I've been kicking around an idea, of applying crocheted motifs onto things. I think i would put glue of some sort on the back first and let it dry/slightly stiffen, then apply onto the surface. With crochet, you can go as bulky/heavy or as lacy as you want. AND as far out Colorful as you can stand lol. Loving that stone texture on Queen Mary's home. 🙂
What I've done in the past is soak the fabric in glue that is slightly watered down and then placed it on my piece. You need to make sure it is colour fast first. Also a safety feature with fabric on glass is that should it get broken the glass stays on the fabric making it a safer option and easier to clean. Love this piece. ,🥰

I forgot to tell them that - I thought it was generous that they went ahead with the video when they are sick. I also loved seeing Scotland. I’ve always wanted to go. I’m used to the cold, rainy, foggy weather because I’ve grown up with it in western Oregon. Looks so similar.
I was blown away how you just poured the paint all over that shiny piece of furniture. It didn’t appear to be sanded. Does that paint adhere so well that it never chips off? You’re amazing; not afraid of color! ❤❤
Annie Sloan is no prep paint..... And no it doesn't chip off well at least I've never known it to. Cheaper brands will but I don't use them.... And always two coats of good quality top coat sealer and wax and it takes 28 days for all paint to actually properly cure..... All this results in paint that doesn't chip off. Lel x

Little people are petri dishes for all sorts of bugs from nursery school it's hard to avoid it and still play pirates and get cuddles. It's something I am happy to endure lol. I think I would have done the fabric mod pog on the flowers before applying and let it dry. Then attach the flowers to the cabinet after they dry. Looks great!

Love the finish. I think going around the edges of the inner glass part with a darker version of that turquoise-green metallic and create a bit of a shadow would create a lot of depth and make it even more beautiful... Just something I kept thinking watching you do the end.

O my how you two have build your dream together.... I was looking at a painting from my father mother side of the family from Scottish borders .... Its about 150yrs old or so.... Its was made by a family member and sent to Canada for piece of old home life across the great pond as they say.... I so enjoy your work... Here in Saskatchewan Canada it gets cold like -35 without the wind and it blows here... So I understand working inside the home... Lol Long winter ahead of us... I dont think you need to worry about how you payment for the membership works, I think youtube do all that stuff and do a currency conversion so you just see dollars. I'm pretty sure but if you have any problems at all please let me know strait away. Can't have Sydni not there. The paper you mentioned will be one of the starting ones we offer to members. As you will be aware, Lel often makes bespoke papers for her designs but we dont make them available normally. In the new members side of things, we will make them available at a discounted price so you will in the future be able to get any of them. Lovely as allways to hear from you Sydni. Nursery schools (kindergardens) are hard to escape from lol. Comes with grandparenting territory. Fabulous! You've inspired me to do this to a little cabinet I have that has glass doors. Can't wait to get started. I already have the mould you used. I may try stamping a rose (from Painterly stamp set) on the back of the glass, painting it on the front and then restamping over the rose on the front. What do you think? Love you and Martyn. Because I always stamp on backs of glass and I thought I would live life on the edge ha ha ha Honest answer I was getting sicker and sicker with each day of filming and in the end wanted to be in my bed.... But I jyst pushed through it. X
I am totally aware of bleed through as I've painted furniw for about 16 years, bleed through only comes into play with whites and pale shades.... I don't use pale colours. If I do I resort to a primer, however primers generally are not environmentally friendly so I don't use them unless it's really necessary. If I do I use zinnser bin. Made by Marley in the UK is a ethically environmentally friendly buisness. And our mission is to not only upcycle save and save on planet waste. And use products that protect rather than contribute to a problem. We don't use paint strippers or try not to sand furniture either, Annie Sloan paint is a no prep paint and I find it does the job perfectly. Hope this helps x

Moulds go to iron orchid designs website and find a stockist near you. As for paint find a brand of paint you like and look for a stockist. I'm the uk I use doodle dash for my IOD products and dove tail vi tage for my Annie Sloan paint. I hope this helps thanks so much for watching x

