Thanks so so much for addressing this. I wish more people would address starting over after midlife. So many negative things can impact us at this stage of our lives. Divorce, death, illness, financial loss, lack of education . We really need help to give us hope , courage and strength to still believe , “we can build, maintain and accomplish “, in our later years of life.
you do a great job discussing this stuff, and giving some advise to folks on navigating through heavy stuff. you were damn lucky to have the two bed cottage rent free as a solid interim place. you mentioned that you lost your kids. How long were you alienated from your kids where you didn't see them ? did you manage to escape depression. or was this a factor to deal with also for you ? it might be worthwhile discussing that side of things. as this can be a very debilitating aspect for some people.
