Notice how most if not all of these comments are from I-fans? And Taeyang didnt even say "paved the way", he said "Open doors". Only toxic delulu fans intentionally mistaken the two. And then felt the needs to spread negativities onto someone else social media because of their intentionally misinterpretation.
@ no one said bigbang paved, we are saying that bigbang were one of the first groups to get major popularity outside of just korea, which means they did have an impact on kpops popularity. and without bigbang bts would never have been a group, yoongi said it himself.
Taeyang literally stated facts: BIGBANG did open doors for K-pop globally, and there’s no argument against that unless you’re allergic to history. They were topping charts and selling out world tours when K-pop wasn’t even a blip on the global radar. Saying their efforts “played a part” is not only humble but accurate. The whole “BTS paved the way” brigade needs to realize that paving a way doesn’t mean demolishing the road that came before. Groups like, BIGBANG laid the groundwork, and BTS expanded it further; both can coexist without invalidating each other. Taeyang wasn’t even dismissive; y’all are just reaching for drama atp 🙄
@@KaizenEdwardTopacio"BIGBANG opened the doors, BTS paved the way." Cool, except that analogy doesn’t work because there wouldn’t be a "way" to pave if someone hadn’t already built the infrastructure. Taeyang’s point was clear, BIGBANG laid the global foundation for K-pop. BTS taking it to new heights doesn’t erase that. Without those doors being opened, there’s no "path" to pave in the first place. By focusing solely on BTS, you’re dismissing the groundwork laid by BIGBANG; ironically doing the same thing you’re accusing others of. If anything, this entire debate highlights why history lessons are more important than "reading comprehension" because this wouldn’t even be an argument if people understood timelines.
1st and 2nd gen opened the door for KPop to international expansion. Bts blew that door off it's hinges, yes, but it is important to credit the ones that actually opened that door.
Tbh Jason didn’t do a good work to portray himself good with all the get the girls numbers and that, I know he is not a creep but poorly managed to be fair, all the stream linguo and farming mentality is not the common for to K-pop locals who are not known for being rational all the time
@ I know the girls and the mgmt let the dude approach, the boy get e.t.a. Viral by himself, but start to acting like “now I’m a make a move on the girls” is like setting himself up for the backlash
I mean if you listen to the call from start to finish he had no intentions of doing that, when the streamer he called suggested getting the members' phone numbers, he quickly turned down that suggestion saying it is weird to do that, and after a few convincing from the person in the call as that person thinks it is not weird from the perspective of an american and influencer as it is only for 'friendship' or more like collaboration as they are both in the entertainment industry, he only said I "might" hit that sentence later, its not even stream lingo anymore if you hear the tone of his voice as he said that just like an ending statement for the call to end and was not necessarily confirming he would do that. But then again cut out clips are dangerous weapons and kpop stans in pair with that? Misinformation and misjudgement happens.
I’m tired of illit and le sserafim getting all this hate. They are allowed to thank whoever they want bang produced their music and took like to help them artistically. Makes sense to thank him. Western artist always thank their teams, producers, songwriters etc.

Taeyang wasn't wrong when he said that bigbang opened the doors for kpop idols to be known globally. The first kpop group I discovered was girls generation with bring the boys back and i got a boy, but i also remember watching a reaction video to fantastic baby. Not to mention later on pewdiepie made a video on kpop just as it was starting to blow up globally and he talked about bts but also bigbang and gdragon being the coolest guy on earth haha
Taeyang is legendary even among idols, humbly saying bigbang opened the door for kpop idols to be known globally. I mean this is a fact, I'm an international fan & I got to know kpop through Bigbang & SuJu back then (I started to know kpop in 2012). He didn't even say they paved the way, just opened the door. They built the foundation & newer generations expanded it. I don't see anything wrong with what he said. Also, I don't think globally should be strictly mean in the US market. Sometimes people only considering success when they big in Korea, China, Japan & the US 😮💨.
Wait, so NJ can thank MHJ a woman who has publicly bullied and hated Illit and Le Sserafim from the beginning while at Award shows alongside Illit or Le Sserafim but Le Sserafim and Illit can't mention the Ceo and Bang Pd, who have their problems as all Ceo's do but have defended these groups in front of NJ LMAO!! The Hypocrisy is Crazy to me.
You're kidding right?? The amount of hate njs got for thanking mhj was astronomical, she even COVERED IT. This is just backlash u guys provoked in the first place. Twitter is just giving u a taste of your own medicine.
MHJ literally said it’s the company and illit are innocent and they’re not to blame but I guess you wanna run your mouth anyway. You cannot compare that to BangWhale because he actually definitively slandered Aespa and many other idols attending there in their leaked document and to have illit and Lsfm read out their pre written scripts towards these effected idols was nasty period.
@@KingKikikoi Yea said they were innocent and under the same breath fueled each and every hate train against the girls and on that topic fyi mhj also slandered MULTIPLE groups other than lsfm and illit, not only is that woman a pedophile but she also has dozens of law suits towards her. you hate bang si hyuk but defend min hee jin under the same breath, they are BOTH horrendous. stop defending that woman.
People are saying NEWJEANS are disbanding just because their schedules are done, but that’s not how it works. Unless ADOR or HYBE officially announces the contracts are terminated, those contracts are still in place. Finishing their schedules doesn’t mean they’re free; it just means they’ve checked everything off for now. Contracts don’t magically disappear just because someone claims they were breached or decides to call it quits. There’s an entire legal process to go through. Until the lawsuit actually proves ADOR broke the terms or a court rules in NEWJEANS’ favor, they’re still tied to ADOR. Like it or not, that’s the reality.
@@NjOntop-d9v No they are not free, the contracts are still valid unless the courts say otherwise because Hybe and Ador are not going to break those contracts they would be stupid to do so. NJ do not have the legal power to end their own contracts no matter what anyone says.

