Idk why buy him talking about how depressing it is that Chuck E Cheese is throwing out your childhood and then immediately switching to “I’m the proud owner of the air chuck ones” made me laugh

Honestly i'd kill to get to see the Rockafire Explosion play live. Their whole story is so amazing yet tragic and consistently keep my interest. I hope Aaron and his creations will have good luck in the future (and Rolfe will finally get fans!)
In Illinois there's this place called volo museum they have the full rockafire band and the shows run on a schedule I went to see them but they were still putting the faces and stuff on the animatronics it's really cool they even have the original backdrop I'm pretty sure
22:32 Fun fact, that abandoned Chuck E. Cheese Studio C animatronic is from the Birmingham, Alabama Chuck E. Cheese, the Vestavia one specifically (it was actually one of my locals when I used to live there!). It was replaced in 2016 for a Dance Floor. It was really cool finding out that the meme image of this destroyed Studio C animatronic was from my old local, not to mention the fact that it's been restored now.
Growing up I was terrified of the animatronics at my Chuck E. Cheese. I wanted a large gap between me and the animatronics, but at the same I didn't mind their shows haha. I don't think somebody could pay me to get close to one now, but I do enjoy learning about all the different ones and what's happened to them. Thank you for doing all the research and giving us this video.
Its cool to see some bigger youtubers shed some light on this obscure topic, ive always been very fond of animatronic entertainment and it saddens me to see how so many famous attractions are just lost forever, I hope one day animatronic restaurants will be revived, but i highly doubt it
Fun fact about the mario bros live-action movie, the directors didn't want to make a mario movie but a sci-fi dystopia movie. However they couldn't get the funding to make their movie; so they agreed to make the mario movie and turn it into the movie they wanted. Not only that but it was terribly managed, actors were overheated (even those outside the suits) and arguments over the script happened often, as the directors changes to make THEIR movie ended up changing the script every day. The actors even went as far as to forget memorising the script, as there was no point since it'll change the next day. The actor for Bowser even argued this with the director and nearly quit due to how badly managed it was; the rest of the staff begged him to return and showed distaste for the directors themselves; so bowsers actor stayed to finish filming after he cooled off. Bob hoskins (the actor of mario) ended up injuring his arm due to yet another on set problem where his arm how slammed in the car door and had to wear a disguised cast through the rest of the movie. It didn't help they were literally drinking alcohol to get through the insanity of the movie which lead to luigi's actor accidently driving the van badly due to how drunk he was. Bob hoskins went on an interview and said that filming for the mario bros movie was "the worst experience in his life".
As a European that grew up in a country where Animatronic entertainment for kids wasn't really a thing I'm surprised how interested I am in this, very informative. thanks for shedding light on a piece of niche overseas culture.
I’m glad my local Chuck E. Cheese hasn’t been 2.0 remodeled yet. The last time I went there was I think months ago, and it seemed they replaced the old playground with new arcade machines. Still sad, but at least they still have the animatronics.
Fun fact: the rockafire explosion appeared at a theme park called funderland in cork Ireland for a few years from 2015-1018 before being retired probably due to deterioration, so in a way, they were still performing (although under the name fatz and the hillbilly band)
While I can't really relate to experiencing the nostalgia of Animatronic Restaurants. Since in Australia, they never became a thing. The idea of animatronic restaurants absolutely fascinated me, the first time I was exposed to this idea was with the release of Markiplier's Five nights at Freddy's playthrough. And I developed a morbid curiosity and found their designs unsettling, and wondering how children could watch the performances without getting scared lol. If I ever make my way to America, I'd most certainly like to checkout an animatronic restaurant, before they all close down lol. But this video was very informative, and taught me about animatronic restaurants and their history.
@desmodus.__. Oh yeah, I think in Sydney, they had Segaland with Sonic the Hedgehog and shit. But they shut down ages ago as well. The only places in Australia that still have animatronics nowadays are amusement parks, like Dream World and Movie World lol 😅
There was actually an Australian Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theatre (renamed to Charlie Cheese's Pizza Playhouse since I guess "chuck" in Australian English means "to throw up") in Surfer's Paradise, Queensland that opened in March 1981. They relocated to a location in Carina, Queensland in 1982 (Surfer's Paradise also was the first international PTT to open, and the first PTT to close, even though they relocated). Carina would close between 1984 and 1986, and since then CEC has not returned to Australia.
