@@phenomonomicroscopicillico9058 that's not what 99.9% of the community and pretty much anyone else with common sense would call a solo tactician run though. It's more likely that it's a click bait title or a mistake.
Your tip about throwing potions is slightly incorrect. The percentage amount is your chance to hit your target (to inflict damage) with the health potion bottle. If there's a percentage you have a chance to deal damage to the target. If you instead aim at the ground right next to who you want to heal there should be an area effect showing where the potion will affect, still healing party members, with no percentage of damaging who you want to heal.
No matter what I do I cannot get throw potions to work. The vial breaks but never heals. I have tried throwing it on the ground to the side of people. On top of the person and even standing around it and shooting it. Still doesn't work.
I don't get it, 3 of the 5 tips are about your team, not about going solo. Playing tactician as a team doesn't need cheese tactics nor sheet optimization, it is not so hard. Now going solo tho indeed you have to be a bit creative sometimes, and some classes are easier than others: When going to fight an ennemy on the other side of a door for example, I blocked the way with crates and in solo mode used hit and run from the other side of the crate (the ennemy will try to break the "barricade", but offer you meanwhile some time to fight). You can carry one or several crates btw, and use them to get altitude advantage during a fight. Or use them to climb on a roof, and be advantaged from there. Explosive barrels are extremely important in solo, if you go sneaky, put the barrels right under the nose of the ennemies, and start the fight by blowing the barrels from a distance, you'll help yourself seriously. You can even install several barrels and fall back behind them, blowing the barrels as the ennemies run after you. Be cautious tho, as if you are next to a barrel when it is the ennemy turn, they'll surely blow the barrel.
i tried to moreso encompass everything ive learned across my time and wanted to set it up in a way that even if you try solo tactician and quit because its too hard you still take something away from the video (the wyll tip) the throwing healing potions tip has out of party value aswell as i learned that any unconscious NPC you can throw a potion to to revive and get additional dialogue (the guy under the grove who knocked out by goblins can be healed with a thrown potion) & i just figured most people were gonna pick up shadowheart in the tutorial anyways since solo is about as much cheese as possible (since youre covering barrel cheeses :P) and figured getting the everburn blade would cover that base
You might wanna change the Title to BG3 Singleplayer tips, most people think about a solo party when they see the wording solo tactitian run. you can also check out the bg3 subreddit if you are interested in doing a true solo tactitian run. There are many guides beyond what you discovered in your normal playthrough. I wouldnt recommend it tho, since the Game is so Open, you can beat solo tactician without stacking explosive barrels on top of the enemy every fight but the amount of time you have to invest in Buffing(potions, elixirs, coatings) or summoning(elementals, undead, celestials) is way too much, and the actual tactical skill required is not realy changed from just playing the game on normal difficulty without special preparations.
This is literally not true. You have to know the game through and through to complete it on the highest diff with only one character. There's a lot of strategy involved. Everyone is free to play it however they please but solo tactician runs are praise worthy
@@CJ-wh7ik Hey, glad to hear you enjoy Bg3s tactician mode! As I said, if you feel it is too hard you can check out the subreddit or even runs on youtube to get inspiration for your run/build. And don't forget that tactician mode doesn't punish you for failure like dos2's honour mode. So feel free to experiment to your hearts content! But don't worry, after some time (most likely the release of the definitive edition) larian will release this games honour mode. So you can show off your improved skills in a non-compromising stand-off with the game and its many challenges!
The only tips for solo are the candle and rogue tips. Playing dark urge and killing a certain bard gets you a cape that turns the player invisible after a kill. There are also rings, scrolls and spells that can make you invisible so I don't see why you need rogue or to multi class into rogue
the number that shows when you throw a potion isn't a lie it's the chances to hit with the potion and deal damages to the character it will still explode and heal but it's better to aim at the ground to not damage the char you want to heal.
The last tip is kind of moot if you are including cheese strats. If you start in turn based mode and then attack, when its your turn back into initiative, you will have your actions refreshed. Assassin Rogue has this as well but anyone can benefit from it.
Literally not worth save-scumming for that flaming sword at the start of the game. It's just a normal greatsword with "dip" damage tacked on. Carrying a candle around is functionally the same thing, saves tons of time, and that sword is replaced relatively quickly anyway.
It is worth disarming him at the very least to kill him and the mind flayer for the experience. Disarming him makes killing him exceptionally easier as he does about 6 damage per hit. It's usually a better idea to wait to do this until after he's done a good amount of damage to the mind flayer already, though. If you kill the both of them, you're pretty much garunteed a level once you're off the ship. At that point, the sword is just a neat little extra thing
if you use fairy fire the. command the probably of drop goes up to 80% in tactician so if you do have that speel available it will make it way more likely to work