TBH i dont think its a big deal that illit and lesserafim mentioned Bang Sihyuk. I mean this man is their CEO and Producer (as far as i know). Of course they would mention him. I would to, after all he is one of the higher ups, that helped them get succsesful. It would also be disrespectful to not mention your CEO at an award show (IN MY OPINION!!).
@@LasVegasYT He’s still majority stake holder of Hybe, he just doesn’t want to be the face for all the business decisions anymore. He also had a personal hand in building both groups, so I see why they thanked him. Nobody should be getting hate for this, idols are basically raised by these ppl. I will say that fans should have expected it considering Njs got hate for thanking Mhj. If it already happened to one group, it could happen to your group too.
tbh maybe its got to them being rookies still, i remember when enhypen were rookies they used mention bang sihuk too🤷♂🤷♂ i dont think its a big deal, minju's speech really seemed like this is what the staff told them to say if they get an award. I hate when some certain fandoms claim their groups paved the way as if back then befor they existed we didn't have any fans outside of korea or there were no kpop idol who reached the western market, I remember how big ss501, bigbang,2ne1,snsd,beast,4minute,bap,exo,fx,wonder girls,.....were. Like, because yall found kpop at the end or middle of the 3rd gen doesn't mean we didn't existed espacially at the times where youtube wasn't a thing or spotify or tiktok didn't existed to get viral or famous
1. create the circumstances to enable (something) to happen or be done. 2. to make it easier for (something to happen or someone to do something) 3. to make it possible or easier for something or someone to follow That certain group did pave the way but sayong that doesnt erase what others did prior
So those Groups get to be Nominated on Billboard like BTS and did they even get to DEBUT in the US like BTS???or gets to be invited to different shows for an interview like BTS???and after that BTS making history for Western Debut the other Kpop Groups followed BTS footsteps so what are you guys talking about!!!
BTS PAVED THE WAY for other Kpop Groups like BLACKPINK,TWICE,SEVENTEEN,STRAYKIDS,SEVEN and more…some Kpop Idols even said it that BTS PAVED THE WAY for them…it’s just that you guys were CHOKING whenever you heard it!!!
Yes those groups are important in the story, but whether you like it or not, one group broke through and paved the way for the others… many in other groups state so, even in groups not from their company. History will tell the story, not fans… and history has already been written and decided on this issue.
I don't really understand why saying that bigbang opened a lot of doors for kpop is a controversial thing? They're one of the biggest most iconic acts in the Korean music industry, one of those groups that are the idols of idols, "fantastic baby" was one of the first kpop songs to crack into the mainstream internet and pushed the hallyu wave, it's not a slight on any other group to acknowledge the past of the industry, it's just objective.
NewJeans were getting dragged and continue to get dragged for even mentioning MHJ bffr. Illit and lesserafim are getting backlash because that man allowed that "industry report" to be created and passed out for years even after mhj made a complaint about it degrading idols.
I can’t get with how ppl fuck with nwjs thanking mhj, but the moment illit thanks bsh they start crying?? Ion get that at all (no this is not hating on nwjs💀)
people didn’t fuck w/ NewJeans thanking mhj. There was not a corner of social media that wasn’t hating on them and they still continue to get hated on. meanwhile illit and lesserafim are being praised by army’s for being “classy” and making NewJeans “uncomfortable” mentioning bsh
@@grieoqn7820 u mean, it was never proven false. Hybe presented those texts, so it should be mhj's job to prove they're false bc she claimed it was edited.
I think the people need to realize that just because kpop wasnt mainstream in the West, doesn't mean it was not popular/mainstream in other places. The whole Hallyu wave thing started with groups like Big Bang, Wonder Girls, SuJu, SNSD, TVXQ/DBSK being popular outside of Korea in places like Japan and China and eventually South East Asia. You cannot deny these groups impacts in Kpop's popularity and as always the West is late to Asian trends, which isnt a bad thing, but its a tired feeling arguing with people who think they discovered and made Kpop popular just because they found BTS before they were viral. Before groups like BTS even debuted Wonder Girls and SNSD were doing North American tours going on the news, etc. Y'all either weren't paying attention or didn't treat them seriously as artists. Even K-Hiphop groups like Epik High have been attending Coachella before Blackpink or 2ne1. BTS helped Kpop's popularity worldwide TREMENDOUSLY due to the rise of social media, but there were int'l kpop and kdrama fans who found it through word of mouth or niche early internet rabbit holes that helped it gain quiet traction until it couldn't be ignored anymore
Theres a difference between making it yourself and paving the way. Sure those groups made a road but they didn't popularize kpop in many other countries other than Asia. They played in the US but it never amounted to popularizing K pop into the mainstream and opening doors for others to follow. They never maintained a presence in the market and like PSY were mainly considered one hit wonders and discouraged. U K and American markets are tough like that. BTS kicked the doors down and held them open. Count the groups that came after them as opposed the the number of groups that came after the first generation. BTS didnt build the road. They never said that and neither does Army. BTS credits PSY as paving the way but PSY credits BTS. PSY said he may have made a road but didn't pave the way for others and thats what we're talking about.
"Real tokkis would never invade the girls privacy" meanwhile they made Hanni break down in tears at the airport. It's just a bunch of jealous fans who wish they met NJ and not him, so they'll do whatever they can to cancel Jason. Sad world 😢
The airport incident was just one guy, and he was clearly a saeseng. A saeseng who bunnies were extremely angry with afterwards, sifting through the footage from that day to find and expose his appearance.
This is how i know you have no idea what you're talking about. Because the person who made hanni have a panic attack was a sasaeng, not a tokki. No one is trying to explicitly cancel jason but what he did wasn't ok. He can't just go backstage unannounced and uninvited without anyone (esp the girls, hanni was shocked and confused to see him there) knowing he's there and expect to be recieved well
That was literally the first time a mobbing had happened to them. The rest of the other people were randoms, paparazzis and tokkis had always been passing and giving them letters way back. Jason is not even a fan of newjeans not until when he found out that their songs gave him clout. There are older videos of him dismissing newjeans for blackpink and cussing them out.
@@lilrose2671 I'm quite sure the sasaeng would consider himself a tokki, maybe a super tokki in his eyes who knows, plus that older lady was trying to get at them, a few rotten apples can ruin it for the bunch. His behavior was called that of a stalker because thats exactly what stalkers do. Now I personally dont agree with people calling him names, but what else would people think when you show up with no security clearance to see an artist at their dressing room and filming it without consent? His actions were wrong and he can't deal with the consequences so now he's on the front page of kpop news articles and channels because he doesn't know how to take accountability.
He used connections to get it that why bunnies are upset he had no business being backstage he was there just to try and have an interactions with the girls he was even filming backstage bunnies see through his bs he is using the girls for content
I think it’s mainly the whole asking for njs numbers thing and the fact that when he saw their MV, he didn’t ask how old they are, he specifically asked if they are 18 or over that is the reason why most of us are mad. He’s not the kind of person that any K-pop fan would want around their favourite group
@@WAVingtokki correct me if i'm wrong, but in Jason's vlog it wasn't even him who proposed getting newjeans' contact? it was whoever was on the phone who suggested it and Jason said that it seemed weird to do so?
Every gen made a contribution to the globalization of kpop. First gen stabilized and popularized it in SK, 2nd and 3rd, popularized it in Asia then outside of it. The rest of the new gens are making sure kpop stays in the eyes of international audience.
Of course the girls' safety always comes first but let's be honest we should keep those words "stalker" and "sasaeng" for the real offenders who do such things. Using such words for what Jason did really only hurts true victims who've been through that type of situation. At most Jason was insensitive and not fully mindful of of how he may have come off as.