@CECBowlingGreen Yeah, but that was before I was born and I don't live in Queensland lol. I'm not sure why animatronic restaurants never took off in Australia. But I'd assume It'd be because of our pubs, RSLs and beaches, and there wasn't really much of a need for them. Most of my childhood for special occasions, we'd just go the RSL and get lunch or dinner, or go the beach and have a BBQ or something. good times lol 😅
i think it's really cool that this video released just around the time i got fixated on the Rock-Afire Explosion!! i love these silly little air pressurised guys and i'm so glad they're getting the attention and love they deserve :) they're super interesting to research and i love finding out new things about them!! also, interesting thing about that Clown animatronic: there was a theme park called "Mundo Magico" in Chile, and there's a promotional ad that, for a second, shows an animatronic resembling an older man that appears to be a retrofit of the Clown animatronic! this implies that there were more than one Clown mech produced (or even a whole animatronic!), since the Clown in its original state still sits in Creative Engineering's warehouse. there's another short video lying around that shows a couple seconds of this retrofitted animatronic in action, showing what its mouth movements look like. nothing of this animatronic's showtape(s) have resurfaced to my knowledge.
I was hardly ever able to go to Chuck E. Cheese but I wish I'd been able to go more often. I'm quite fascinated with animatronics. I hope I can make my own someday. It's not likely, but man would it be cool.
The only animatronic i lived through was just chuck e cheese. Not munch’s band, but at my local CEC, they kept Chuck E, and idk what happened to the others. I would go CRAZY every time chuck e had “woken up” or something. He would dance and “sing”. There are videos on youtube right now with the same chuck e cheese i grew up with, before they turned his stage to a wall I also was there for tickets, and tokens, etc. i have a faint memory of something that counted the tickets for you and printed reciepts showing how many you had so you could go to the prize counter.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it. But there used to be this show called totally obsessed, or something like that. I remember there being a person on the show who was obsessed with TMNT. I believe they owned one of the Mikey Costumes from a movie. I think I saw someone say they did party bookings, like how people would book people dressed as a princess. I just thought it was interesting😊
I loved Chuck E Cheese as a kid, so it made sense to have my little cousins birthday there in 2017. Unfortunately “The Band” was out of commission, so we didn’t get to see them perform, However, the Chuck E animatronic would occasionally open its eyes, fixate on something in the restaurant, stare for a few minutes, and then close its eyes again. Luckily my cousin (5yo) didn’t seem to care too much, but it was a far cry from what I remembered Chuck E being when I was a kid :(
I was literally just watching tuv's video about animatronics and i didnt realize morbid was in the video until he mentioned it (this is the first time ive ever watched any of his videos!)
2:00 Norman sang "Evil" back in my Birth Year, damn... Coincidence~ 2:34 *_THEY GOT THE ANIMATRONIC_* that's soooooo cool, Norman used right here, and I've heard "Evil" it's a good song !! 24:42 Sadly here in Ireland, we don't have Chuck 'E' Cheese or The Rockafire Explosion, but it's cool to hear about them~^^
@justberp734 If your on about me, I'm not sure why. Some people just think I type like a Bot, I'm not sure why, probably to do with my Autism, is my guess
My little brother celebrated his birthday in that Northridge CA CeC party room! It looks EXACTLY like in the video still. Animatronics have seen better days though.
i love billy bobs wonderland, i live in west virginia and used to go to billy bobs wonderland as a kid for my birthdays and for fun. Im glad to hear it mentioned as barely anybody does
I was searching these comments for someone else mentioning that. Billy Bob's Pizza Wonderland is the last public exhibition of the Rock-A-Fire Explosion and recently got an overhaul. Reportedly all of the animatronics are back in tip-top shape. I'd love to go down to Barboursville and check it out just for nostalgia but a 38-year-old guy wandering in by himself is liable to set off some red flags with someone.
Looking at this now, I kind of saw mine evolve over time. I very vaguely remember some of our locations changing from the PTT to the Tux era and beyond. Ironically, I wondered even as a kid, why they were built into the ground ther than standing like they eventually would. Asking too many question that my 2 year old brain couldn't possibly comprehend is probably why I was terrified of Chuck as a toddler. I refused to go near him without my dad going with me. I got over it later but seeing fnaf when it originally came out partially reignited that old fear again.
I remember first hearing about Chuck E Cheese getting rid of all their animatronics. With how popular animatronics have gotten in the past several years with FNAF I’m surprised they’d do this, it sounds like a pretty bad business idea to me 😕
This was an amazing video. I remember going to Showbiz Pizza Place when I was a kid in the 80's. Many good memories. Also, I didn't even know there was a place in WV that still had them running! I' in OH on the border of WV and now must go see that! Thank you for the wonderful video!
there was an abandoned australian animatronic restruant also called pizza time theartre (or something close to that name) it had 2 signing koalas a kangaroo wallaby and i think a dingo. this place is so unknown that you didin't include it. edit: so its called pizza showtime and there was 2 singing koalas a kangaroo called dingo a wolf mascot that walks around a horse robot and a bear, and i think there was a dog that announces the songs before the band plays it.
