Thank you my brother I can’t thank you enough. Recently I experienced the same issue before going to mechanics I came across your wonderful video. You save me about $3000, I just tightened up the valve
You just saved me a thousand dollars here, mechanic said it was internal transmission failure and surprise! found valve c disconnected, really appreciate your video sir.
2014 Ford Escape SE 1.6L: I recently rebuilt my transmission which was surprisingly easy. When I put the Transmission back into the car I was getting the transmission fault service now alarm. I couldn’t figure out why this was happening. The car shifted and drove perfectly. After finding this video I checked both bypass valves for the transmission and one of them was disconnected. I found the harness hiding under the shifter cable and plugged it back in and the error no longer occurs. I almost never comment on videos but I wanted to thank you. Ford should really have a DTC PO code for these valves.
Thank you so much!! I just bought a 2015 and after I brought it home I got the same message! And it did it again today, but no issues shifting. Nervously I TH-cam’d it and there you were saving the day! Thanks so much for sharing!
Fantastic video, thank you so much for making this. You're totally right that this information isn't anywhere else. I was fearing a potential catastrophic transmission failure after pulling my intake manifold today and it turned out to be nothing more than a worn out clip on the valve B connector. Whew!
Hi Today when I tried for reverse display was showing it’s on reverse but vehicle didn’t move ,in that time brake was strong I mean Stuck, also in the dashboard was Battery signal and after few seconds automatically dashboard was shutdown ,then I turn of engine and start again and it’s drive Is that any issue of transmission ?😔😔 Plz let me know TnQ
Just bought one of these and it threw the Service Transmission Light while it was driving fine. Had a couple of hard shifts after the light, but I drained and filled the trans fluid (which was pitch black) 3 times and it’s driving fine now. Does have a P0217 Code though and when I drive it consistently shifting through the gears my scanners shows the trans temp consistently climbing past 215-220 F. Is that considered overheating ?
220 f is getting on the max end , I would really like to see it around 210. Now towing it would be normal to increase , but not empty. You might consider adding an additional external oil cooler. Thanks for the question.
My 2011 Ford Fiesta had the transmission malfunction service now come up when I was driving. I had to pull over because it stalled. I turned the car off for 2 minutes and was able to drive with no problems. The engine light is still on. Should get it looked at.?
I would check there first for sure , those wire connectors can easily get mixed up also . As long as the tran temp is good and the fluid level is good. Appreciate the question.
My Focus will stall, the gear selector lights will flash, and the car will not restart. I am getting a "transmission fault" message on the dash. I can't get it figured out, any help would be appreciated.
My transmission fault signal came on and my car was driving funny. It’s a 2016 Ford escape. I am so confused I don’t know what to do. When I stop at a traffic light or stop sign it doesn’t move when I am ready to go. I need some assistance 😫😫
So the transmission in my 2016 Escape overheats. Kinda wondering if one or two of these valves is stuck closed and not allowing flow of coolant through transmission cooler.
All three of my lines going into the valve at the front, which is B are all cold and even when the rest of the hoses from the radiator are hot, they remain cold all the way to valve. Anybody have any suggestions? Also, my transmission is running poorly.
I have a 2014 Ford Escape with 155k miles and when I drive 65 miles or more for 15 minutes it triggers a "Transmission Failure: Service Now" alarm and the car starts to stall while I'm driving. We are only using it within the city, if we have to take the Highway there is no way, as it will stop all the time.
I'm struggling with this issue myself too - I'm getting codes P0741 and P1744, and the engine light came on after I got several 'Transmission Failure: Service Now' alarms coming on one after another. I am hoping that I can find a transmission specialist who will replace the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid only, which I'm hoping can be done without pulling the transmission out (so labour cost shouldn't be too high). What solution did you find?
Hey bud. I have a transmission code in my escape but it only goes off at 100 km driven then if I shut car off I can drive another 100 before it goes off. Any ideas?
Ok i just got the code transmission fault message, and i did nothing, but before this my front axle is bad and my purge valve is to with the engine light on, could that trigger the transmission message. I really need help so i can get to work
Other than throw a code , you should be able to check the outlet line with the vehicle up to operating temperature. It should be warm or same as the inlet. The only issue would be if it fails shut and is not allowing coolant to flow , this could overheat the transmission. This could also be caused by a connector or wire issue. Thanks for your feedback.
I would not drive it at all , until the problem can be pin pointed. It could be the bypass valve not working and this could overheat the transmission. It could be low on transmission fluid , low on coolant etc. A good scan tool can monitor the tran temperature and coolant temp and read codes . I would recommend not driving it until the issue is resolved. Thank you for the feedback.
I would check the fan , if it isn't working the transmission could be getting hot and throwing the fault. Other than that have it scanned for codes , it could be a bypass valve fault. Hope this helps.
@@s33therfan yeah fan should be checked. I hoped a trans fluid change would help since it was junk but the noise the trans was making was horrible. I did have codes when I first looked at it P0219 P0324 P2703 P2704. It’s going to the shop Monday. 🙁
my 2016 escape had the transmission light go on & it’s driving funny. won’t let me go faster than 10mph. then restarted the car & it drove fine but still kind of puttering. any idea?
So I have a 2014 Escape SE, 1.6L and I am getting the “Transmission Fault service now” message but ONLY when I’m driving about 65Mph. Anything below that, the message never appears. So after it says there’s a Fault, it’ll say “power reduced to lower engine Temperature”. The whole thing is Odd because I can drive 50 miles without any issues, ass long as I stay under 65Mph. Anyone know what could be wrong? Ford is trying to charge $150 per hour JUST to look and see what’s causing this smh
Basically it just had the servicr transmission fault , on the display at start up. The transmission fluid was also running hotter than normal. Thanks for the feedback.
I was getting a P26AC error for solenoid B. It seems to be a code that's specific to Ford Escapes and I had to use ForScan to get the error because my generic OBD software didn't find it. It looks like the error code for solenoid A is P2681, but I can't confirm that 100%.
I would start with checking the tran temp , tran fluid level , coolant level. Then move on to the bypass valves. It will most likely be the valve in front of the radiator. Lastly if those all check out , there may be an issue developing with the transmission itself. Hope this helps.
U sir save me money, "transmission fault service now" car was perfect but the mesaage keeps poping, guess valve C was miscontact, after that message gone.
Many recommend with newer transmissions , changing the fluid every 30k. Now I would like to see studies done on this to confirm . I would also say this , that when you factor the price of transmission fluid with the price of a transmission replacement, it is better to change the fluid often. I had done some research and came across a few post about transmission faults. Several had great running transmissions with no issues. Could not help but wonder if these bypass valves may have been related to theirs. Hopefully this can help someone else out as there is not a lot of information about these bypass valves.
22 videos later I found this video with a real solution. Thank you my good Sir.
Thank you very much for the great feedback.
Great job , I’m going thru the exact same thing

Do you have a video showing how to connect it?