They be hangout with western artists like justin bieber and ariana grande. Honestly Every Group Paved The Way for the next Generation. There must be kpop idols who became idol just because they were inspired by the group they liked.
@ShammahAgahozoNdobayou can't say "nobody." There were people who looked up Psy and got into kpop through him. I had friends who got into kpop through this man. I knew kpop before him, but Psy did indeed open doors for other artists and fans.
Jason's excuse of "newjeans is not the only artist there at the backstage" is not really a good defense against the stalking allegations, its like you followed a girl to her school and be like "hey im not a stalker cuz i saw her classmates too", im not saying he is a stalker but he should stop using that especially when he also emphasize that nj is the only group he recognized there
He has to realize the whole thing reached its peak when he visited Korea and met with 3 of them. Like, good job, now move on. But the ickiest vibe I got wasn't from him but one of his friends he was on the phone with, who was "advising" him on how best to play this. The friend was telling Jason to download Kakaotalk immediately bc that's what Koreans for texting, and use that to try and get newjeans numbers. It gave off pickup artist. Then some bunnies were saying the friend was using Jason's access to slide in newjeans dms themselves .. that last part take it with a grain of salt, but as for Jason, just take the W and chalk it up to a nice memory from 2024 and move on with his twitch career. Continuing to approach them makes him look weirder and weirder.
@ agree, not a stalker because it’s disrespectful to victims of actual stalking. But a clout chaser who doesn’t know to quit while he’s ahead, for sure. And increasingly in a one-sided professional situationship. I personally think at first Hanni & Danielle were amused and flattered (I feel like the three Koreans never gaf but had to play along). But by this point they’re probably “ugh this guy again.” But they still have to smile because they’re in a tricky situation with Hybe right now and can’t afford any bad PR.

For exemple jason had a stream with d4vd, a pop artist that is pretty big in the west, he has direct contact with the artist or management. Another exemple would be plaqueboymax when he does big stream with artist he has direct contact with them. He just meant it so jason could potentially plan some shit with newjeans in the future thats it.
Taeyang is right, most early international fans knew BigBang first as the big "K-pop group" along w SNSD. Everyone who I knew who also listened to K-pop knew them first. This changed at some point, and now ppl are clueless about them(??) but there were a whole generation of int fans who came in because of Bigbang.
Jason in older clips shows his true self, and then later when he catches a chance to get clout from the girls he goes omg so cool to meet them, so cool he doesn’t even have what to say to them just shoves camera to their face to get them views. Shallow like any other clout chaser.
What true self? He's just voicing his opinion (and honestly he's trying to get a rise out of his fans on stream by saying controversial things). Have you never liked an idol but then they slowly grew on you and now you love them? You are allowed to have a change of opinion 👍 (side note: like you know how some people are so stubborn they'll never change their ways)
SO he change his mind about new jeans , and he played the song on having a million subs which led to the fans of kpop appreciating to then him indulging in it, and you think he's the one clouting. Loser!! How are you a streamer and saying all this? Are you trying to get clout because Alinity got one up on you and W's at the end of the pewdiepie controversy?
Nah before bts we had big bang. Sure bts paved the way but they weren't the ONLY who paved the way, groups like twice, exo, red velvet, big bang and blackpink also paved the way. All these groups contributed to paving the way each paved the way for other generation like how big bang, 2ne1 and girls generation paved the way for bts and blackpink and then they paved the way for 4th and so on 4th gen leaders paved the way for others. Each generation and each senior groups pave ways for their juniors and for other generation so 'paving the way' doesn't stick to one group only