For billy bobs i actually went there in march for a early birthday Since it was a long drive there we stayed for the weekend in west Virginia it was definitely fun however the robots were all fixed and everything which was nice we didn't hsve to deal with the broken ones in 2020
@@lazality Now you've found another - I just live in St. Albans and for as long as I can remember we used to go there 3-4 times a year until my younger brother was too old for it.
I once stayed at a hotel directly across the street from guntown mountain, where theres apparently a set of rotting rock a fire explosion animatronics in the basement. My little child brain had no idea what I was so damn close to.
Lol I read the title and assumed it was something like “top ten celebrities and where they are right now” just imagining an animatronic washed up on the side of the road drugged out
I hope this isn’t what happens to the animatronics from the fnaf movie, they are so well made and the actors had a lot of fun with them. Maybe they will be sold, maybe they will get their own “life” like Norman did. I just hope they aren’t scrapped.
I didn't know about the portrait animatronics, that's interesting, sad that the remaining animatronics that are being destroyed, and corporate requires picture of the act... I hope others that still have them, keep them and don't destroy them
From what i remember that leonardo costume was also aquired by someone and restored. I remember someone contacted the seller and took it upon them to fix it. I don’t remember who it was apart from having seen a previous video about it a while back.
I have to be honest, I tend to find your narration jarring but mate this was an excellent video. So well researched and the effort to involve all of these other creators really shows. Just excellent work.
I'm glad I was able to visit Chuck E Cheese before they removed the animatronics, sometime in 2015. The location in question no longer exists. It once stood in Port Orange, Florida. I even stopped by once to visit it one more time just to be met with an empty lot.
I was the service tech for Chuck E Cheese Tallahassee and Panama City Florida stores during the Tuxedo era 1994 to 2002. A friend of mine was able to rescue Pasquali and Helen from Tallahassee After the remodel. They are in terrible shape after the destruction process. I saved Billy Bob from Panama City and just sent him to Australia to a collector. Had I known they were going to be so popular, I would have saved more stuff. I had 2 shows worth of parts from 3 stage shows stored at Panama City from closed stores around the area. The Panama City store was destroyed in the early 2000's to make room for a hotel. All that stuff went straight in the trash, including the live third 3 stage show. I was not the tech at that time.
The arcade I grew up with had rock-a-fire explosions up until a few years ago. Some teens ripped the faces off and they arcade owners couldn’t afford repairs, they where sold to a anon collector
Just a tip (not like im a professional at speach and shit) but ending sentences with a down pitch instead of an up pitch can make you sound more confident about your knowledge and it makes it sound more cohesive ending with an up note and can make it sound like a question. Other than that Keep the great work up king
I think FNAF accidently popularize the animatronic scenes again. I doubt any corporation would bring them back, but I think we wouldn't have so many animatronic recreation stories if FNAF haven't decided to use them.
hi on 21:57 about TMNT I went to that museum with a couple friends on a field trip to DC, I can confirm that its not in display anymore. We tried looking for it everywhere for no luck😔
When I was a kid in the early 90’s the “Rocketfire explosion” was at the local Circus Circus (similar establishment to Chucky Cheese). They are some of my favorite childhood memories. 😊
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the cursed Hoggle animatronic (from the movie Labyrinth) that was lost and found in a suitcase. It was restored and is used as a mascot for a second hand store in Alabama (I think)
I actually worked at the Chuck E Cheese in Florida that got destroyed by the hurricane a year or two ago. It was one of the newer locations that still had animatronic Chuck and it was a really great model. Its sad that it got destroyed because of poor construction and while theyre rebuilding the location, you know it won't have an animatronic in it.
Fnaf not only got me into not just animatronics but robotics as well. Servos, servo motor controllers, cycloidal gearboxes, a battery pack, and an onboard computer will make a free-roam roaming animatronic possible.
I used to work for CEC back when I was a teen. I remember having to change into the Chuck E. walk-around costume in the space behind the stage. Did you know there was a height limit on the costume? It was almost always a girl in the costume because of the 5'8" limit!
