How I fixed sun-rotted upholstery for my boat/pontoon (Fail - this did not hold up)

This is how I found is the best way to repair sun. rotted seats. there were sections that were cracking and I put a layer of flex-seal over it and the cracking is stopped.

That’s from the cover sitting on the seat tops and rubbing. I have the exact same thing. I am going to use Krylon fusion paint.

After taking it out a few times the flex seal failed and didn't hold up. The paint also started to flake off.

This is why you need to use a high quality vinyl cleaner/UVprotecter after every use and keep black covers off of the seat tops….shove an old sheet or towel where it touches the seat when using a cover

For now it's holding up good. We didn't get to use it much this year. I will have a better idea next year

I have the exact same boat seats, they’re completely cracked. I may try the flex seal or get some silicone.