Yes I would imagine it might although the first application water down your mod podge as I think it will prevent it going opaque. And get a firm paintbrush and push your applique's into your frosted glass 🙂🙂🙂

Yes have a go but I think maybe water the glue down slightly on hindsight I think I was a little heavy on the glue ha ha

I think I would have done the fabric mod pog on the flowers before applying and let it dry. Then attach the flowers to the cabinet after they dry. Looks great!
Hmmm but if they didn't dry completely flat they may not have adhered to the glass properly..... Its a great suggestion I will test it out x

Love the finish. I think going around the edges of the inner glass part with a darker version of that turquoise-green metallic and create a bit of a shadow would create a lot of depth and make it even more beautiful... Just something I kept thinking watching you do the end.
I was flagging at the end and just full of the cold. I probably near the end just wanted to try and finish it as marty and I have both been sick.

Paula it's an old video and sold after I painted, I've no idea why... I possibly didn't like it but who knows how my mind was working at the time. I guess as it sold so quickly it's all good... Lel x
O my how you two have build your dream together.... I was looking at a painting from my father mother side of the family from Scottish borders .... Its about 150yrs old or so.... Its was made by a family member and sent to Canada for piece of old home life across the great pond as they say.... I so enjoy your work... Here in Saskatchewan Canada it gets cold like -35 without the wind and it blows here... So I understand working inside the home... Lol Long winter ahead of us... Love how you think outside the box make due what you have on hand... O ya I can get long winded in my comments... Lol its in our blood line lol.. Take care of that cough you two...

I haven't commented for a number of weeks although I've been faithfully watching your Sunday videos. Busy weekends. I tend to watch your videos in sections since it is hard for me to sit for an hour or more at one time. I love that you spend the time detailing your pieces even if I can't always watch them in full at one time. I've also begun rewatching your past videos and realize how much more there is to learn by watching them a second time. Enjoy them even more. Interesting that I have an old tattered blouse with some beautiful embroidery and thought about how I would use them on furniture, so I was thrilled that you demonstrated it on this video. The timing was perfect! So happy to know that you will be offering that beautiful mermaid decoupage paper in limited supply. I was going to ask if you to offer it as part of your collection of papers. Perhaps you might consider doing another mermaid piece with shells and other sea life as a theme. I love mermaids and it seems that many others do as well.

I dont think you need to worry about how you payment for the membership works, I think youtube do all that stuff and do a currency conversion so you just see dollars. I'm pretty sure but if you have any problems at all please let me know strait away. Can't have Sydni not there. The paper you mentioned will be one of the starting ones we offer to members. As you will be aware, Lel often makes bespoke papers for her designs but we dont make them available normally. In the new members side of things, we will make them available at a discounted price so you will in the future be able to get any of them. Lovely as allways to hear from you Sydni. Nursery schools (kindergardens) are hard to escape from lol. Comes with grandparenting territory. Fabulous! You've inspired me to do this to a little cabinet I have that has glass doors. Can't wait to get started. I already have the mould you used. I may try stamping a rose (from Painterly stamp set) on the back of the glass, painting it on the front and then restamping over the rose on the front. What do you think? Love you and Martyn. Do you ever get bled through without primer first? looks good at first but in time it turns a rusty yellow color??
I am totally aware of bleed through as I've painted furniw for about 16 years, bleed through only comes into play with whites and pale shades....
I don't use pale colours.
If I do I resort to a primer, however primers generally are not environmentally friendly so I don't use them unless it's really necessary. If I do I use zinnser bin. Made by Marley in the UK is a ethically environmentally friendly buisness.

is to not only upcycle save and save on planet waste. And use products that protect rather than contribute to a problem.
We don't use paint strippers or try not to sand furniture either, Annie Sloan paint is a no prep paint and I find it does the job perfectly.

Moulds go to iron orchid designs website and find a stockist near you.
As for paint find a brand of paint you like and look for a stockist.
I'm the uk I use doodle dash for my IOD products and dove tail vi tage for my Annie Sloan paint.

Yes I would imagine it might although the first application water down your mod podge as I think it will prevent it going opaque.
And get a firm paintbrush and push your applique's into your frosted glass 🙂🙂🙂