I can't believe you actually got the shoes! They look pretty cool, take good care of them. I enjoyed the video. It's a shame the animatronics are being destroyed. I've never been to one of these animatronics show, I had went to a local Chuck E. Cheeses growing up but there's no animatronics, just arcade games. I am aware of these animatronics because of the internet. I wish the animatronics can be preserved in a museum for history, like one of the TMNT being in a museum. Funny enough FNAF got me interested in animatronics after a while. It might not be the same thing but I've seen a few robots being built, I live in Boston area. I'm aware of Boston Dynamics, I've wanted to visit there but I don't think guests/visitors are allowed. I've been interested in robots but building a functioning robot goes over my head. So I'm more into animation and learning to code. I got into robots from one of my favorite anime, Astro Boy.

For billy bobs i actually went there in march for a early birthday
Since it was a long drive there we stayed for the weekend in west Virginia it was definitely fun however the robots were all fixed and everything which was nice we didn't hsve to deal with the broken ones in 2020
Thats really cool, i live here in wv and used to go to billy bobs all the time as a kid for birthdays, and just for fun.
youre the only other person ive seen on the internet when talking about the rockafire explosion even MENTION wv's billy bobs wonderland
I don’t remember who it was apart from having seen a previous video about it a while back.
i enjoyed watching this video! very cool 😊
I have to be honest, I tend to find your narration jarring but mate this was an excellent video.
So well researched and the effort to involve all of these other creators really shows.
Just excellent work.
Its crazy how every time he said madame oink i immediately said "ITS MADAME UNK??"
Literally more than 75% of the viewers are FNAF fans
Fnaf 2 withereds be like
Broooo Damon has changed so much he was in the rock a fire documentary!!!! Such a nice guy and knows his stuff!
I'm glad I was able to visit Chuck E Cheese before they removed the animatronics, sometime in 2015. The location in question no longer exists. It once stood in Port Orange, Florida. I even stopped by once to visit it one more time just to be met with an empty lot.
would be cool if in modern times we still had restaurants with animatronics Showbiz Pizza or Chuck E Cheese style.
I doubt any corporation would bring them back, but I think we wouldn't have so many animatronic recreation stories if FNAF haven't decided to use them.
the real reason they threw out the animatronics is because no one wants to be the night guard-
Gonna watch your video and tuv’s after this
ShowBiz was fantastic They will make a comeback I hope animatronics happy holidays all
Good video I can see a lot of effort put in it 😊😊
hi on 21:57 about TMNT I went to that museum with a couple friends on a field trip to DC, I can confirm that its not in display anymore. We tried looking for it everywhere for no luck😔
Hey i love all the creepy and horrifying videos you make!
Can you please make a conterversial sports match video?
Really awesome video man. Keep up the awesome work.
The thumbnail looks like a straight up poster for a Chuck. E Cheese game ngl.
Didnt expect such a cool video with you actually visiting them
When I was a kid in the early 90’s the “Rocketfire explosion” was at the local Circus Circus (similar establishment to Chucky Cheese).
They are some of my favorite childhood memories. 😊
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the cursed Hoggle animatronic (from the movie Labyrinth) that was lost and found in a suitcase. It was restored and is used as a mascot for a second hand store in Alabama (I think)
18:33 pretty sure that’s Donatello lol, but could just be a mask that’s deteriorated
What a well made video.
this channel deserves at least 1 mil
Glad Norman got a TH-cam channel.
Kinda sucks that companies actively will try and destroy the animatronics that built the companies and not try and preserve them
Big fan I love watching these videos!
There is a Billy Bob’s Wonderland that still has the Rockefellers! I go all the time and it is still open!
Servos, servo motor controllers, cycloidal gearboxes, a battery pack, and an onboard computer will make a free-roam roaming animatronic possible.
animatronics my beloved
25:45 Honestly, seeing this broke my heart. I love Helen and shes one of my favorites, it really sucks to see her like this.
Bro i COULD not ignore the freddy in the start💀
0:39 why is glamrock freddy included as if he had his own franchise in the 80s what
ikr that bothers me so much
I used to work for CEC back when I was a teen. I remember having to change into the Chuck E. walk-around costume in the space behind the stage. Did you know there was a height limit on the costume? It was almost always a girl in the costume because of the 5'8" limit!
BRO I CANT BELIEVE U HIT 100k dude! i was subbed to u when u had like 11k subs!
I love when people don’t call regular animatronics scary :3 (I’m both a cec/rae and fnaf fan)
FR !! and twins :3
animatronics are only creepy when you're working the night security guard shift :3
"And now every chuck e cheese decoration and sign that was part of my childhood is now thrown away"😃
You already know it's a banger.
Fnaf been taking me down a rabbit hole since I discovered it 2 weeks ago
This is such an amazing video I love this!!
Probably should also mention the animatronic princess from Downtown Disney 2006-2007 she was a little sweetheart ❤🥺
