  • HOW TO GROW AND TAKE CARE OF LITHOPS/living stone plant
    Those succulents that you thought looked like stones? They are called Lithops (or Living stones), a genus of succulents native to southern Africa, Namibia, and Angola, Older Lithops form clumps of colorful pebbles in their pot, which makes them ideal as an accent piece in your garden. As small and slow-growing plants, they are relatively easy to care for, especially once you get a hang of the routine. In this article, you will find some basic knowledge to take good care of your Lithops.
    Lithops also referred to as pebble plants, are succulents that grow extremely slowly and rarely get more than 1-inch above the soil. They usually only have a pair of leaves, which look more like stones than leaves with a fissure separating them (a small gap) and epidermal windows (the small holes on top of the leaves)

    I have received an lithops and few succulents, just now by post, travel time being five days. Should I water the plant before potting, please guide.. or the soil mix moisture will serve the purpose.

      Hi Arun ji , plant them immediately and water them after 3-4 days , weather is humid so there is no need of watering just after potting

    Can I use cinder+vermicompost?

    • @gardeningaesthetics
      @gardeningaesthetics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem, use approximately 20% vermicompost with cinder. This cinder can be used upto 50 % in potting mix of cactus, Lithops and many more loamy soil loving plants. We can use approximately 30 % cinder with succulents or any other plants also.

      I have brought these lithops from some random Nurseries of Darjeeling, but there is some face book groups like cactus lovers , & rare plant buy & swap india , from where you can buy these lithops but before ordering kindly check the profile , delivery history and appreciation notes of buyers so that you can choose some good & genuine sellers . First order few after receiving well your first order then make big orders .
