The sheer, brash, ballsy iconoclastic power of Devo saved my life. I seriously wouldn't have survived such a brutal childhood into adulthood with my sanity intact without the inspiration of their music and the power of the image in their pioneering videos and live shows. The music of Devo always said yes, the world is cruel, totalitarian, opposed to creativity and innovation. But it doesn't have to be this way, and you are not alone in thinking this way. Devo helped me find my people, many of whom were also Devo fans, or on the wavelength. Devo still gets me through the day, fighting on for a better tomorrow, and doing it with great joy and humor.

He IS an icon! I had to laugh at the last segment... that was for an Australian music show called 'Countdown' that ran in the 70's and 80's, and the guy interviewing them (Molly Meldrum) was the WORST interviewer of all time, but he genuinely loved music and musical artists, so he got all the big interviews with any major artist visiting Australia at the time.
I remember having a massive crush on Mark and daydreaming of being his bride when I was about 8 or so, I felt like a freak because every other girl my age was all over Justin Bieber at the time and I was crazy for a man with a flower pot on his head, but I’ve found my family in the comments ❤
