Miss Monroe looks like she is trying so hard not to mistake the lipping. It's got to only add to the pressure of being on stage and getting things right. She's a literal child, no one expects her to be perfect. If she messes up, so what? It would be less embarrassing than another playback mishap like last tour that is obviously weighing on her for this first performance. I get that Mariah's voice is unstable for live singing now so she is constantly recording new studio playbacks, but she should let her daughter sing live. I think it'd be easier for her.
Me Quinn, you’re deluded. I perform, anyone who performs with microphones or at the very least is around live performance can tell the difference between live nuances of a microphone coming through a PA system, and polished sterile pre-recorded vocals. Sorry for your ears.
But what’s not painful? Uh, seeing a decent performance, or not having my ears assaulted… not seeing and hearing one of my faves struggle-bussin’ it with live vocals that just end up sounding like spilled hopes & dreams. Give me a good show and that’s what we paid for. I don’t want to feel like they’re physically out of it AND forcing themselves to sing live. Because clearly, Mariah is tired of the heels and the performing. I love her for thirty years almost, and I can say yes, she’s over the glitz and the glam. And the physical strain. So why not pre record some vocals? If she’s gonna be up on stage anyway… at least look energized if she lips a little. And I don’t blame her daughter if she is either. Only Americans care so much about live singing, for some reason, but not a good show. I’m American too btw. It’s just fascinating to me how so many Americans point out the lip synching all the time, in every singer, and not recognizing when it was a decent show (for once). Not just Mariah, either. It makes me feel more “pain” to hear someone I like as a singer struggle, tbh. Then I start feeling like it’s over completely for them…