The way _any_ "scandal" NJ gets into gets called a mediaplay smh. Let an SME or FNC artist do the same thing... okay, maybe FNC is irrelevant these days, but the point still stands. People also need to understand that idols don't choose their brand deals until they have more experience and seniority, and even then, it isn't guaranteed. If the brand offers a good price for an idol group to promote them, the group will promote them. Even if they prefer a different brand of product, they will promote their contracted brand because that is their _job._ People need to remember that being an idol is a _job,_ and there are things at work that you don't enjoy, but you do anyway because it's what you're paid to do. That might sound "sad" or what have you, but none of us 100% percent love eveything that we choose to do or have to do.
Tbh this is classic somebody coming into a space with a strong fandom and not knowing how the vibe is with jason, that happens all the time tbh just not often with kpop
its so sad how jason got bullied out of basically promoting nwjs and being a stan in western media. as someone who has been into that side of content creation for ages and is scared to even mention kpop around people like that, including the people im surrounded by in real life, he was someone who opened the door in a way for kpop being more accepted and now the kpop fans literally slammed it shut, proving that sides of the internet view on them. its so uspetting. many streamers have gotten in trouble for talking to minors in weird ways (prime recent example being dr. disrespect) so people often joke about that stuff lightly as a way of coping in a way, and many are really caucious especially as many streamers have gotten attacked by kpop fans for talking about minors, although i know from a kpop stan perspective aswell thta yall just want to protect minors etc. then the whole thing when he was on the phone with ludwig, to me it was very obviously lud was pulling his leg and joking around which was also partially edited out and pretty out of context, watchign the whole video it was very obvious he first of all got backstage passes from jay park (ik hes also controvercial but thats not the point, he just tries to get in with streamers (like streamed and had ishowspeed at his concet on stage before, and let him stream it) because he knows english and knows how much potential there is to promote himself) and he was supposed to hang out with him but something came up so he wasnt even sure hed be able to go but jay park probably knew he was really excited and flew out to japan just for that so he made sure he was let in. he is just a big fan boy, he even bought a whole bape outfit after nwjs wore similar once to the airport and got them gifts. he was guided by security and mentioned how strict it is so i think if he was being weird, security that was there would know better than us for sure ans would have done something. either way he was hoping to talk to them for a bit and just hang out, not even expecting to be able to film (he also only filmed with permissions btw) but he ended up not even being able to give them their gifts or anything (from what i remebr) and he just saw them for a bit and said hi, they responded as they recognised him and were probably really surprised to see him, in japan, in the artist area wearing a full red bape out fit probably, either way, he respected that they were about to perform or after their performance (idki think he said it differently one so im not sure😭😭) and just waved and said hi, he didnt bother them or anything so i dont understand the problem with that at all.
Why is this Jason guy trying to meet them so much so frequently? He already met them before and they probably talked all that there is to talk about between an artist and a fan. NewJeans treated him in a very friendly manner and it got into his head

The thing with Jason that ppl don’t know because Tokki’s are trying to pretend it didn’t happen. I am a Tokki so I saw how the unnecessary hate towards him started… it all started because the girls did a q&a on Instagram and Jason commented and immediately got a response from Hanni, Danni & Haerin. Tokki’s felt like the attention they gave him could’ve went to Tokki’s who never got a chance to interact with them and all of a sudden videos from when he was just a casual NewJeans listener and NOT a Tokki started being spread online and Tokki’s started making threads to stop NewJeans and Tokki’s from supporting him and now any time he gets any acknowledgement from NewJeans they lash out on Twitter and start posting out of context videos and painting gross false narratives about him. As a Tokki I’m extremely disappointed because I hate that they added an extra layer of drama to NewJeans name especially with another Tokki who just loves and supports them and wants the best for them. I hate how parasocial the fandom is and will no longer be associating with the fandom cause I think they did too much over something very little. 21:44 I'm afraid he's right. I'm at a point where I want to leave X because of the weird behavior of kpop fans. I know some very decent people, but they are in the minority. You can't read a single post without one of these weirdos talking bs about everything in the comments. Be it fat/body shaming, misogyny, misandry, videos taken out of context (we all remember the APRIL case), shipping including assumed sexual orientation (as recently read in the case of Yves), and if you dare to disagree, you're the weird one. The age limit is 24 (i.e. anyone older is no longer allowed to like kpop, but of course this only applies to men and not to women, who are still allowed to idolize boy groups despite being 50+). I hardly post anything there anymore, because no one reads the decent posts anyway. That is like saying what your grandparents and parents did didn't matter cause the only thing that matters is what YOU did. And the hipocrisy of toxic army to get angry when others don't mention bts as the first this or that but then go back to the "it's not about who is the first..." arguement for other groups' achievements. Bts is not the be all and end all of KPop. KPop survived before and will survive even after bts.
You do know that paving the way means making it easier for others to do what you have done? BTS made it easier for other K-pop groups to get visability and success (as a result) in the global and western market. This doesn't mean that the ones before them did nothing or aren't important.
True ARMY wouldn't say that knowing how much BTS members love Big Bang... let's be positive and not let Anti's start fan wars... there are a lot of younger, immature fans that have not listened to Big Bang and don't know the history.
@@sandraredguard6385fuck that, true ARMY know better than to belittle other artists to make BTS look more important. _We don't have to._ BTS has achieved plenty even while acknowledging that others came before them to make _their_ path easier. @maliam_kpop n kdrama were already gaining popularity when bts were not even trainees . Hallyu wave started in 2010 . N before bts, other groups had housefull tours n concerts in west . I guess Boa was in billboard in 2009. Bts didnt paved any way . But even without bts kpop would have been as popular as today too . N its main reason is internet n social media , not BTS. The world was able to watch other countries entertainment content only cause of technology, not because of any group. Even if that group wouldnt have existed people would have been watching other countries content ........
@ketkikul8739 Bangchan (Stray Kids), Jihyo (Twice), Sunmi (Wonder girls), PSY, the former Korean president, G-idle, TXT, SVT etc have stated that BTS paved the way. BTS did pave the way. After they became big (Without the help of other groups who did something to get them visibility) people started to pay more attention to K-pop acts, open K-pop categories etc
Honestly some people forget that if you watched react content on TH-cam there was a moment when it became popular to react to BIGBANG, SNSD, Wonder Girls, Shinee, Super Junior, etc and BIGBANG was definitely a favorite. BTS had more impact for kpop on international music charts but there were plenty of us who knew of kpop beforehand.
Its not NJ's last performance if their contract is deemed valid, no one should be saying anything until the courts determine whether or not their contract is still valid. For Hanni's sake it should be.

