When we first went 20 years ago my wife described it as feeling as if she was an extra on a film set while I wanted to emigrate there! 12 out of 10 absolutely brilliant. It's now down to 6 out of 10. Far too many people there whose primary interest is alcohol, even the Earls Court Show (which has been unbelievably brilliant in previous years) is half the size and turned into yet another bar. The bullet band stand was placed in an unbelivably poor position, we didn't see any of the 'roving' acts, the few aeroplanes that were there put on boring displays, (I know the weather didn't help) the mud was atrocious and the din from the 'Over the Road Show' was appauling. A once great spectacle a shadow of its former self, only the racing has remained undiminished.

Yes, as with all of these types of events hype can take over and, in a way, they are a victim of their own success. However, I'm sure they make plenty of income for the organisers. The main thing is one can remove oneself from the mele and enjoy awesome historic racing 👌

Excellent depiction of what Revival is like for the general punter. If historic racing is your thing you'll already have been, I'm sure. They've really expanded the non-racing stuff for those in your family who prefer that but boy, is it all expensive! Good advice to take your own picnic and seats.

Thank you for your feedback, definitely don't have to spend a fortune to enjoy the event, but it can become a money pit!

I went on the Saturday with general admission as well. First time for me, having watched it for a few years online. Had a fantastic day (despite some of the showers!) and one ill remember for many years to come. We stayed just 15mins down the road, so managed to get in about 8am and left around 9pm. Makes it a long day but id say getting in that little bit earlier if you can means you can get round some of the areas and have a look before the crowds come in.
Yes id advise taking some lunch, or at least a few drinks and snacks in a backpack. We found some seating near to the inside of the Lavant straight.
The sights, sounds (loud!) and smells all add to it and a great day out for £100 ticket. 👍👍

Nice video. I went on Friday, got drenched and ended up marching straight through some of these areas looking for cover
