- Summer is at long last gone and grey skies, rain, and cold winds have taken over. Not only is it time to get your teapots out of the pantry, buy those marshmallows to put in your hot chocolates, autumn means the perfect mood and atmosphere for a new AURI album. That's at least what the people at Nuclear Blast must have thought. The trio is going to release their sophomore album, "II - Those We Don't Speak Of" on September 3rd, 2021. These two are the greatest! A memory in me was sparked when Tuomas said about the idea of playing in unique venues, like maybe in a cave. Ever since touring through Luray Caverns in Virginia, USA right about the same time EFMB was released, I was struck with the vision that Tuomas would probably love composing and performing a special song written just for the Luray organ, which is made from a standard pipe organ keyboard the keys of which actuate remotely placed electric solenoids that strike a collection of 37 stalactites scattered around the huge gallery. The ethereal sound it makes is hauntingly beautiful, and I was overwhelmed at the thought of what a master composer like Tuomas could do with this one-of-a-kind instrument! I wonder if he is aware of the stalactite organ? Very interesting to listen to a composer whose music moved me as much as the first time I heard Mozart at age 5, am now approaching 70.
Freaking fishing for likes on every video about an older mainstream metal band, so tired of it! Seems that having a dead close relative that liked said metal band or being an elder person listening to them is never getting old... then again: there's a fool born every minute.
Great interview with a lovely couple. They seem on exactly the same wavelength. They were lucky to find each other.

I saw Tuomas and Johanna 2 weeks ago near The Stockmann's department store in Helsinki.
About a year ago I saw Tuomas in almost exactly the same spot. That time I exchanged a few words with him.
Johanna glows with warmth and goodness and her voice is out of this world. As a matter of fact she is a fairy, a nymph, a maiden of the forest who has come to live with humans. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you can see a glimpse of creatures like her in some old Finnish forests as the sun rises and the morning mist evaporates. But that's very rare.

Poetically, and to the point smtg etherical and mist-like is somehow there to be seen.. and when you turn your gaze for a second, and look back.. it's gone. But is in your heart

@@jorluo There are no many primeval forests in Finland anymore. Just felling fields and different aged plantations. It sucks. They have ruined pretty much everything.

Great interview. Very relaxed and informative. But... it was the love between Tuomas and the extremely beautiful (physical, emotional and personality) Johanna that made me shed a tear. I always heard that Tuomas was a rather cool person but the looks he gave Johanna, and the Moomin Mamma compliment, say otherwise. Lovely couple and I wish them al the best and a lifetime together. And lots of new Auri albums for us to enjoy.

Johanna is one of my favorite singers. Both her English and Suomi songs are so beautiful, bring peace and solace when when I'm frustrated or the memory of those I lost rise once more. Especially Sun Sarkya Anna Ma En.

I see Tuomas must be a Guillermo Del Toro fan, as he has a Pan's Labyrinth t-shirt on. Dark, disturbing yet fascinating film. As for playing strange venues, I have one. The Giant's Causeway, here in Northern Ireland. And it's steeped in folklore, which I know Tuomas would find fascinating, and then there's the geology itself, again something Tuomas has an interest in. Pipe dreams, I know, but.....
Johanna and Tuomas, things will become normal again. Very luck and happiness to you both and wishing a lot of joy with Auri including Troy, music heals emotional wounds, and as big fan very thrilled looking forward to fresh new ideas and beautiful Suomi music. What a lovely couple, I wish them all the happiness. If Tuomas is happy, I'm happy. That's it. With all those things to do in the future, when is a baby coming? A friend for Freja to play with. To be best friends with. Special children for sure, with such parents.
Honestly speaking they don't come off to me as a couple that wants children, they just seem like very career-driven people, but who knows!
I have to say that if I were to think starting a family now, I think I wouldn’t go throught it.
I also think they have chosen to be just two of them. Without children. And that's fine too 👍

The music of Nightwish and Auri have given me a lot of scientific and philosophical inspirations and revelations concerning the meaning of human life, I really admire both of Tuomas and Johanna, they are the best musicians in this world, and I will definitely continue supporting both of Auri and Nightwish in the rest of my lifetime. Long live Auri and Nightwish, you both have really special places in my mind forever. Sending much of love and respect from Taiwan.

The natural setting of "Red Rocks Amphitheater" in Colorado, USA may perhaps be a bit large but would be a PERFECT setting for AURI (or Nightwish for that matter!).

Good to see that Tuomas seems to be such a lucky man, having beautiful Johanna at his side. He deserves to be this happy. But he is keeping his private life very secret. I know, they are married, but do they have children already for example? Don´t want to be rude or respectless, but I would find it sooo wonderful.💗

Tuomas and Johanna have no children together and none to come.