There's a reason why 3rd gen groups found a platform like Kcon to promote on. It's because outside of Asia 2nd gen in the late 2000s made us lose interest in J-pop and created a niche for the K-pop scene all over the world.

It's so ridiculous that literally every single time there is some stir with New Jeans where they don't look like saints it's s being called "mEdiA pLaY bY hYbE". Like, bfr it's just an kpop article about kpop things. Likely based on nothing or so unimportant that it's laughable. HYBE has better things to do than make articles about "what bank does Hanni use". Also when NJs speak about their groomer and ex CEO or in other words their Mother and Bestie MHJ they get praise. The one time Illit and Le Sserafim mention Bang PD they get submerged in shit for doing so. Make it make sense. How is mentioning (again) a literal bully and someone who SOLD information to SASENGS is better than mentioning a CEO of a company you work for? Literally why.
Nah, these new kids gotta get over themselves with their current faves, groups like big bangs impact was no joke. They're your faves faves for a reason.
Taeyang shouldn't have gotten any backlash. It was literally 1st and 2nd gen who laid the foundation and made kpop known in the early days of youtube globally. And this is coming from someone who's 25 years old(so considered a gen z). During the time I discovered kpop it was around 2008 and this is when basically no one that I knew know about kpop. Of course, this also depends on the area you lived in, as I lived in the midwest so it would always be me who introduced my friends to kpop since no one knew about kpop or even kdramas. But regardless to that, you'll typically see a ton of older gen z and millennial that know 2nd gen kpop before all of the current ones. If it wasn't for them in the early days sure kpop would probably have blown up anyway but it probably wouldn't have been the way that it is today. Not only that in my opinion a lot of the current groups are inspired by the ones before them to a degree. But yeah that's just my 2 cent on this situation, big bang, snsd, super junior, shinee, and 2ne1 was on the top globally before 3rd gen hit. There are other groups too but you get the gist
AND with all that said I'm not hating on 3rd gen and onwards. I'm just saying that because of 1st and 2nd gen were able to get kpop known outside of Korea, the 3rd gen was able to continue it and make it even bigger. Everyone played a part in helping kpop be known. It's just silly saying that only one group did when it was a collective effort over time.
The contract "betrayal" thing is wild to me, like....Aren't idols just kind of told to work with and let's say they do get much say in those sponsors: It's not the first, nor will it be the last time an idol/group has a contract with some brand/company and maybe they DO like that thing to begin with. Contract times cannot predict an idol/group falling into/out of love with a brand/company/item---Like they could find something a lot more useful to them in the middle of their contract run and start using that thing and have to stop pretend they're using the other once the contract ends----The betrayal viewpoint is absolutely bonkers to me 💀💀💀 Also In terms of "who paved the way"---I think it was because there was a successful roll out of different groups over several years---When I was younger and still in school, there was BigBang, Shinee, 2NE1, 4Minute, then PSY blew up, etc. etc.----Over the course of SEVERAL years, you had enough groups (though it was few), that went international viral, starting at just a couple and then a few more and so on and so forth----It was literally a team effort---There's always gonna be the group that did go international "first", but they're not solely responsible for K-Pop becoming what it is today. Period.
Why do people think negatively when Illit and Le Serafim thank their producer? Just because it is Bang ShiHyuk? There has bee so much hate toward him like public campaign to potray him as ugly greedy beast or something. Bad image, hm. I wonder who has such passion to build the image by spreading negative rumours from A to Z.
First with blackpink and now new jeans... he insults other idols in favor to the girlgroup he is trying to reach at the moment. Also he took for granted his friendship with newjeans. Im sorry but Jason is 100% a delulu if he thinks is normal to visit NJ in person just because they now him... like boy, there are many fans that invest thousands of dollars on fansigns just to make the idol finally remember their face, you are not besties because of that. What sets him apart from other bunnies is that Jason is a streamer. And i am pretty sure the girls didnt met him in first place because they wanted to become friends with him or exchange numbers or whatever idea he had on his mind. NJ benefits from being exposed to his fans/suscribers on social media. Thats it. I hope after the anger he touches some grass.
The anger he had is because of people labeling Jason as a stalker or creepy and several other negative comments. Which are unfair to him. And he didn't take anything for granted. He didn't even try to ask New Jeans for contact information of any kind when he met them twice. Including this third time he saw them. If he really thought he was besties he would have asked them for contact information. And there would be nothing wrong if he had asked for contact information. New Jeans can always say yes or no. You're just being another judgmental k pop fan and not realizing that you are being that.
