead of keeping the empties or things you don’t like, you could film little snippets about why and what it is and combine them all at the end of the year?

Just a heads up for future decluttering for you or others who don't know - you can donate used makeup too! It just needs to be sanitized which is generally pretty easy. Im sure you have so much product you test once and hate - that can all be stored somewhere and then when the bin is full you can take an hour to sanitize and donate! Just a thought so more full products don't end up in landfills than necessary :)

Girl, you need a seperate beauty studio space! I work from home and don't have a lot of space, so my office is in my dining room, rather than my bedroom, even though space wise, it would make more send in my bedroom. But it's a sacred space meant for relaxing and not work, so dining room it is!
I challenge you for video series of "full face with pr goods" then you could test multiple items at once. Also something I find useful is to have donate/sell boxes in dedicated spot. So when you go thru pr/everyday life it's easy to declutter "on the fly"
A literally life-changing book I picked up on sleep is Matthew Walker's 'Why We Sleep' - cannot recommend it highly enough. It's so informative, but he also gives so many good tips for improving sleep quality! Thanks for the fantastic video, too, as always ❤

I used to LOVE wearing so much makeup and had one of those professional organisers filled to the brim! But a few years ago I realized that era of mine was over and donated like 90% of it... now I have two small makeup bags, one with my everyday makeup and one with my "fancy" makeup that I use maybe once a year 😅 lol But it feels sooo nice to declutter! 🙏🏻 ✨

I came here to say donate any unused makeup to organizations that help people leave abusive relationships or shelters and glad you mentioned the donating to women’s shelters.
This is so hard to watch and makes me think of my decluttering. Now what I do is aggressively get rid of stuff immediately if I don't use it. I think you need to get rid of more cos you will get new PR so where is that going to go. Plus it will be new and have a longer shelf life. Plus get a nice screen for your bedroom. You need a physical tangible separator for your room.

You could move your makeup storage to the basement and then make baskets for videos, so you only bring the necessary up to the bedroom ☺️