It’s funny to me that they specifically mentioned Nomadland as an inspiration. I’ve been living out of a small van for over 5 years now, which is a choice I made that would allow me more freedom to do certain things like attend Nightwish concerts. I had mixed feelings about the film and didn’t think it covered the whole spectrum of the types of people who live in their vans.
Troy was looking pretty dashing in that photo. Do we ever get to see Joanna singing with Floor? I mean I know their vocal styles are totally contrasting - but it could be interesting
I hope they keep Auri as Auri and do not ruin the concept with any wild trials.

Is it possible to mix it up a bit. Do an Auri number within a Nightwish set. Troy is already there on stage and Joanna can make a wifely guest appearance, That way we don't have to wait till 2024 for a live performance of Auri. Or is it because the audience bases are different for each genre and Nightwish fans wouldn't appreciate it. But logistically it makes sense.
I like a bit of mixing up. Playing rigidly within genre can be SO narrow. And fans need educating and their horizons stretched.!

One notion, still:
I wish they never let Floor go to the "this is where we keep the former Nightwish-singers" -place 😁 , if it can be prevented!! A moment ago watched the movie about Nightwish from that time. And seemed to me they were in an awfull hurry and distress, and run to buy the last ticket of the lottery, to get even smtg...
And. Then.
What the he... This is the jackpot (päävoitto -main win?)!!!!!
And, to be honest with you, he now has two of them: this and that ❤️
And, imho, Nightwish with her is now absolute perfection! E.g. (above all) the greatest show on earth and All The Works Of Nature Which Adorn The World.
I think Tarja is an extremely talented singer, but opera is not my cup of tea -and this is not about Tarja, but about me and opera. And only about me listening to music - i understand it was a tremendous loss and sorrow.
So. I think he now has the treasure in his hands, which gives the perfect space and group to make it real, all that's in there -in him. The amazing music he creates. The oceans.
As my nearly 80-year old mother said when i put her listen to those two pieces of music: it's out of this world (a bit controversial, i know, as that's what they're all about -this world)
I hope they keep NW as NW and Auri as Auri. It would be a disaster to mix female singers in these groups. But a retro show of NW would be great to have Tarja and Anette there too.
@@sateentuoksu You got it: it is indeed perfection. Still I am curious, what's yet to come. I got the feeling it only works together.💞 I loved Nightwish in Tarja-times, and I followed her a little bit with her solo-stuff...But somehow it didn't please me, something was missing. For my gusto, Tarja put too much voice in her songs, trying to show in every single song the complete range of her voice. Which made every song kinda similar. Not so recognizable like Nightwish-songs. Sometimes even a bit exhausting to listen to, while Tuomas songs shift you to an alternate reality. But that is just my opinion.
Same with Floor. Once I heard her singing at Wacken 2013, I couldn't help but love her versions of the old songs much more. Once I've heard her, I couldn't unhear what she did with the songs. But now as she released her solo...Naaa, not so much my cup of tea, even though she still has incredible writing skills, and I like her solo more than Tarjas, but the connection between her voice and Tuomas out-of-this-world skills are creating those mesmerizing materpieces. The new album is announced for next year. I am already excited as hell, but also curious, if they can keep this high level, which they delivered with human::nature.
And in the first place I hope every day, that Floor announces that she and the baby are ok, it has been a while since she took her well-deserved space for giving birth and enjoy family life. But a short post that she is ok would be nice.🙈💖

Hey! He's talking about the Moomin books by Tove Jansson, a Finn-Swede author. They're very sweet and exciting children's fantasy. Snufkin (or Nuuskamuikkunen) in Finnish, is a sweet and solitary young guy who just lives on his own in the woods but comes regularly to hang out with the family. And Moomin Mama is sort of the sweet, kind "mom vibes" darling mom to all the kids around, not just her own. Highly recommended, and you can find them translated in English too!

Johanna used to have a thick British accent, now she has a thick American accent.
I'm a bit confused about her accent. Last interview I watched was from 2018 and she sounded very English (I'm English myself). I know she's Finnish, but maybe she's lived elsewhere for some years?
@@aimselmo Finnish people are mostly taught English pronunciation, I've had some friends who could pass for a British native.
As for the American accent, it could just be that during the last few years she's encountered American English more and developed an accent based on what works for her? I know that I myself completely change my intonation and dialect based on the people I spend time with, in any language.
This interview makes me cringe to the bone... reminds me of my ex. Me always looking at her before I spoke, changing my mind the moment I looked at her face and suddenly agreeing to her, looking exausted all the time...