no cause how old is this jason dude? cause depending on that then asking how old nwjns is shouldn't be anywhere near as weird as people are making it out to be like kpop purposely makes younger idols look older so that they can be marketed as "attractable" to a larger group of people, so asking the age of idols especially when reacting to them on the internet seems pretty rational
Let's not forget they are not the ones making their speeches (the majority of time), and even if they did, they are only doing what most idols do. Nwjs had the right to thank MHJ (as much as I hate that woman), just like Illit and Lesserafim has the right to thank their ceo. It's as simple as that
Thats what happens when you have idols advertise so many random companies that idk dont make much sense, like there is a difference between having a group for an advertisment or making them your ambassedors. If they have been reapearing models for a product you would hope they at least kidna like it or there is some connection that makes at least a little sense, not just a random credit card
Big Bang and didn’t make kpop super Global popular so idk why ppl feel the need to erase BTS influence when it was BTS who paved the way globally. I swear, I know so many ppl who don’t even know BigBang are or they heard of the group but never listened to their songs. Even ppl who watched Squid Game 2, I saw several tweets saying ‘oh I just found out Choi Seung-hyun is actually a rapper and was in a really popular kpop group’ mind you, if it was BTS member everyone would immediately know who they are. Also don’t talk to me about Suga saying it Taeyang. That was literally just him being humble. BigBang is their senior and a group themselves looked up to so of course Suga is going to say they paved the way. Realistically we all know it was BTS who opened MANY doors and had the most impact in the industry GLOBALLY, that’s just facts.
Like the worst we could get is "oh! He is in bts?" Maybe they dont know them individually ut as a group definitly. But i agree kpopies want to erase the guys all the time. I feel like he wasnt trying to erase but being nice to the reporter but fck no, everyone has to deny bts as soon as they can On the other hand illit and Ls thank bang(who is their main producer since mjh empty source music) and millions more ppl but ok they forced them 🙄
31:09 Some people think those types of documents don't exist in other companies. If you work at a company, you will know any comapny will search for opponents' success.
The fact that Jason went out of his way to get backstage access from a third party just so he could meet them a second time is crazy. If he weren’t popular, people would instantly call him a sasaeng.
@@PokerOnChips What do you mean by 'invited'? He said in his video that Jay Park and his friend hooked him up with tickets. The point is, he used his connections to get backstage so he could meet NewJeans again. If he wanted to do that, why not go through NewJeans' management? Nobody would have an issue with it if he were invited directly by NewJeans.
@@PokerOnChips Let’s be for real. While the possibility that he may be there for other artists exists, Newjeans is the main one he’s associated with. He even went to the HYBE building with a sign saying ‘Free Newjeans’, so how is it not considered sasaeng behaviour when this ‘fan’ somehow obtains backstage tickets JUST to go to their dressing room…. He even mentioned that Hanni was shocked to see him. Totally not creepy.
@31:48 controversy is stupid, ofcourse an artist with thank their producer, it would be even more weird to thank everyone else but them? Imagine New Jeans thankingg their staff and not saying anything about MHJ, i mean MHJ would probably skin the girls alive...
why shit on illit and le sserafim for thanking him when these speeches were 100% not written by them lol. you think they'd be allowed to not thank their CEO? people are so ridiculous

Taeyang.. The guy who Introduced me to KPOP... Through his Legendary son " WEDDING DRESS" ... He was there Rocking when KPop wasnt even a thing...... . He did paved the way for younger Generation...
I don’t understand why people love to discredit bts and their huge impact in K-pop than any other K-pop groups?Big Bang was popular even before bts no doubt, they were doing tours and attending some western shows, no doubt but the question is how did it made easier for other K-pop groups to expand themselves outside Korea? They keep repeating the same thing again and again but where’s the actual answer? How did they made it easier for other K-pop groups?but for bts, when people say they paved the way doesn’t mean they were the first to do so, they mean to say only when bts started winning western award shows, K-pop now have K-pop categories in those western award shows, only when bts got their first Grammy nomination, K-pop groups started their submission for grammy, only when bts blew out in west, K-pop groups got the opportunity to sign with American labels, only when army requested bts albums in stores like target, K-pop groups now can have their albums in those stores, is the impact same? We are talking abt paving the way, meaning making it easier for other groups not who was more popular and who was doing it first or who they look up to🙄
and people thought I was talking about of my butt when I said definitively that New Jeans was getting out that contract regardless of how HYBE or ADOR felt about it. That contract is over period.
@alexwee8875 weird delusional fans who don't have friends accused him of stalking NJ. And even before that sent him hate. Despite NJ interacting with him multiple times

