For clarity the reason the Mayor and his Psycho mate were so upset was because 'apparently' cops would deliberately park outside or near that 'Gas & Grog Station' because in a town of like 2000 people it's a popular place to buy alcohol from in and evidently a lot of people drive there drunk. The Mayor knows this and is angry because the police presence is negatively affecting how much business the store does. Which basically means the Mayor is fine with drunk driving just so long as they're travelling to his Grog & Gas store.

What does THAT have to do with this?
The mayor is a public employee, elected by the people. He must decide what his focus is, either be a Mayor or gas station owner; this is a conflict of interest and the mayor lacks common sense. Our country is made of laws where our founding fathers assumed we would exercise common sense and decency.

It doesn't have to be courteous and kind. You can demand they leave in a forceful tone, and the person being asked to leave must comply. At any rate, the property owner has a legitimate "beef" with the officer, and there is a history there. As in, the police officer actively harassing customers of that establishment. It sounds like he's setting up a speed trap directly across the street from the store in order to harass the customers.

You go to City Hall and you make a resolution for an ordinance mandating that any business which is found to have surveillance cameras, must provide that surveillance footage to any law-enforcement agency as part of an official request. Any store owner in this situation has an obligation to the community to facilitate the prosecution of the DUI offender. That the proprietor is the community's Mayor multiplies on order of magnitude his obligation to protect his constituents. The police should not under any circumstances respond to armed robbery, shoplifting or vandalism of this property as long as the Mayor owns it, short of the clerk being harmed in the event of robbery. As long as it's only property crimes, that's why there's insurance....but if he needs a police report to file a claim, F/K the Mayor/Proprietor, he can EAT the loss.