no artist can pave the way single-handedly. these netizens are too delusional to accept the reality. and about the illit speech, I think they were told to "thank" bang pd in their speech...idk it's just my thought
Im just so tired of this drama and i actually already so done with that so idc about who's right and who's wrong, k-pop is freaking music, not the endless k-drama. I just know thats both of groups are victims. I know thats just tons of people will start argue with me, but y'all should admit thats nj is victims of manipulating and mistreating, and illit is victims of unfair hate. NewJeans are literally getting used, and its pretty visible, even Jongkook said "Dont use them". I swear thats MHJ behind every immature and ungrateful thing newjeans have done. She using them as her shield, and forcing them to do bad things and they believe thats every what MHJ says they need to follow. And i 101% sure thats Minji's t-shirt with MHJ is MHJ's idea. Just because latest time they appeared on Vogue Korea phootsession without ADOR's permission, and later its got revealed thats MHJ was a creative director of this photosession. And right now story just repeating itself and newjeans again appearing on a show without ADOR's knowlege and Minji wering a t-shirt with MHJ, which is already strange because how i know newjeans' memebers are not a big fans of online shopping, but right now Minji somehow getting a t-shirt with MHJ. Thats already obvious thats MHJ planned all this. And if someone start to hate on my opinion, tbh idgaf.
Omg do you guys not know your history the one who paved the way was Gangnam Style PSY and then bts did it next globally because big bang got really big in Korea like fact in that but global no no
She is an producer/vocal director (vocal director doesn’t mean being a singer. It is someone guiding while recording songs how to sing some parts with emotions for example. If you watched NJ content, you’ll know how involved she was with the recordings). Why did she then got an award in 2024 for Best producer?
It’s ridiculous how some fans can go so far with their arguments. Can’t you just accept the fact that without the 1st and 2nd generations of K-pop, BTS wouldn’t even have had the chance to become trainees and idols? BigBang was massive during their time, and I personally got to know K-pop because of them. I’ve seen some fans claim that BTS "paved the way" in 2011, but that’s an absolute joke. They didn’t even debut until 2013, and for 2-3 years after their debut, hardly anyone knew about them. I remember seeing them at the Seoul Music Awards in 2015 and not even knowing who they were. Army should stop this negativity towards other groups. Why get triggered and insecure if you think BTS is so popular and successful? Why get defensive when Taeyang says they opened the door? The biggest insult I could ever imagine is to call myself Army. The fandom behavior is so weird that I’m honestly grateful I don’t stan BTS. The sanity is really gone at this point.
This reminds me of western sports-fandom drama and in-fighting. ADOR going to Hybe probably wasn't a good fit business-wise, or personality-wise. But I'm not supposed to know any of this - this is usually behind the scenes corporate stuff. Whatever. All I know is the songs by all these different groups/labels/agencies fit very well next to each other in my driving to work playlists. The songs don't fight. Probably neither should the fans.
Jason shouldn't have explained himself at the end of the day, some of the tokkis who praised him before are the same ones who are part of the people who are dragging. And even in the dressing room, what would he do to them when they have stuff even if they don't have any other person with them.
I honestly don’t understand the backlash he is receiving, but BTS did pave the way so did Psy. I never heard about Bigbang until I got into K-pop,I heard about BTS when I saw them on the Ellen show, so yes, they paved the way for K-pop groups to break into the west. I saw a video of Gdragon and all the comments were clueless about who he was, that’s when I knew he is really not that popular among non K-pop listeners.
LOL the butthurt is for you all who really think he said the truth LMAO Big bang was only well known around Asia lol, without it none outside the poppies world have a clue or respected them PSY and BTS are the ones who deserved the tag
Man poor Jason, the way they twisted the truth just to try to get him cancelled is crazy, dude is a huge fan of newjeans (Think about it why would he even use ETA at the end of that stream which was HUGE for his career in terms of subs ? Cause he listens to their music, that's as simple as that), he was confronted to the evil of kpop stans and he just wasn't familiar with their game. I'll give Kpop fans the benefit of the doubt, maybe most of them were not familiar with streaming and how much trolling, sarcasm and edgy jokes there are in the space but those who knew and still pushed the narrative too hurt him just because they were jealous of his success and him meeting the girls, those are absolutely horrible people. That's why Kpop and kpop fans will forever remain a joke, the fans themselves are gonna make the kpop movement fail and shrink back to Korea/East Asia only.
taeyang doesnt deserve backlash at all.. he was literally telling the truth that bigbang had a huge part of kpops popularity
Notice how most if not all of these comments are from I-fans? And Taeyang didnt even say "paved the way", he said "Open doors". Only toxic delulu fans intentionally mistaken the two. And then felt the needs to spread negativities onto someone else social media because of their intentionally misinterpretation.
No
lol the numbers says otherwise.. one BTS song has more streams than bigbangs whole discography lmaoooo paved the way for what exactly?
@ no one said bigbang paved, we are saying that bigbang were one of the first groups to get major popularity outside of just korea, which means they did have an impact on kpops popularity. and without bigbang bts would never have been a group, yoongi said it himself.
Found one example right here@@KingKikikoi already. LMFAO. This delulu fan think when Bigbang was at their peak, streaming was a thing. Grow up child.
I agree. Reading comprehension Is very important. BIGBANG open the doors and BTS paved the way. People discrediting BTS should go back to school.
THIS!

There's a reason why 3rd gen groups found a platform like Kcon to promote on. It's because outside of Asia 2nd gen in the late 2000s made us lose interest in J-pop and created a niche for the K-pop scene all over the world.
@ShammahAgahozoNdoba Bts paved the way for the most number of international fans. That's it. They are not the only ones who paved the way.
NJs are so annoying at this point.
The same as the bunnies.
And yes... It's probably their last performance.
Ever.
They are gonna go overseas if they want to keep having a music career but i think they are gonna be banned in SK.
Relax bro
Lil bro actin like their life be turned over, it aint that serious
Dw.... Whether njs disband, not disband, if they're doin what they want DO NOT WORRY
It aint gon hurt ur life... Ur good bro

They are the most irritating group I have found so far...

Relax, "bro".
@suan333 bro im irritated? Lmao its clearly you lol
Like all i said was chillax, i mean if ur gon put ur own opinion out there for people to see, you're obv gon see other ppl who disagree or think ur over reacting
If you have so much time to be irritated by a group which u can easily ignore (confirmed by many ppl) its obv you need a life and that's what i said
@Abyss777 reading you gives me headache.
Learn how to write.
And you being like this just makes me feel even more annoyed by NJ AND their childish fans.
Good life.
taeyang isn’t wrong at all, imagine if psy said the same thing, like he’s not wrong at all. Majority of people first heard of kpop because of psy. BigBang is the same they are such an big influence and made such a huge difference for kpop in that time.

34:35 i feel like sometimes *I* paved the way !
me too! you always slay those stages
K Pop Fandoms just make me so sick! If people, read bloggers don't keep talking about idols fandoms won't have anything to get mad about
The backlash against Taeyang is so stupid, I can't believe we're still having this conversation 💀
The contract "betrayal" thing is wild to me, like....Aren't idols just kind of told to work with and let's say they do get much say in those sponsors: It's not the first, nor will it be the last time an idol/group has a contract with some brand/company and maybe they DO like that thing to begin with. Contract times cannot predict an idol/group falling into/out of love with a brand/company/item---Like they could find something a lot more useful to them in the middle of their contract run and start using that thing and have to stop pretend they're using the other once the contract ends----The betrayal viewpoint is absolutely bonkers to me 💀💀💀
Also In terms of "who paved the way"---I think it was because there was a successful roll out of different groups over several years---When I was younger and still in school, there was BigBang, Shinee, 2NE1, 4Minute, then PSY blew up, etc. etc.----Over the course of SEVERAL years, you had enough groups (though it was few), that went international viral, starting at just a couple and then a few more and so on and so forth----It was literally a team effort---There's always gonna be the group that did go international "first", but they're not solely responsible for K-Pop becoming what it is today. Period.
Okay idk about the Jason man or nj but his opinion on twitter is a fact.
this jason's situation just shows how toxic fans are they can turn on you at any time.

Gjrl where are the timestamps...I've heard enough of hybe-ador gate, please!
no cause how old is this jason dude? cause depending on that then asking how old nwjns is shouldn't be anywhere near as weird as people are making it out to be
like kpop purposely makes younger idols look older so that they can be marketed as "attractable" to a larger group of people, so asking the age of idols especially when reacting to them on the internet seems pretty rational
I feel like he wasnt trying to erase but being nice to the reporter but fck no, everyone has to deny bts as soon as they can
On the other hand illit and Ls thank bang(who is their main producer since mjh empty source music) and millions more ppl but ok they forced them 🙄
@ oh my comment is not directed to Taeyong at all. Its directed to the BigBang stans.
The issue is these companies should stop debuting young artists like on their teens. Which result like NJ dont understand their contract at all
yeah but half of newjenas are legal adults
The real question is when will Angelina meet NewJeans?
31:09
Some people think those types of documents don't exist in other companies. If you work at a company, you will know any comapny will search for opponents' success.
The fact that Jason went out of his way to get backstage access from a third party just so he could meet them a second time is crazy. If he weren’t popular, people would instantly call him a sasaeng.
he didnt go out of his way he was invited and what do you mean third party this wasnt a newjeans only event
@@PokerOnChipsHe wasn’t invited by Newjeans which is all that matters.
@@moonlxght211 it wasnt a newjeans event they dont own the event or back stage they wasnt the only artist
Everybody throwing out media play as if idols dont get articles written over sneezing or the littelest things anyway
@31:48 controversy is stupid, ofcourse an artist with thank their producer, it would be even more weird to thank everyone else but them? Imagine New Jeans thankingg their staff and not saying anything about MHJ, i mean MHJ would probably skin the girls alive...
how has this seriously become one of my favorite shows on the internet
why shit on illit and le sserafim for thanking him when these speeches were 100% not written by them lol. you think they'd be allowed to not thank their CEO? people are so ridiculous

We are talking abt paving the way, meaning making it easier for other groups not who was more popular and who was doing it first or who they look up to🙄
Do people realise that Illit and Le Sserafim may LIKE their companies? That THEIR experience differs from NJ? They are allowed to speak what they want
and people thought I was talking about of my butt when I said definitively that New Jeans was getting out that contract regardless of how HYBE or ADOR felt about it. That contract is over period.

and about the illit speech, I think they were told to "thank" bang pd in their speech...idk it's just my thought
Not so much newjeans they have their own minds yet still act this way

To be honest I’m not even sure if she talked about him before or not I have a bad memory
Everyone pretends to like certain kpop groups for more views…..
Illit, Le Sserafim blink twice if u need help
The backlash on Taeyang was only by armies LOL! He was telling the truth and they were butthurt.
That man literally got his first or highest entry on billboard thanks to Jimin . And this is how he thanks him apparently .
